I have been taking Harvoni for 3 months now and am having nerve pain in my legs and lower back pain. Is anyone else taking Harvoni having any of these same side effects as me? Please help if you are able. Thank you

Me to 12 weeks of treatment now spinal pain, leg pain, feels like needles in the bottom of my feet, migraines .Just a sick nausea feeling all the time and definitely no energy left. I now have a walker,shower chair ,back brace and cane but still breathing.I guess that's good

I am 8 weeks post harvoni tx of 12 weeks. My lower back pain has increased from manageable to horrid. The joints in my wrist, fingers, feet, and hips all are very painful. I feel like the harvoni has done damage to my nervous system! The pain is driving me crazy! Anyone out there have any remedy for post treatment harvoni issues?

I posted earlier about debilitating achiness post Harvoni. I am now 2 months post treatment and my body is definitely transitioning post treatment. Achiness is slowly diminishing. I cannot explain this except by acknowledging the power of my body adjusting to no viral load.

My Son started Harvoni. From the very first day, he woke up crying. It has gone down hill, since after 6 weeks he had to get off to save his life. He was having depression and suicidal thoughts, and they're not getting any better. I don't know what to do. Any help?

Oh I just replied to you on another thread here. So he was on Harvoni then? How old is he? I haven't heard of that type of deep depression on it but I am not saying it isn't there at all. Many reported anxiety. What is your doctor doing for him? As a mother of two adult sons I would be worried sick!! I hope someone is there to help you.

Vanessa, your doctor is lying to you! This is one of the more common side effects! Nueragia, tinnitus, headaches, lung infections, memory confusion are just a few of the more common side effects! A different group I am in has started a petition from to get Gilead Sciences to be more forthcoming in just listing the side effects - no money, just tell us the truth!

Thanks for the reply Keith.
I have every one of the symptoms you listed except lung function.
I have also got strange pins and needles all over my body. It feels like a circulation issue but I cant be sure.
In week 9 I could not hold it down so also missed 4 doses and am aware of the risks of virus mutation when you miss doses but my body just would not accept it. So now i have uncertainty as well.
Dont know if it is even worth taking the final 2 weeks.
I am sorry you are also impacted but I know thst these side effects are real and its a relief to have it validated.
How are you now ?

What's really going on with this Harvoni? We know we were Guinea pigs sold a bill of NO good but why doesn't the FDA yank this drug or list the side effects? It's because it's been such a cash cow for so long. It's all about the stock, big pharma and how greedy or dumb our doctors are. I chose to say greedy. I will never see that doctor again. I suggest you write a letter to the company CEO tell them (not that they care) but put a live voice to this poison, we have only one life, why not! They gauged the price from day #1, soon we will not be talking about it anymore. When is this company going to be held accountable? This is the corrupt power of big pharma. I am so hurt because I really was trafficked by my doctor. I really feel like they knew the whole experience was one dark nightmare and it's not over yet. Keep posting for others to see and I wish you all healing. I would love to find a lab and find out what's really in this med. I swear it had something bad in it.

Vanessa some might not agree with me but since you already came this far I would finish your treatment. At least you would be virus free with the lasting effects rather than lasting effects and facing possible treatment yet again down the line. Your in the home stretch. I had major problems with my feet during treatment as well as my hands. Almost two years later I live with it and it is better than it was. But my silver lining is I am virus free. I had liver area pain that was frightening and making life harder. I was an F1-F2 so they say. I do not have that pain anymore.

