Has anyone else experienced notably increased shortness of breath attributed to Multaq? ## Multaq contains the active ingredient Dronedarone and is most commonly used to treat irregular heartbeat. The shortness of breath is listed as a serious side effect and is warned about in the patient advisory leaflets, you should contact your doctor immediately. Are there any questions or comments? ## i do experience periods of breathlessness but always search for an alternative reason ie flu or a cold. I have felt the same with most of the medication i have tried at some point in time. Do you have it constantly or occasionally? I was suprised looking at the 'Multaq' forum that hardly anyone has mentioned it as a side effect. As with the previous reply it may be best to seek advice from yo...

I have been taking Multaq for 10 months. I was hospitalized at that time for bronchitis. When asked what medications I was presently taking I stated all of them. I also mentioned that I have MVP and was taking 200 mg of Acebutolol 2 X daily. I also mentioned that 18 year's ago I went into A-Fib for 3 days. While hospitalized, they put me on Multaq. I since don't feel any PVC's but not sure if the Multaq eliminated them. Previously, I was taking Betapace as a preventative for A-Fib. Since taking the Multaq, I have been suffering with my stomach, extreme tiredness and get winded easily. Is taking the Multaq and Acebutolol over doing it ? I was told that the Acebutolol controls the lower part of the heart (PVC's) and the Multaq the upper part of the heart (A-Fib). I feel I ...

And the next day he feels like crap...is this normal? Please help. ## Hello, Habib! How are you and your dad? Shortness of breath is actually the most common side effect of Brilinta. That, plus his feeling so awful should ease up as time passes and his body gets used to the medication. Learn more Brilinta details here. But he should also discuss it with his doctor, just to be sure that it's solely due to the medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I had a MI in April and angioplasty. I'm on metoprolol and digitek. I had a cold so I took ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine. Would this cause thinning of blood? My nose is bleeding and eyes appear very bloodshot. ## Ibuprofen is an NSAID and while it may cause bleeding and change the way your blood forms platelets it does not thin your blood. This is pretty much a characteristic of most NSAIDs. Aspirin is the most common NSAID known to actually think the blood. ## Ibuprofen has been known to cause hemorrhage, so yes, it can cause blood thinning, and other issues, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation. How severe is the nosebleed? Are there the only medications you take? How much Ibuprofen did you take? Can you please post back with more specific detail...

ny help or advice would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance Michael C Parkes ## My mother is 97 years old and has been an invalid for several years. She has never had a heart attack but has taken heart meds for congestive heart failure for many years. She has never had a major stroke. Several months ago her primary care physician recommended that she be taken off of all of her life sustaining medications such as blood pressure meds, etc. My family made the decision to do this as it was what she wanted (she only has very mild dementia). In your opinion why would she still be on Isosorbide MN? Is this something that will just make her comfortable or is it considered life sustaining? Thank you for you help. ## Isosorbide is most commonly used to treat angina, though a doctor may pr...

My father had a stent placed in dec 2017. Immediately following procedure he said he couldn’t breathe. They put him on oxygen (before stent his pulse ox was 98 room air), dr attributed the shortness of breath to the Brilinta. They said it should clear up once out of his system. It’s been almost 3 months and still on oxygen 24/7. Anyone else have this happen? ## I had 3 stents put in Mar 2017 Brilinta 90 mg x 2 a day. The shortness of breath started immediately OR 3 weeks later, lots of tests all neg, summer not bad, shortness of breath came back in the fall in a big way. Hi, I wanted to ask if any of you have had any success or made worse having steroid epidural shots? I had one 8 weeks ago for the first time. I don't have major spine problems but did get thrown out of a car in a wreck. My dx is lupus, hernia, lymphadenopathy with B symptoms, and my foot is numb. Lupus has an entire list of symptoms so I won't engage on that. I'm trying to explain the best of my ability how I feel after my first inj. I have pain at times like it's heart attack symptoms, I have fluid retention, it hurts to move my neck, it hurts to walk and I've currently been unable to run our company in the last 3 weeks. I am so much more weaker too. I know this was to help joint pain but I feel it's set off more problems than I bargained for. Also prior to the ...

I had been prescribed Ecospirin 150 mg once daily after a mild heart attack in 2001. In 2005 I started experiencing ringing in my ears. In 2007 I started experiencing piles. In 2009 I experienced bleeding ulcers. Doc said these are all known side-effects of long-term use of Ecospirin, and finally discontinued it for me. Instead, he has prescribed Clopi---. Can anyone guide me as to whether it is a good substitute for Ecospirin, and whether it too has side effects from long term usage? ## Clopidogrel is a good substitute. You will not have the side effects as caused by aspirin.

I was put on multaq and eliquis in mid April 2017 after being diagnosed with AFib, AFib with flutter and SVT. My body adjusted well and there have been no side effects....until now. It's been 6 weeks since starting and I've developed a bad rash around my ankles that is slowly creeping up my legs and also affecting my hands and arms. Wondering if anyone on this forum is also taking multaq and/or eliquis and has experienced delayed side effects? ## It is possible, although, a rash could also be caused by circulatory issues, or an allergic reaction to something, according to FDA and NIH reports. I sometimes experience itching on my legs and feet due to how my heart and blood pressure medications affect my circulation... it can also worsen an allergic reaction, since when your blood...

Dr. Prescribing this for a-fib. I have read that there is a high mortality rate for a-fib on this. Is there anything out there that doesn't cause problems. Already on lopressor but having break thru after 3 years. ## Unfortunately, all prescription drugs pose the risk of side effects. Even natural remedies do for that matter, but more so, to a much lesser extent since your body doesn't necessarily recognize them as toxins in the same way it does with synthetic pills. Also, my findings state that there are potentially unsafe interactions between Lopressor and Digoxin. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Using metoprolol (Lopressor) together with digoxin may slow your heart rate and lead to increased side effects. Contact your doctor if you experience nau...

My husband had a heart attack. Pharmapress was 1 of the tablets they gave him. He stopped using it because his bp drops so low to 92/73 that he almost faints. The doctor told him to take half or a quarter, but the result stayed the same. The BP is far below 120/80. ## Is he on any other medications? That can be a side effect of this medication, according to the NIH, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. Has he informed his doctor that problem continued? He may need to switch to a different medication. I had one that caused me similar problems. ## May I use Pharmapress 10mg instead of Prexum Plus 5mg for a few days? Kindly advise.

CUMIDIN ## when you are taken off of cumidin blood tinner are there any side effect to worry about ? ## Coumadin contains the active ingredient Warfarin, it is used to help thin the blood to prevent possibly dangerous clots. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising. Lee, it really depends on your overall medical condition. If you have a condition requiring your blood be thinner, so the clotting is controlled, stopping it abruptly may create the risk of clots, which could result in a heart attack, or other dangerous issues. Did you doctor tell you to stop taking it? Was it replaced with a different medication?
