How Can I Get Prescribed Subutex Instead Of Suboxone (Page 5) (Top voted first)

i get sick everytime i take my dose of suboxone. I throw up everytime. but my doctor will not switch me to the subutex even though it is in my charts that i have yaken the subutex and never got nausiated. what do i need to say or do to get my doctor to understand and switch me? i also have severe intestinal problems that get aggravated with the suboxone, what can i do. i do not want to quit treatment but i cant keep throwing up everyday all day. please someone help me.

Addiction IS NOT A DISEASE. It is classified legally as such to facilitate treatment (and rightly so) for physical and psychological dependence on a substance or behaviour. We Americans have a need to feel special - the disease model is adopted by the addict community as an excuse for our behaviour. It has an irrational foundation in religion which somehow has addiction as a spiritual malady.

Even if you could find a qualified licensed professional to accept you as a new patient THEY DO NOT ACCEPT Medicare/Medicaid as payment. Neither will they prescribe subutex. By far the most problematic issue in your area is finding a pharmacy to actually fill a legit rx for Any Bupe product even if you were able to get one rx'd to you. It's unfortunate but a dilema many are faced with on a daily basis in your neck of the woods.Best of luck to you....

Amen, why can't we just go on taking it for the rest of our lives as long as we are passing U/A's and doing the right thing in life. I'm so scared cause I'm down to 2mg-.05 per day that's really just a strip a day but when I think of getting off of them completely I get so scared and I start thinking how am I going to live normal as I have for the last 2 yrs. no I don't wanna get off them. I am doing the right thing. yes I have screwed up, if I have takin like 1 & 1/2 instead of just 1 strip I went up like I take In morning but by night I just needed a half of a strip. I don't like it if I have ran out a day before my visit or the most it was, was 3 days. Wow, from where I've came from hundreds of thousandths of dollars worth of pills and lots of opiates, I think I'm doing pretty good. I feel normal again like I did back when I was 21 yrs old & never ever knew what an opiate was. That's an amazing feeling. And I don't have a good track record with my husband of almost 20 years, but I haven't had to ever go back to how I used to live just to not be dope sick. So I really think first of all we need more doctors that specialize in opiate addiction. I got my first pain pills from the drs and they never said after we have you on them for 3-6 months that you very well can & probably will get sick. So crap we have these blockers out there, we aren't hurting anyone. In fact we probably are better members of society, please can't we just keep taking our dose. This is ridiculous to think oh my gosh my dr is going to take me off & that's how history repeats itself over, over, & over again. Yes it doesn't have to but more likely then not it will. I've always said oh no this last time no more but that no more is remembering how you just felt normal on opiates. I thought this is how the whole world felt and that was normal in my mind cause I couldn't understand how people ever went thru life feeling normal. Being normal not having to take a pill to make your whole body soul & brain to feel normal. Some folks can take a pain pill and hate it, it makes them get sick, but I wasn't lucky enough to get sick. I felt normal just like a normal person. And my parents never even drank let alone took a drug so why did I get that addiction personally in me and not any of my 3 siblings! Well crap I guess it was just a raw deal I got and some crap happened and me being normal was never ever again. I don't know why I'm like writing you a book and I'm sorry but just let us have it until we don't want it anymore. If we are doing what the program says and we are doing what we are suppose to be doing, then why take it away. Why take that risk? I don't want to take that chance cause this is my life and I probably don't have too many lives in me left. Thank you. I hope someone will just take a little piece of what I have said and get something out of it. Thanks again.

So I actually got switched to subutex but now a days u have to have evidence from the doctor tht pit u on the Suboxone...so if u truly are ask the doctor if u can take ur dose there...and stay at his office..once u begin have the symptoms...vomiting sweats stomach pain then theyes will either write them or go to dr.baird

I am trying to choose something to get off of the worst drug ever and I have narrowed it down to subutex and the implant that goes under the skin bc I know from personal experience that suboxone and methadone are not for me. Suboxone makes me throw up and have migraines and I get so scared to take it the first day bc I seem to ALWAYS put myself in early withdrawal which if you dont know are the WORST ONES YOU CAN POSSIBLY ENDURE. Not to mention the withdrawals after taking sub are just as bad but not worse than methadone withdrawals... Methadone goes into your bones and hurts for an entire year. I need a doc in Birmingham al that prescribes shots or subutex... Can anyone please help?