My mother in law died on January 3 2016 from Harvoni. This drug is horrible and the FDA is not releasing enough info to inform people of its side effects nor is it releasing any info about death. She was fine before taking her prescription. Then came fatigue, headaches and out of no where she died. Like a light switch turning off. Doctors said at first she died of a seizure disorder but my wife who is a PI looked into it and pushed for further diagnostics with the Clark County Coroners office to find she died from a bursted blood vessel in her brain. She had just went to the Doctors on the 21st of December and was considered fine by her doctor. After looking into some info there are a lot of medications that will interact with Harvoni, some haven't even been evaluated by the manufacturer to see if there are interactions, so make sure your doctor is well aware of what you are taking. My Mother in law had a pain specialist, a general doctor and many more who did not communicate and now my mother in law is dead. 50 years young was full of energy and life 3 months prior to her death. If we had known all the info we have read about now with all the deaths that have occurred and not reported or the horrible side effects that come with the drug we would have not taken her to get the medication and she would still be here. Harvoni is a money maker for pharm and the doctors I believe are being coaxed into prescribing this medication. They don't care about general health of people anymore, they just want money.

Jared I am so sorry!!! Such a young woman too. There is a change.org petition out there if you search Harvoni there. Please sign it and get your family and friends to as well. We are trying to band together to inform the public.

Vanessa I just felt that once your even half way through treatment we have seen that stopping due to sides hasn't changed that they might still stay with you. Once you already got that far I figured you might as well kill the virus so you have something to show for your future sufferings. If only our doctors would be of help to us during and after treatment with side effects. You are so right that we all drank the koolaid and I have learned a hard lesson from that. I will not jump in on only my doctor assurances next time.

To scared mom, yes, what Sherri and others said is right, that suicidal ideation is listed as a rare side effect from the clinical trials, about less than 1%. I am pasting a quote below from the FDA pdf of prescribing information. I do hope your son is ok. His doc needs to know about this.

"Less Common Adverse Reactions Reported in Clinical Trials (less than 5%): The following adverse reactions occurred in less than 5% of subjects receiving HARVONI in any one trial. These events have been included because of their seriousness or assessment of potential causal relationship.

Psychiatric disorders: depression (including in subjects with pre-existing history of psychiatric illness). Depression (particularly in subjects with pre-existing history of psychiatric illness) occurred in subjects receiving sofosbuvir containing regimens. Suicidal ideation and suicide have occurred in less than 1% of subjects treated with sofosbuvir in combination with ribavirin or pegylated interferon/ribavirin in other clinical trials."

Vanessa this is Luna your friend, this forum is a little harder to follow than that other one that was so rude to us......my whole body hurts...My doc gave me a steroid shot this week for the inflammation in my body. Some relief came but not near enough. I too am afraid I will be living in constant pain and on pain meds forever....please send me an email at {edited for privacy}! Missing our conversations. Also Holly is not doing well, long story. Damn Charge Syndrome, she is trapped in a body with a mind.

Mark - You're not listing the real side effects of Harvoni. If you're looking at Gilead's site, it lacks any credibility regarding side effects.

I suffered terribly on treatment, severe GI issues, head aches, night mares, sleepless nights from back, hip, feet pain, nausea, vomiting, you name it that is what i got was 12 weeks of living hell in bed unable to do anything. Now post tx the GI issues are tolerable, but the joint and muscle pain in intense requiring me to take a narcotic to be able to get to sleep. I went into this tx with low back issues but not my whole body. If I had researched the side effects? Not so sure I would do this again. So far I am undetected since 4 weeks in so I am 99% sure that I am cured of hep c genotype 1a...but holy kamoli, I had no idea I would feel like crap for so very long. Let alone the damn side effects not listed that Gilead and the FDA refuse to acknowledge....this is beyond ridiculous.... seeking empathy.

I don't know where to post this but Ive been googling for the last 3 days. Just started Harvoni Friday morning and it HURTS. Like my bones hurt. My arms especially. Ive had stomach issues and headaches but nothing compares to this deep pain on parts of my body My doctor told me to see if it goes away after a week. I'm honestly surprised at how many side effects there are to this drug when i was told there was very minor side effects like head ache and fatigue. i really want my Hep C gone, but I dont know if I can handle months of this. From the sounds of it, it doesnt get any better. is it really worth it? Anyone have any ideas on what the pain is and how to help it? Sorry again if this was an innapporoprite place for this post.
