This Furosemide I have is probably 7-8 yrs old. Does the compound change or do you think it gets weak? Thanks! I hope you can help.

Hi Jo,

When it comes to drugs and medication I believe it is best to not take any chances with the past expiration date. They may still be ok to take if they haven't been exposed to a high amount of heat or various other conditions outside of the bottle, however I am not a pharmacist or MD, so I cannot guarantee if it is safe for you to consume.

I would recommend contacting your local pharmacy or doctor to assess if the quality of the drug still remains. They may have certain tools or methods for measuring this sort of thing.

I take 40mg of furosemide once a day.... I ran out of the prescription and drs. office has not refilled yet.... but I also have 20mg of furosemide which were given to me also (they over lapped the prescription).... can I take two 20mg to make up for the 40mg while I wait for the refill?

Is it safe for a human (adult female) to take prescription Lasix (Furosemide) 40 mg that was originally prescribed for a dog? It's a round white pill with an imprint of ep 117 40.

I received my prescription of Lasix (Furosemide) 40 mg from the web and when it came it looked ok, but the tablet has no markings on it and it came from Combitic Global Caplet. Are they legit or are they fake?
