My cardiac catheterization showed "minor luminal irregularities" in lad, circumflex, ramus, with co-dominant coronary circulation. What does that mean? ## Minor luminal irregularities refers to an abnormal narrowing of the arteries of your heart, according to the AMA. Co-dominant refers to how your heart pumps blood, meaning it is using both of the proper ones, making neither major artery dominant. This is usually considered mild heart disease, due to the luminal irregularities. The term "lumen" refers to the inside space of a blood vessel through which blood flows. An irregularity in the lumen can mean a variety of things but often refers to changes in the shape or smoothness of the artery's interior surface. This could be due to the buildup of plaque, which is a co...

I have been on Multaq for 6 months and last night I experienced major dizziness and blacked out twice. I have been light headed all day today. Have called my doctor but got no answer. Has this happened to anyone else out there? I'm a 57 year old man. ## Hello, Mike! How are you? Those can be side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, headache, and easy bruising. Severe dizziness and fainting are not common side effects, but they have been known to happen. Has your doctor gotten back to you, yet? ## Yes, I went to the doctor and she ran a number of blood test on me. She took blood pressure sitting, getting up, standing and lying down and getting up. All bold pressure was ok but she was concerned with my heart rate. She said it would jump ...

After a heart attack in 1995 I am taking ecosprin. But now I am suffering from gastric ulcers. Though they prescribe many drugs, all is neutralized by ecosprin, but I've experienced blood in my vomit and 24hrs of being uncomfortable in the stomach. No doctor is advising me to stop ecosprin. Is there an alternative I can use?

I'm trying to decide on which of the two dentures or implants will be my best buy. I have around 11 teeth remaining to be extracted, and half of them are down to the gum. I need teeth real soon and would appreciate some info or suggestions. Thank you. ## Hello, Jerome! How are you? I have full dentures and am happy to chime in for you, with information from my dentist and the NIH.....and when I had to get them, I was in a similar boat, due to genetics, childhood neglect and abuse... I'd suffered congestive heart failure, so there was a big risk to keeping my infected and failing teeth. There are some drawbacks to each... Implants are very expensive, the cheapest you can get are usually the 4 on 4, which means you have 4 screws implanted that your dentures (fake teeth) attach to,...

I take Brilinta twice a day. I hyperventilate too much and regular shortness of breath. Everything I have read, even from the manufacturer has said that these are possible side effects. My cardiologist brushes it off and said he does not know why it is happening. I have a lousy insurance but I have to go to tons of specialists to find out if I have other problems. This is costing me. Why won't doctors place the blame on Brilinta? Should I keep trying to find out the problem or believe the manufacturer? ## You should believe the manufacturer, these types of side effects are also listed by both the FDA and the NIH. You may also experience headache, blurred vision, and cough. Unfortunately, doctors are not required to study medications as much and as in-depth as other medical professio...

I was started on Multaq after ablation got my heart to beat normally. I has previously been in Afib 62% of every day. The ablation did not last very long and I am again in Afib most of the time. My doctors want me to continue the Multaq just the same. My only symptom is fatigue. ## Multaq contains the active ingredient Dronedarone and it is used to treat irregular heartbeat, including Atrial Fibrillation and your doctor probably wants you to continue taking it, because they fear worsening or your condition, if you stop. In addition, a sudden withdrawal of these types of medications, that affect heart function, can result in rebound effects, which could cause your condition to worsen and put you in life threatening danger. Are there any other questions? ## Some background first...... My ...

I had radio frequency ablation twice due to having A fib. The first one was performed Dec. 2015. It made my palpitations less frequent and lighter. The only sign of A fib after the first procedure was I could just be sitting in a chair and I would get short of breath as if I could not get enough air. Sometimes no palpitations at all. I had second procedure Feb. 2016. I went off the Multaq April 15th. Wore a heart monitor from June 13 to July 13, 2016. Just got the results July 26th. I am A-fib free. I am overjoyed with the news. I have had Paroxymal A fib for six years. I planned all vacations by searching for hospitals in case I had to go to ER for conversion. It has been a journey. So if you have A Fib you might consider having an ablation. I stayed overnight in hospital rested at hom...

