Am not Diabetic, no history of Nerve problems in family Then Neurologist started increasing dose and found myself on 4800mg/day before beginning own research, and found I was taking way more than recommended daily dose. I'm being told by many pharmacies over the last couple of months, that they can not get the Greenstone Gabapentin. That Greenstone isn't accepting orders for it, with no reason why. Why is that? What's the problem? ## Hi Laurie, One theory is that the DEA could be involved with Greenstone's manufacturing process, limiting what they produce or ship out. But if the pharmacy is unable to give you a precise answer, this sounds to me like something that should be taken up with the manufacturer directly. Looking on their website it doesn't say that anything is wrong with Gabapentin, so I think it's safe to assume that it should be back at some point. Greenstone's customer service hotline is toll-free and can be reached at: 1-800-447-3360 I hope this helps!
Before I became more proactive than I already was, and I was focused, but not on the right place. Then I started researching the drugs I was on. One of the first was Gabapentin. While I was on Gabapentin before I had first symptoms she began increasing my dose immediately.. I could not figure out where she was going with increasing my dose every time I reported my symptoms were progressing. It had originally just been my feet. Then my legs, with hyperesthesia of my knees, specifically to cold and barometric changes., onto a pelvic floor disorder, essentially pressure on the pelvic floor, with pressure on the Pudendal Nerve. All the while reporting this to my Neurologist, who instead of asking to see me, increased my Gabapentin. Then suddenly my teeth went numb, my scalp tingled, I had h...
I have very recently moved towns and therefore got a new doctor. he has different views on my dose and instead of going with my ex go plan of gradual increase he wants me to decrease to nothing. I have severe nerve damage due to long term H use. I'm clean and have been for 4 years but I know that gradually at the moment even my symptoms are coming back and it's a living hell. Badly in need of constant ministered supply. what can I do?
UpdatedI have nerve pain from shingles, what is the best compounded topical cream too use. ## Hello, Roger! How are you? I really can't say, compounded creams require a prescription from your doctor and are prescribed according to what they know works best according to their experience with other patients. Thus, there is no set ingredient list. It can vary from doctor to doctor. However, many people with this issue benefit from something that specifically treats nerve pain, such as Gabapentin, either topically or orally. It is an anticonvulsant that also treats some forms of nerve pain and mood disorders. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, to the oral form may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, mood swings, dry mouth and weight gain. What has your doctor advised you to use? ##...
I was taking 100mg twice a day. My Dr. upped it to 100mg three times a day. I've been taking this for four weeks now. My eyes have been burning for over three weeks and I've had the feelings of my skin crawling for the past two weeks. Today I've been having trouble breathing, my chest tightening, and burning sensations in my face, eyes, hands, feet, and throat. Within 30 minutes time I've had round, red lesions popping out on my face, head, arms, legs, feet, and hands ## Hello, Tamisena! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having. I think you need to see your doctor, or go to an urgent care or ER and have this checked out. That sounds like you may be having some type of allergic reaction and the trouble breathing is especially concerning, b...

I take 1200 mg of gabapetin a day, 1 mg klonapin for sleep. From my rheumatogist. My pcp put me on ibuprofen 800mg every 12 hrs. And also lidoderm 5% patches. Will there be any side effects from the ibuprofen 800mg. And will I have any problems getting the new presciptions filled by my pcp. Just got the new scripts. ## Hello, Lynnda! How are you doing? Neither the Ibuprofen, nor the Lidoderm are controlled substances, so there shouldn't be any issues, just make sure that both doctors are aware of all the medications that you're taking and the Mescape database doesn't list any problems or interactions between these medications. The Ibuprofen is list3d by the FDA as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased r...

What does this pill make you feel like I'm curious to the side effects ## Hello, Rhonda! How are you? This capsule contains 300mgs of Gabapentin, which is an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat certain types of nerve pain and as a mood stabilizer. Thus, if you're expecting any of the effects of a narcotic analgesic, they will not occur, since it is not related to them and doesn't work like they do. The normal side effects for this medication may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you...I don't usually take other people's medicine, b/c for the past 25 years I stop taken them...started realizing on body reflexology...but for some reason the pain I was having won't go away....I only took fo...
I was in a car accident several months ago and currently take Gralise (1200mg once a day), Meloxicam (15 mg once a day) and the Mini Pill (for endometriosis). I'm having severe nausia (likely related to endometriosis) and burning in my throat (likely acid reflux) so I can't eat much. I desparately need to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy (for GI issues) and laperscopy (for endometriosis). However, I was told I need to be off these meds for at least one week before these procedures can be done. And I need to taper off gralise. Plus, I'm turning 40 and want to have a baby and my egg supply is low. I'd like to get pregnant asap, but I'm worried about pain being too much from accident and the effects these meds may have on fetus. I'm obviously not going to take meds...
Is there any other medication that can be used for back pain that is not addictive ## Hello, Bud! How are you? Yes, there are others that might help that aren't habit forming opioids. Some anticonvulsants, such as Gabapentin have been shown to help with some types of nerve pain. Typical side effects to them include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain. Several of the SSRI antidepressants have also been known to help, they carry side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, weight changes and mood swings. Another category would be the nonsteroidal ant-inflammatories, such as Meloxicam. Typical side effects may include nausea, headache, dizziness, stomach pain and increased risk of bleeding. However, they do not work like opiates and are not as potent. Is there...
I was taking gabapentin 400mg 2x a day. Dr bumped me up to 600 2x a day, and I feel unsteady and wired in the head. Will my body adjust to it? Also he prescribed klonipin 1mg at bed. ## Hello, Kim! How are you doing? Yes, it is normal to experience side effects, any time your dosage is raised and they should taper off in about 4 weeks or so, once your body gets used to the new dosage. Typical side effects of Gabapentin may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain. Klonopin is a benzodiazepine that's most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders, though it can also help with insomnia.
