Any1 know if it's okay to take heroin say 4-5 hrs AFTER having taken my first dose - 6 decidedly inadequate mgs - of suboxone?

Badger, don't listen to the a little addicted guy that replied to your lost. You said that he is on Subutex, which is buprenorphine without naloxone. Repeat, no naloxone. Many addiction docs will starr their patiesince on Subutex for 3 days, before changing them over to Suboxone. They do this because the know that your mu are filled with opiate. So if your gut feeling is that he is using again, then he probably is. And, since Subutex can be prescribed by a general practioner, or even PA, it is highly unlikely that he is getting piss tested. Addiction docs administer a urinalysis at least once a week to #1 ensure there aren't any illicit drugs, and #2 ensure you have suboxone in you system. So my suggestion to you is to tell him that you want to know and understand more about his addiction because you love him and want to help. Ask him for tje prescribing physician's phone number... Then call the doc and tell him your conerns. He won't tell you anything because of HIPPA, but I guarantee you he will pay closer attention to him, and start piss testing him, if he hasn't already. As for the other guy that posres a reply to your question... Dude, if you don't know what you're talking about, don't give advice. These are real people... And potentially life and death situations... Or in this case, a family hanging in the balance. I can't stand when people know only enough to make them dangerous. Aboit 6 years ago I lost my wife, kids, well paying career, house and my dignity and pride. I am just starting to rebuild... My point is, people come to these forums for help... And I see people post replies thay are misinformed and ignorant, or others of you judging people for slipping.

SMH - Subs have been around for over a decade and STILL the same incorrect info is beimg passed around. First, the Naloxone in subs is NOT active when taken as prescribed, under the tounge since it is destroyed by the liver. It is only active if you IV it and its half life is about 20 minutes. Second, naloxone does not precipitate withdrawals. The bupe does because of its higher binding affinity to opiate receptors. The bupe will knock off any dope that remains on your receptors and toss you into withdrawal. The length of time this lasts varies on the type of opiate youre addicted to and the amount youve been doing. Someone, like me who gets strung on a six to ten bag a day H habit will have precipitated withdrawals for about a half hour if I IV 4mg of Subs too early. If I snort or take it under the tounge, the onset of the PW is longer and lasts an hour. Ive been going back and forth between Subs and H for two years. I ALWAYS intentionally precipiate withdrawal via IV suboxone because I'd rather deal with a half hour of hell than 24(+) hours of feeling creepy and half s***ty.

Third, if you stay on a low dose of Subs, 1-2 mg a day, sublingual - you can still get off on your dope. It may take a little more the first 24 hours since your last Sub dose, but youll still feel it. The key is maintaining LOW doses of subs. Less is more. I do 1/2 a mg in the AM and another 1/2 in the PM and that keeps me solid and able to do a bag and get off. The general rule is to keep a blood plasma level of 3mg or less in your system, which is equivalent to 30mg or so of morphine or 1-2 Camden NJ bags.

J, yes if u do enouph it will help ur sicckness but it will take triple ur normal amount to do so but u never take subs after any drug until u r in wd cause it will make u very sick every time. If u r trying to get on subs, wait till in withdrawl n take it. If u get sick, which if atleast 12 hrs after the drug u shouldnt but stick it out. Lasts bout 30 min n then take ur next does of subs when ur supposed to n ull be fine. I know thhat sickness is hell on earth. Ive been thru it.

You missed the question entirely, while your info is helpful, he asked how long AFTER doing suboxone he can do some other drug and feel it. If you take suboxone then a few hours later try to get high most likely you won't because if the naloxone blocker, or if you do you'll need about 5x the amount you'd normally use. But yes waiting to take suboxone until you are actually sick is true, taking SUBOXONE after getting high is different than taking some before you get high.

I took 16mgs of suboxone at 12 and it sent me into withdrawel. I was sick throwing up ect. And didn't know what to do so bought some dope and sniffed it. Will it help my sickness? And will I still feel it

You will test positive for heroin. Doesn't matter if you took subs. You'll come up for both.

Chemicly, im wondering what ur talking about? I have searched thru this forum and have found no one talking about subutex at all. Can u be specific on whos post were trying to comment on? Ive been apart of this one a while, under a few names depending on which device im on but either way im trying to find out who u say made a wront post of subu vs subo? Just to clarify. She said SUBUTEX not suboxone. Subutex is pure Buprenorphine with no Naloxone. Hard to get ahold of and usually only given to pregnant or bread feeding women! But he could easily sell his pills to support his habit and then clean up before doctor appointment. Start paying attention to his behavior. Look up opiate withdrawal online. Sooner or later, he will display symptoms. If he is doing this, I feel bad. I am going through it now myself. It's so hard to go through three days of withdrawal when you have a school
And work. My heart goes out to you.

I'm trying to find out how both of my sons can do heroin, methadone, and oxy's and get a clean urine test within twenty four hours of using. It's happen numerous times with them both. They are both clean now but I'm very curious how this is possible. I have googled it but I'm not getting any answers. Everywhere I look it says four or five days. My sons have both come back clean before 24 hours. One time my son was high on oxy's and I took him to the e.r. And they said there wasn't any opioids in his system ? Blood or urine.

This is true, I took 4 mgs of suboxone and 24 hours later, went to use heroin, nd hardly felt anything at all, very dissappointing.

Before u try to insult intelligence, know what u r responding to. The thing on here last asked about was taking subs after a drug, not the other way around. If ur responding to the origional post, why? Did u see how long ago that was? Please dont jump on a forum n talk if ur not going to talk of the current issues. You guys are giving pretty false info. A lot of factors play into the equation. First, how much and how long you've been using suboxone. The ratio is 4 to 1 bup to nalaxone. Nalaxone is the blocker and its half life is very short lived. I'm not going to break it all down for you cuz the info is out there. I will put in short for ya, yes you can feel opiates after even just a few hours of taking nalaxone. I know 100% because I've done it many times on a regular basis. It just depends how much youve done and how long you've been doing it. I wouldn't say immediately after doing a sub.. because supposedly the rule of thumb is 4mg =1 hour of blockage basically. All people are different tho but there ya go

April, ur supposed to wait 12 hrs after doing the drug to take a sub. It doesnt matter how long ago u took the first sub. Subs within 12 hrs of a drug is what makes people sick. Maybe 6 is not the right dose for u. I myself was on 8 twice a day. Hope this helps. Good luck and god bless.

I took about 6mgs of sub when I was uh moderate withdrawal according to the COWS exam I felt a little better but not completely..I waited about 6 hours and did took other medications..it's not been about 24 hours since I took the sub and want to know if it's safe to take more sub or it will put me in withdrawals.

From my experience, it all depends... usually 8-12 hours at the soonest. This is what I do for example, I use heroin all day and I sleep at 1AM. I wake up at 10AM. I use subs. Ill be fine. If you do it that way, youll be golden all the time.

Thats not true at all besides the fact about precipitated withdrawl...if u take a fair amt of subs, it doesnt fill all the receptors but does stay in your system for a while...doing some h shortly after gets rid of remaining withdrawl and you will feel much better each day, especially if you came off a long habit of h... in other words do the smallest tollerable amt of sub, and reduce your used amt of h esvh time about two to three hours after sub...pretty soon it will be strictly sub with no h after it, and if your on a small enough dose of sub, you can ween down to nothing safely....start with 1mg and take another one mg every half hour if u do not feel better, then a little h hours later to get rid of the hairy wds....youll be fine...i did it myself just like this and now i went from a gram a day habit to no h and 1mg sub in the morning and 1mg at nite.....gl
