I have been taking Harvoni for 3 months now and am having nerve pain in my legs and lower back pain. Is anyone else taking Harvoni having any of these same side effects as me? Please help if you are able. Thank you

Actually, the methylated B vitamins, mineral complex, modified ketogenic diet (higher fat lower carb), and beta glucans (medicinal mushrooms) were advised by a cardiologist who once practiced typical medicine but has now educated herself and practices integrative medicine as a cardiologist. A lot of what I'm doing right now is to prep my body for the possible neurologic and metabolic damage that seems to occur with Harvoni. HCV causes insulin resistance (metabolic syndrome) which can get worse during treatment and can affect response to treatment. A lot of people develop Type 2 diabetes mellitus while infected with HCV. Monitoring of patients' nitric oxide levels have shown deficiencies during treatment, resulting in extreme fatigue. Neurologic damage takes place at the mitochondrial level (drug induced mitochondrial myopathy). On Gilead's own report, there were cases of elevated creatinine kinase levels, which can result in myopathy. But they don't mention the latter part about myopathy of course. I don't drink alcohol anymore and my enzyme levels have gone down since quitting. My viral count is low, all other levels are back to normal since going on a strict supplement regimen, such as, platelets and WBC. After more research and advice from knowledgeable professionals, I'll decide on which ones to continue during treatment. If Gilead was more transparent about these affects on the body, their doctors could advise better on diet and supplementation. But, they are in too much of a hurry to make tons of money before the next, and better, generation of drugs come out. The are beholden to their shareholders first and foremost, not to us.

I just walked out of cardiology and my new PC. As you all know I only did 2 weeks of Harvoni bit ache all over. So far my RA is quite high now it's off to rheumatology and neurologist. Just what I need. I am exhausted that awful med must have reinacted the hepatitis and left me with RA or some awful inflammatory issues and thyroid. ALL this was normal pre Harvoni.
Just know that you know what you have you don't know if you are going to feel like a wrecking ball hit you over the head and took your life.
Big pharma is in your docs pocket some more then others. Be careful VA, teaching hospitals and/ or other greedy culprits. I would be livid if I were not so weak. There are bad docs and dumb ones bit they are all motivated by $$ some more then others.
Be well and do your homework I should have never gone against my instinct.

NEWDAY: I am really sorry that you are going through such awful, horrible problems because of taking this "miracle" drug. NO ONE should have to go through that.

We should all remember that STRESS will cause body aches and pain all over. Depression is the same. It will help if u can change your mind set. I know. Easier said then done. But we have to suck it up and bet one thing at a time. One way is to not to be depressed cause u r ill and not feeling well. I know when i feel like s*** I will watch tv and let my mind wonder off on to other things that make me happy. Happy thoughts will work wonders, and to help whomever u can and that also will help your mind set for the better. Good luck

I agree with NewDay. NewDay went against her instinct and is now suffering. I am in the same boat. Went against my better instinct and am now suffering long term. Take note potential Harvoni patients. If your gut says "no", listen to your gut!!!!!!!!

This is not good news. I've never been sicker or more back and Edema in ankles knees - not.good. A female friend just texted me a message since we have both been through the Harvoni treatment. Hep c free. Sick the whole time and even worse now. My immune system is shot - I have a sinus infection that will not go away with all the typical antibiotic I normally take. I had back trouble before, L4 and L5 discs ruptured, much worse now. I guess it's time to go after them to leave something for my kids and grandchildren. Good luck my friend. I and others thought it was a miracle med too. {edited for privacy}. I guess we have to kick into high gear. I don't know how I wouldn't have seen this. Guinea pigs......

Do any of you know if people are going through the same kind of things with Sovaldi? Or is this just with Harvoni? I have read on a HepC support page that Harvoni is the more side-effect prone, the "more harsh" of the two...

Day 2 on Harvoni. Side effects after two days are headache, a dull boring headachee, very tired, first day slept on and off for about 12 hours and thirsty, dry mouth. I will continue to post my side effects, God Willing.... The facts with my Hep C, I have no cirrhosis of the liver or signs of it. I have had Hep C since 1978, I had to have contracted Hep C in the Navy, I did drink quite heavily from then until around 2005, other than that I've lived a fairly normal life.. I am in the 12 weeks Harvoni treatment,, there are two drugs in the Harvoni medication which are called --> Ledipasvir 90mg and Sofosbuvir 400mg, these two are combined in one pill which I take daily at the same time. I pray it works and I pray that all the bad side effects I have read about dont happen. As I said at the beginning I will post side effects, I will try to do this every couple of weeks. I decided to take the chance it will cure me and I pray that I dont get all the wicked side efects that I have read about. The VA will see me every two weeks unless I need or ask to see my doctor in between. I will keep you posted..

