How Bad Will My Withdrawal Be? (Top voted first)

Hi...this is my first time posting here. I've recently been taking 6-9 30mg roxicets a day for about 8-9 months. My habit started off slowly like all do,I started taking a half a day and slowly increased as time went on due to my tolerance build up.12 days ago i stopped and went to suboxone and i,ve been taking 8mgs a day for the past 12 days...4mgs in the morning and 4mgs at night. I'm ready to quit everything because I've been on subs before and I know how bad the withdrawal is from being on them long term.My question is how bad should my w/d be from only 12 days of usage...last time i was on subs for little over a year for a bad oxy habit and the w/d were an absolute nightmare:insomnia for a week extreme anxiety and crazy restless leg syndrome not to mention the unbearable constant headaches. I'm really scared and totally disappointed in myself...I should have never put myself in this situation again after being almost 2 years clean. I'm luckily taking my vacation from work this thurs 4th- weds 10th, will this be enough time to recuperate and how bad w/d should i expect if i quit cold turkey 2nite?

There is no definitive answer to this, it can vary from person to person.

Quitting cold turkey, after months of using the other drugs and now Suboxone, should result in some pretty bad withdrawals, similar to what you went through before.

You may be fine in a week or it may take a little longer.

Hi,
I saw my Dr today and asked her about the W/D from this drug, I have been on 16mg for the last 2 weeks. She said the W/D is much easier than all the other drugs out there and that is why alot of people that are trying to get off Methadone are put on Subutex/suboxine as the W/D is much easier. Hope this helps.

I hope I'm not to late... but you can come slowly off the subs. If your taking 4mgs in thdo the am & pm...just cut those in half (get a pill cutter) do this for a week...then it wont be bad at all...good luck!

my best advice to you is to get off of suboxone now or as quikcly as you can .. ive been on suboxone for about 6 months now and the DTs are HORRRIBLEEE, id deffintly say way worse then obiet dts. anyways, suboxone is just an easy way out for a while, but its doesnt solve the problem, only creates more when down the road you try to get off it !!! : (

can you help me? and tell me the HONEST TO GOD TRUTH. ive been on subs for about 6 months now, however ive only taken like a half of one 8 mg in one day and now only take about not even a quarter of one 8 mg a day. what is yer best advice for quittting, and what i really want to know .. is will my dts be bad .. considering i am on so little??? PLEASE HELP.

Many long years on suboxone , I will tell you what I have heard over and over.If you are on a half a day, take a few days more at a half. Then, a quarter a few days or so.Then an eighth for a few,then a crumb or 1/16 if you are able, a day or two or three. then try 1 valume, xanax, or if not available, lick a crumb of sub,maybe lick the bottle inside. Then,Pray,hot bath,get a good friend to be with you. If unbearable still, 1 grain of powder, then pray,hot bath,good friend wait and it will end. I promise.

I took suboxone for 6 months beginning with 16mg and ended up jumping off at 2mg 25 days ago. I am still having withdrawal symptoms. Taper as much as you can before coming off. Subs have a half life of 37 hrs so the longer you take them the longer the withdrawal will be. This blog, guineveregetssober.com, helped me find some answers as to why this withdrawal was lasting a really long time when the doc said it would be mild or not at all.