I was diagnosed with mild luminal irregularities throughout the left and right coronary system. Can anyone please explain what this means? ## This is considered having heart disease, a mild form of stenosis. To put it in more easy to understand terms, it's an abnormal narrowing of the cardiac arteries. The term "lumen" refers to the inside space of a blood vessel through which blood flows. An irregularity in the lumen can mean a variety of things but often refers to changes in the shape or smoothness of the artery's interior surface. This could be due to the buildup of plaque, which is a common cause of coronary artery disease. Has your doctor suggested any treatment or dietary changes? ## I have just been told I have minor luminal irregularities in my right coronary art...

Small pale yellow round pill with 544 on it. Can you show me any images please? ## Hi Jill - is 544 the only marking on the pill? Any score line or other letters above that? The only thing I could find that is a relatively close match has the imprint JSP over a score line over 544. Here is an image: Is this what you have? If so then it is Digoxin 0.125 mg from Lannett for treating heart conditions. NDC code 0527-1324. Hope this helps and let me know either way!

Tiny round yellow tablet scored with a line. On each sides of line 1 side 544 other side has letters ups. ## Hello, Debbie! How is your dad doing? I believe the marking you're looking at might be JSP 544 and, if that is the case, this tablet is manufactured by Lannett and they list it as being a 125mcg Digoxin tablet, which is used to treat irregular heart beat. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. Is this a medication your father usually takes?

THOUGH I HAVE LOST THREE AND A HALF STONE IN THREE MONTHS MY LEGS ARE GETTING FATTER ## Hello, Jan! How are you? As reported by the NIH, this may be a symptom of fluid retention, which can be dangerous and may lead to congestive heart failure. Are you on any medications? Do you have any diagnosed medical conditions, such as high blood pressure? Do you eat a lot of salty foods?

My father has water in his lungs. Is there any form of help for my father? I heard of fusion. Is that a possibility to help him at home? ## Hello, Denise! How is your father doing? What are you referring to as water on the lungs? As listed by the NIH, this phrase can be used to describe several different medical conditions, such as pneumonia, congestive heart failure, or edema. Is he on any medications? What treatment has his doctor recommended?

You may also experience nausea, dizziness and muscle aches. Alternatively, rather than stopping it, you could speak to your doctor about trying a different medication. Is this the only medication you are on?

I have water build up in my legs can this also make your scrotum swell ## Hello, Bebo! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. It could, if the edema gets severely bad. However, as reported by the NIH, you should have this checked out by your doctor. That edema should be treated, because letting it continue could lead to congestive heart failure and there could be some other medical issue going on that requires treatment. Is there anything else I can help with?

i found a small white round pill under my sofa that reads MZ 200 on it. i have tried looking this up but can not find it. Could you help? ## If it's round and says mz on one side it is usually generic for lasics (the water pill) Because pod my congestive heart failure that started me on 20mg/day to followed up with kidney test. Once my kidneys got the clearance that up the dose to 40mg/day. If taken as directed as I did. My swelling went down rather quickly (which thin a week) I did notice that I ran out of those polls for about 3 days and the swelling came back. Good luck

Oxycotton is a synthetic form of heroin that is highly addictive and can cause severe side effects. I got perscribed Oxycotton 80mg because of a car wreck. I took them as perscribed until I got used to them (addicted). I then took more then my normal amount to get high. They took me off 3 months later, and I began withdrawing. I got in contact with local druggys and bought 120mg of oxcotton. I stopped using, and had to go into the hospital 5 hours later because of heart failure due to the drug. I am now sober for 5 years and I am relieved I decided to stop. Anyone out there who is taking Oxycotton to get high, put the pills back in the bottle and listen to what i'm saying. Please don't abuse them and end up on a hospital bed for a month because your heart can't beat on its o...

I would like a professional who knows to tell me what drug do they push via IV while giving one a chemical stress evaluation of your heart? I was recently in the hospital, and because I was too ill to walk and had a probable heart attack, I was given one of these evaluations. WOW! It was a drug from hell! I've never felt anything like it. It is meant to stress your heart out, well it sure did! Luckily, it did wear off fast, and the technician warned me in detail about how it would feel. Just curious about what the drug's name is? Thank you. ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? They actually use radiation. It allows them to immediately stop it, if the person reacts very badly and shows danger signs, according to the NIH. What symptoms did you experience?

How are you? Yes, that is normal to prevent infection, because dental infections have been directly tied to heart disease and some valve infections. The typical side effects of this antibiotic may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