Sovaldi seems to be the culprit of all our problems. The Solvaldi/Olyisio combo has bad sides as well. I know a woman whose mother died on it. Vibrant/active and then too S/O and died. Although we don't hear about that nor all the deaths from Harvoni. I have FDA reports to prove these reported deaths...dozens of them.

Jim, I took it also and finished my course on 12/22/2015, the date they said i was cured.. for now. The only real side effects was i had a headache for 1 day (wasn't much of one) and was very very thirsty. Sucking on hard candy or blow pops help. The side effects u all have. I had them before treatment. Toes back insomnia all of it. I have major cirrhosis damage like a 90 year old is what they told me. Thought i was dead yrs ago and my Dr at the Va say it was a miracle that i have lived. Disc surgery (4x) Triple by pass. Throat had to be enlarged (3x) coma for 10 days. compression fractures of the spine It has been ruff but i and my mom said there are people that have it worst then you do. Be happy u r alive and living. Take pain meds that helps with those issues but u have to tell the Dr and don't hold back on how you feel. I also consume marijuana to help and it does and it has help with eating and mood improves. Finally they gave me med that has THC to help with eating but i still smoke for mood swings. I am alays happy no matter how my health is. Enjoy the people you have around you and if you don't get compassion from them then maybe u should join a help group. It always helps to talk about it. Good luck to all. TRy not to dwell on your problems. the more u think about how bad u feel. The worst the pain gets. Never be alone when u are in the dumps because of the illness. Call someone that understands and will listen to you. Vent to someone and get it off your chest.

Jamie, God Bless that it helped you. I started this despite reading about all the side effects everyone wrote about, I wanted to be cured. The doctor at the VA in West Palm said that the side effects of a headache will go away, being thirsty is one that will stay around. As I said other than being really tired the first day, day 2 is not so bad. Keeping my fingers crossed. I indicated on my post earlier I would keep up every couple of days letting people know what if any side effects I have. I know after reading them all and I read them all, I was worried, day 2 it hasnt been bad as of yet, so its important to put as many reviews out there so that if anyone is deciding whether or not to take this that they have a variety of reviews to base their decision on. Thanks for your service, one Veteran to another... Stay strong brother!

I encourage you who had or have bad sides to post on Twitter assuming u might have an account. I tell Gilead all the time how some of us were duped. I am about to lose my apt because I can't work. It's not funny it's depressing as hell. The world doesn't want to hear I couldn't work cause of med's. My LL feels my weakness, never been late before with rent and as always we see who our friends are and are not. There is mold in my apt and LL is giving me a hard time about doing any repairs, just when my immune system is weak I feel like I am in quick sand. I also take it personally, trying hard to find a soft landing place spiritually. The greed and power of big pharma. To think that they daily tell investors what to purchase, there will be more (suckers) *****s like u and I who made a deal with the devil and trusted yet again a doc who's best interest was the Dept of the hospital. I can hardly move my neck, back, all joints are really inflamed as I said before, now it's RA and what is more annoying is I have constant "airs" from migraine. I don't have headaches, just a very tight neck and aura. Not a happy place to be seeing lines and wearing shades or dim lights. Even a PC monitor is awful. Weak too, my back is so weak I feel off balance. This is not funny the financial toll that it's taken its hard to keep positive when the world is caving in and our bodies hurt all over.

When I did speak with my doc she said it was the Solvadi or whatever, too lazy to look it up, the other half of Harvoni. If she knew it was she rolling the dice that 3-5 could tolerate? Or did they only want to get ppl on it, PAID for and post treatment you are on your own. It's depressing no one cares. They care about the stock and their shareholders. They either don't know or will not admit that they do. Hard to believe we can type this but don't tell the doc, puleeze. One day at a time, so depressing.

