Yes, there are others that might help that aren't habit forming opioids.

Some anticonvulsants, such as Gabapentin have been shown to help with some types of nerve pain. Typical side effects to them include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain.

Several of the SSRI antidepressants have also been known to help, they carry side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, weight changes and mood swings.

Another category would be the nonsteroidal ant-inflammatories, such as Meloxicam. Typical side effects may include nausea, headache, dizziness, stomach pain and increased risk of bleeding.

However, they do not work like opiates and are not as potent.
