I have been taking Harvoni for 3 months now and am having nerve pain in my legs and lower back pain. Is anyone else taking Harvoni having any of these same side effects as me? Please help if you are able. Thank you

I read through all of the posts and I got peripheral neuropathy from taking harvoni as a side effect, it sucks because there is no cure for me except I got rid of the hepatitis c. I was talked into taking the harvoni by the doctors and I had a low gen type so it was not necessary for me to take it. If it happened all over again I would never take it again! {edited for privacy}.

Denny what type of pain medication are you on? Since treatment my pain issues in my low back and upper back are horrid, I take hydromorphone in the morning and a demerol at night, it barely takes care of the pain, just the edge off

Your GI will NEVER admit these symptoms as Harvoni related, the best you can hope for is a very good PCP who will take you seriously. Your symptoms are the same as so many others, like myself, one thing is for sure that may help and has helped me is Cramp Defense magnesium, It is the only brand that helped relieve my muscle cramps that are debilitating. Also be aware of any other side effects you have from harvoni, report them all the Gilead and the FDA. Please keep us posted as you progress, I am 2 years post and my back pain increased 100%, many of us are now unable to work due to the side effects. I hope you don't have the same damage as some of us. Good luck and please keep writing on here.

Well... I've been thru since March have been 0 since then..my legs , hip are no better..I'm virtually crippled up. My husband and I feel that harvoni side effects are worse than they told us. Good luck to you. Since I have cirrohsis I'm unable to take pain meds so this is terrible. Nothing works.

Hey Tony...so happy to see your post..I have completed my treatment with harvoni after 3 months...so blessed to be cured but my joints and lower back have pain daily..even though the doctors all say this is not due to harvoni how come so many people!e are having this issue...also I have never had to take blood pressure medicine and now I do....I am very grateful for harvoni and not having hepc..just want to know about post side effects....

Now I'm not absolutely sure, but, I think the HARVONI drained my body of Vitamins and Minerals. After not getting any better, I finally took my old arse to the Clinic and I take B complex injections every Friday afternoon. I also take two Cholecalciferol (Vit D3) every morning. This is Pharmaceutical. Vitamin D. Three weeks into this attack and I am beginning to feel better. I am starting to taste food and enjoying that. Still have a ways to go, but, I believe the deficiency of Vitamins and Trace minerals is the major cause. GET A BLOOD TEST AND HAVE THEM SEE WHAT YOU ARE MISSING !

Wondering if things have improved for you. At my latest physical I asked to be tested for Hep C as I'm a baby boomer. Dr called and said results wre positive with a significant count. Referred me to a GI Dr that treats Hep C. Can't get in until Dec. I already have disability and severe back pain from a fusion. Probably have had Hep C for 45 years and want to try and cure it but this thread has me scared.

Definitely have lower back pain and joint pain...also I am now on high blood pressure medicine which I never was before...I am grateful for the treatment but was not expecting side effects. .my hep c doctor refuses to accept that this is related to the drug...again I am very grateful that I no longer have hepc.

I completed Harvoni treatment about 8 months ago with no side effects. Had Hep C for 15 years with no liver damage, always perfectly healthy. 3 months ago I developed a tender area in the middle left of my back under the ribs. Then chest tightness and gerd symptoms followed, and intermittent numbness in toes & vision issues (loads of 'floaters'). All listed as Hep C symptoms. CT scan shows swollen biliary tract. I'm worried that this treatment had led to biliary tract cancer. Going for HEPA scan in the new year to explore the issue further.

What do you mean by alcohol relapses? I quit drinking 30 years ago and would hate to start again. Probably why my liver isn't too bad.

My Harvoni arrived the day before the big snow. Been afraid to start until after I talked to my Dr my since reading all of this. I had asked Dr last week if there was any hurry to take it and he told me no physically but that I should do it ASAP because I might not get approved down the road. How severe complications are you all having? My dr told me none of his patients have had bad enough side effects to quit.

My symptoms have settled down a little although I have constant lower and middle spine & back tightness and interim gerd symptoms. 5 months now. Feels nerve related, have appointment with specialist coming up next month. Will report any definitive results here if something turns up. Still, very glad to be rid of HepC and these symptoms may be unrelated...

I read that some folks had alcohol relapse
Like you as soon I was told I had hepc I stopped drinking imedietly...that was 20 years ago...have no desire to have a drink now....

Hi I have Hep C due to drug addiction. I've had it close to 2 years now. I'm about to see a specialist, and probably start Harvoni as soon as my medical insurance goes through. I am also on suboxone, and would really hate to stop taking it, because it helps me tremendously with my addiction. My question is, does anybody know if I'm going to HAVE TO STOP my suboxone, once I start the Harvoni treatment?
I can't find an answer anywhere, and no, I have not asked a specialist yet. Mainly because I do not have any health insurance right now. I appreciate ANY help or answers so so much. THANK YOU

This is my 2nd Day and currently been expercibg abdoem pain it was very servere earlier like 5 hrs ago but its mild now has anyone had this some little nausea but not too bads

When I was taking Harvoni, I had mild queasiness and dizziness too, but I found that drinking lots of water helped. The Hep C virus is being killed and needs to be flushed out of your body. Hydration is very important.
