Generic Subutex/buprenorphine. Ranking From Best To Worst. (Page 9) (Top voted first)

Updated

This is for people who actually take Subutex for the intended purpose for which it is used. So if you actually take the medication sublingually, this thread will help you. I have been taking buprenorphine for three and a half years now. This is what I have found: (8mg)

Best: Actavis 153/half moon (orange)
Middle: Roxanne 54/411 (white)
Worst: Hi-Tech 8/arrow

Again, this is for people who take medication as prescribed. You can actually break the medication in half and put it and the front of your lip like dip & chewing tobacco. It will take longer for it to dissolve like this but you will get much much more of the bupe.

Re: Roxanne56 (# 10) Expand Referenced Message

I know this is an old post but i get 5411 from cvs and it says hikma now and I read they bought out Roxanne, which makes me wonder if in fact they are the same even though they have the same imprint on them. I also read that teva is actavis now, but when picking up at walgreens the label still says actavis on the bottle, all so confusing. I am wondering if they are selling old meds! Also Publix said they have teva and they are orange and I went to their webpage (teva) and they look just like actavis now. They use the sam supplier publix said as walgreens but they say they are teva! At least that whats in the computer, haven't picked up from Publix yet! They are charging half the price of Walgreens as well for same meds! I have only tried those 2 brands. I feel the Rooxane or Hikma (5411) gives me more anxiety, but then again I was having some anxious moments at that time, so I traded them with someone for actavis and I didnt feel as anxious, but my situation causing the anxiety had improved as well.

It's your receptors. They are blocked. You reached the ceiling dose. You could inject heroin and not feel it.. not that I would ever suggest that. Stop for a while and wait till you feel like crap.. might take a week or two and start by taking one mg or less. No joke. 1 mg.

Hello all. I've commented a few times on this thread but have gotten no reply.. At all. I to take suboxone. Have for quite some time. I'm a chronic pain sufferer and have addiction issues. Here in my area it is sublingual strips not the sublingual tablets . this has me curious. The suboxone absolutely DOES help with my chronic pain, it does not alleviate it but makes my days and nights tolerable. I have been prescribed suboxone for a little over 4 years now and still to this day I don't know if I'll ever taper and stop. A big question I have is why does my Dr look at me like I'm asking for some oxy when I ask about these sublingual suboxone pills. Are they better than the strip ? Worse? Or can you actively use other opiates with them? Just curious. Also curious as to why nobody aknowledges my question . or am I just clueless to something others see as obvious.
Signed curious in recovery

Re: James (# 153) Expand Referenced Message

They are phasing out the sublingual pill form of suboxone and soon only strips will be available..I can't answer your question as to why you think your doctor looks at you strangely..he probably isn't..if it were me asking and my doctor looked funny at me, it could just be that we still feel how we felt years back asking..for pain pills..I'm speaking of me ,I take buprenorphine treatment because of addiction, I started back in 2007..I only took suboxone for a short time, I have always taken just plain buprenorphine without naloxone, I don't like the naloxone I never had since the first day I tried it,..I will only take subutex genetics the Rhodes 8mg or the hikma 54 411, I don't know how to answer your question..just wanted to let you know what I kinda know

Re: Charlene (# 154) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks for the reply. I'd say your right about the looks. I ran the pill mill circuit for years and "Dr shopped" many times till I got what I wanted. I've been on this site for a good 4 to 5 years and never really seen the strips discussed. Just the broad generic description putting down suboxone users and the ever-popular, which brand pill is better. It has saved my life and made me functional. I'm so grateful for my primary care physician as he is the one who got me on this track. He asked me one day to let him know when I was ready to get my life back, that he could help me. So I did. He referred me to a Dr and counselor for a no strings consult and the rest is history. Thanks for filling me in. I had no idea about the pills or any differences in them and was just wondering if it was something new or if strips were new. Thanks again.

Re: Staci Burnett (# 21) Expand Referenced Message

I hit a deer on my motorcycle 11 years ago and became an instant junkie in the ambulance on the way to the hospital with that first shot of morphine, I never did a pain pill in my life before the accident, I went from feeling and thinking I'm going to die in 30 seconds to "this ain't so bad" and the Nightmare Began, I learned really fast how to doctor shop, this was right at the end of doctor shopping and I learned really fast that generic #4 Dilaudid suck compared to Name Brand #4 Dilaudid. I got on methadone to get off the opiates and was abusing the methadone and still had cravings, even after I was up to 180mg daily. Then I found the coolest doctor on earth, a psychiatrist woman my age, she was a hippie before becoming a doctor, we would talk for hours and she approved me for medical marijuana after she got me off methadone and on buprenorphine subutex 54/411 for both opiate addiction and chronic pain. Thank God my insurance would only pay for a few months of suboxone with the crap in it and would then only pay for the generic buprenorphine subutex. I found out that the generic subutex works better for chronic pain management than the suboxone with the crap in it. I'm no scientist or anything like that although I'm thinking it has something to do with the naloxone crap.

Why is the one with the 8 and the arrow are rated the worst. I used to be prescribed the ones that had RP on the I'd take a about a quarter a day and it would last all day. Now they gave me the 8 with the arrow. Im imfraid it won't work. And il.be detoxing from my meds.

Re: James (# 155) Expand Referenced Message

Subutex doesn't make strips. Strips are suboxone. This thread is asking people to say which subutex generic works best for them. Since it's subutex, you don't hear anything about soboxone strips. I hope the best for you and glad you got your life back on track

Re: bupeODorol (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Yes it does. The longer you dissolve it the longer it will last. I was able to make one strip into 16 pieces last 16 days by dissolving for over an hour under my tongue

I totally agree with Bigdaddy8485. Im prescribed 2 x 8mg tablets daily an with the hitech (itty-bitty white with arrow) i would have to take 4 -6 sumtimes to feel better. The orange with halfmom are deff top dog and the other with 54 411 following right behind. I had to switch pharmacies an go to town 45 mins away to get better brand as i live in rural area an only 2 maw an pa pharmacies to choice from. Glad i found this cause i thought i was goin crazy. I told my doctor about it but shes didnt know anything bout which brand is better.

Just to add I find your msg a bit judgmental and that's really nuts! You aren't chatting to idiots ! I'm sure some may abuse but that's with anything involving addiction. Anyway...

Re: Mr Tee (# 164) Expand Referenced Message

They sold out to Rhodes but they still have R P on one side (Rhodes/Purdue). I just got the Hikma. I’m gonna give them a try. They have to be better, my pharmacist charged me more for them.

I’ve been on klonopin since I was 16 for seizures, if you tell them that they be so if for that they will keep you on them. I get klonopin 1mg tid and Subutex 8mg tid. Also my phyc meds. My phyc also knows I take both. She don’t care either.

Re: PETEY Pete (# 166) Expand Referenced Message

Almost always it’s required for the doctor to write the brand specific on prescription. Pharmacies will push back and deny other non preferred brands by way of saying they can get their preferred brand.