I hear you Jim. I started taking harvoni after i had enough of being sick so I would try anything. Well like i said earlier that i had a few minor problems like headache and thirst and that was about it. I had some many problems before so i can say it is from Harvoni. Also it is good if you are a Vet. I found that they know most vets have body pains and mental health also. so u get more understanding from Va Dr. find the older the Dr is and is a male. well.... they understand what u are going thru. They only ones I have had trouble with are the young women white Drs. well they now teach the Dr to not to give out drugs to people that really it. MY lady Dr said I am at the most she will give out. I take 10mg Methadone 3x a day and she has told that is the max she will give out. That is crap cause we all know we will get use to the dose and will need more. Thank goodness i never wanted to take too much. I every month cut out 3-4 days of no Methadone so i wont get addicted or the urge to have to take it. I don't ever want the govt telling me how to take care of myself medically. So now the govt are telling the Dr how to treat the patient. I know that they are not all Drs but lawyers and they know nothing. Why does a few bad patients are the cause of not giving the right dose. Reading about the drugs. I find that a lot of you guys are taking way more they u should. Pain meds are to relieve the sharpness of the pain. I doubt that we will be PAIN FREE. I was on Methadone years ago and i was on 100mg which is plenty. and maybe a Valium should be given out. u never want to depend on anyone but u to take care of your body. I came to the point i called the Dr out. I would ask him why he wanted me to lie with pain and have a s***ty life. they have no answer and u have to shame them. When i first started with her. she wasn't given me a proper dose. well after a few months of that. I finally had it. The next appointment i took my shirt off and pulled my pants down so she would get the whole picture of my body and not covered up by close. well that sealed that and we have had no trouble since. cause a stink if u must. There are the boards of Drs and groups that u can argue to to make sure that u were getting the right meds. Always complain if u r having troubles. Good luck to u all and I don't know everything. @KKh thanks and thanks to everyone on this site. No one judges some have awful sides some have none and others my very well be dead. I am glad I found this site, the format is easy and we tell the truth. God knows how many people don't even have a computer. Take heed, in time if we keep posting negative sides its a matter of time before the company comes on with GREAT wonderful results LOL. I had to say something funny because you all know that its true. They want to keep a lid on this like no tomorrow oh no sorry for the pun. I am so disgusted I am losing it, I just have no life no zest its awful. something positive to cling to a person who recovered we don't see that. We were used, big pharma and docs we trusted. System failed us and think about it the cost. What nerve? I hope and pray there are never new hep C patients. Imagine the audacity they are angry there are not enough new cases. Amazing. huh, as so many of us were trying so hard. Fighting for years addiction, staying clean, doing the best we could and now a wave came over and washed it all away. That's what I feel like. When I see these people on the ads post their wonderful experience I ask the company to please ASK me, I would gladly tell you my side of the story.

Folks, guys, gals, thanks for caring, sometimes I feel like this is the only thing left. you understand, for those of you who felt a difference and not in a good way, you get it. to the others, I wonder if it really did save you from liver cancer, or something dreadful from Hep C. if a virus is in your body and is in remission for 30 plus years would you really say that's a killer? I wouldn't we woke up a dragon. What dept orders the med before you commit to take it and has it delivered to THEM! That is unheard of and then they protect the doctor and the hospital? Really? talk about unethical. Greed, pure and simple greed. What's next? probably more meds, socially living conditions my home no one cares. My greedy LL can't wait to put me in the street. What a life, I am so saddened and depressed I often feel like it would be kind not to have to wake up to this mess its not going to get better it would take 10 miracles. So much evil in this world, and the way I am speaking this isn't me, the old me would be joking and laughing or finding some spiritual strength. this stuff caused real depression.

If only I listened to myself talk about all this I discussed with the doc snake oil sales person. She and my NP two birds of a feather. Like they don't have enough money, they needed to make extra. Cure cancer cut off your head.

CHEPCFREE: Deaths? OMG, it just gets worse with these drugs. I think I will take my chances with the Hep C at this point. And, yep, now I have a hepatologist who is pushing for me to take these drugs. Yikes.

What about a legal case against gilad? With all of us suffering so much can't we do anything? I know because they won't admit fault etc. it would be hard at this point. The hardest part is getting doctors to admit there is a problem with the drug. I still feel 10 months out worse than I ever did before I took it. Joint pains but the fatigue is the worse. Feel like my life is passing me by but there's nothing I can do. I eat well, take vitamins, etc. If anyone has had any luck with a supplement please let me know.

I do not have access to cause of death. I doubt any doc at this point will state Harvoni is the cause. What I was told was these people were healthy and active before Harvoni and died while taking Harvoni.

That and a lot more. I have a couple of friends who have been hospitalized for much more and they cannot OR will not disclose what is wrong (that is the hospital). Myself - I am sicker NOT better. I thought it was a miracle drug. We are the Guinea Pigs AND the research rats (mine and others opinion). I can not get rid of a sinus infection or any other virus. When it lasts (I completed a 12 week dose January 17th, 2016). Have been sicker since. A mutual friend passed in February. I have chronic diarrhea, lack of energy and more. your symptoms as well. I will be contacting a lawyer for legal action suit if a case is not already started. I thought I understood and was so pleased that i might have more time with my family - especially my grandchildren...