I just started taking Subutex last month. I went off of it because of the headaches and nausea. You have to watch out with that because naloxone has the same side effects. I also went off of it because I may need surgery in the near future, and I didn't want to be on the Suboxone. The Subutex also helps a little with my anxiety. If the doctor you are working with won't change you then I would talk with another Subutex doctor..Good luck. :-)

This is smack dab the exact experience I have been having too after going from subutex for almost 2 years from pregnant to breastfeeding and then I got switched back to suboxone but not without a argument but I could tell these side effects before I was put on subutex after being on suboxone about 2 years prior to that (i had grew accustomed to the signs I guess) up until they started writing me the subutex and those symptoms slowly faded away after a month or so and I then figured hey these work and I don't have to deal with feeling so weird all the time (i can tell a huge difference btween the 2 100%!) and stayed on those for as long as I could until they said without a form stating u are allergic or pregnant/breastfeeding I can't keep giving u these. So 2 months later I'm still trying to figure out how to get switched back I'm thinkn go to a regular dr and telling them my symptoms and the worst being is very rapid heart beating and shortness of breath and seeing if they will give me something saying I need to be in the other but other than that since being switched I haven't been able to see my dr I've saw a different one and omg this guy idk even know how to describe him but he tells me the heartbeat n shortness of breath isn't a side effect !! Well yes it is along with other side effects I'm having and he's telling me no so I googled it sitting in his office and said according to this yes it is and still I've not had any luck at all and I'm miserable almost so it even croases my mind to just go back to the pain clinic but that's not a road I want to take and I keep pressing thru but I can tell a big difference since I got back in this and idk about you but do u have like anxiety or depression fazes at all?

Saying you have a headache does not always work. I am currently taking suboxone films. I have also tried the tabs, about 45 after taking them I get a horrible headache!! I was at work yesterday and my head hurt so bad I was having cold sweats and felt VERY sick to my stomach. I told my doc today and he wants to Blaim my headaches on stress and everything else under the sun. I want to continue treatment but I can't handle these headaches and being nauseous EVERY TIME I take one. Doctors assume if you are asking for something else that you want to abuse it, but that isn't always the case I did my own research and I found that the blocker is what causes the headache some ppl just can't take suboxone. Doctors need to do their jobs and being caring like they are meant to rather than judging their patients!!!

With the Constipation: Suboxone is known to cause constipation since its in the opioid family. When or if yu discuss this with your doctor he or she will recommend dosing down tapering ... There are Methods around Constipation that yu can use along with ur stool softeners (be cautious of your bread and cheese intake) they can cause a lot of pain when& digestion system and bowels gets backed up try eating more fruit and or veggies in your diet! fiber makes a difference .

I believe addiction should be categorized with mental health seeing from my experience people self medicate with opiates to control severe anxiety issues and other chemical imbalances!

A lot of place won’t give subtex out anymore unless you’re pregnant where I live I got
Migraines everything they told me to spit the left
Over out that is mainly the blocked rinse your mouth afterwards

Wrong. The effects of full on opioid are blocked because the Bupe, not the Naloxone. The Naloxone only exists as a deterrent to administering subs intravenously.

Cherie, if you're doctor isn't listening, I'm really not sure what to suggest, other than perhaps switching doctors.

And Doolalah, has the Suboxone you've been taking recently been coming from a different manufacturer? You might want to check on that, because if so, then the inactive ingredients can be different and may be contributing to the problems you're experiencing.

Methadone kinda defeats all anti-opiod purposes.totally opposite in all the same ways.I took 240 mgs of Methadone a day.and yes,clinic prescribed.now,getting off the Methadone is a similar sickness,but hella more intense.everyone is built different.so I say try and use it for medication,and not substitution.

Wow that's pretty smart thinkin ...I never thought it would it COULD RATHER be a different manufacturer adding different ingredients to cause different problems with our bodies & then still thinking that we're taking the same drug...

I have allergic reactions severe swelling to the point where i have been to the emergecy room 6 times in the last 7 months, i have severe reactions going on the suboxone, my body burns, tingles the doses cant even keep up with the withdrawels, my brain even feels like i am having a acid trip, I feel so weak i cant even move, breathing, takes all my energy away, and then after 4 days of hell all the sudden the withdrawels stop, I am able to do only 2 quartes a day (4mg) and im prescribed 2, (8mg tabs.) Because I dont need anymore every day I try and do less and less but @ the 2 week mark all the sudden my kidneys hurt, I swell up all overmy body and it gets worse everyday, its so bad i can stick my finger 2 inches deep into my flesh over my shin bone, thats severe swelling, my tops of my feet look like balloons, my hands cant close my throat is swollen, I have to get steroid shots lasix pills and I have to go off of the suboxones to any opiud I can find to avoid withdrawels because the nalaxone in the subs is literally killing me and then because of the blocker I have to do dangerous amounts of whatever I get to stop the withdraweles and that just messes up my tolerance and is crazy, this is the cycle I go threw every 2 weeks all because of the dr.s or dea worried about someone might beable to do a pill...wtf, I have more of a tolerance and a drug problem then I ever had before going on suboxone. I dont fo any illegal drugs, dnt smoke, dont drink, only reason I ever used pain meds is because i flew into a tree off a four wheeler and messed up my spine real bad and was put on pain meds so i didnt have to suffer, never sbused them didnt even become dependant on them for ten years and if i cant function in the amount of pain im in i hv to take them regardles. So now legitamently because of people who ruin it for the rest I cant get my meds and am now yoyoing on suboxone thats killing me and now actually use more then i ever did cause of the blockers, and cant remain on the suboxone for more then 2 weeks cause of the allergic reaction i get from the crap buiding up in my system. So instead of me being able to take subutex, and not getting a allergic reaction and dying, and actually have a normal life and not deal with illegal crap, like buying whatevers available just to not die from the suboxone "nalaxone" shutting my kidneys down. I am being put in situations I never would have been in before starting suboxone. Isnt the whole point of being on suboxone to stop drug addict behavior and have a normal life not having to spend crazy amounts of cash and lying to everyone and not having to be sick all the time. Well before being put on suboxone, I never stole, lied, hid from people cause Im sick, or did illegal meds like buying off of streets. My family since starting suboxone has asked me if I was on drugs and whats wrong with me, and wheres all the money going, I have to pay 180.00 cash for the dr. Fee and 6 to 800.00 cash for the suboxone and now hundreds on meds so I dont die from the suboxone. So instead of putting me on subutex with no nalaxone so I dont every two weeks go into kidney failure and severe edema and shock, so I dont have to go off of it to illegal crap, so I dont have to spend obscene amounts of cash. They keep me on suboxone to prevent that very behavior I never ever had before starting the suboxone. I cant find a docter to even tell my story to I dont know what to do. Does anyone know of any subutex docters so i can actually have a chance to be on it to wean down to get to the point where i dont need stuff. All the suboxone is doing is killing me. I should have never went on this stuff being a pain management patient who never did illegal anything, i dont even smoke cigarattes or drink alcohol, dont gamble, cause i dont like to. Never was one to like feeling weird, i like normalcy, but now that my record is ruined with suboxone, i cant even get pain management treatment, at least i would like to not almost die every 2 weeks and yo yo on and off things. Id like to feel normal. Please anyone share with me a dr. Name to help me.

I go tomorrow and will be seeing one who does in ft lauderdale and from everything I have read in these forums kinda scares me but subutex is the way to go I used it once and it worked. Then used and never had the chance to have again and I wanna stay in touch
