Fill Oxycodone Prescription (Page 32) (Top voted first)
UpdatedCannot fill them anywhere in Bradenton or Sarasota. Please help I have a real doctor and the pharmacy I have been going to the past year in my city says they will no longer fill out of county. Does anyone know of a pharmacy in Bradenton or Sarasota that can help a patient fill qty 180 oxycodone 30mg? Please help. On the verge of getting deathly ill w/out meds! Thank you.
To do mail order, what company?my Dr. always works with me.Is it more costly?Do you know webite ?
I WAS JUST TOLD TODAY AT WALGREENS THAT THEY HAVE A NEW PO.LICY AND THEY WOULD NOT TELL ME WHY I DO NOT FIT THE CRITERIA FOR FILLING MY SCRIPT ANY LONGER AT ANY WALGREENS. THIS IS INSANE... HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD THIS AND DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE CRITERIA IS..
I ran into the same "policy" problem and until I escalated it thru the store manager and threatened to take it to the area supervisor of pharmacies they flatly refused. But when I said I would take it all the way to corporate if I had to they changed their minds.
I am 61, in chronic pain from cervical stenosis and other spinal problems.... go to a legitimate pain clinic and had a legal script.
They had the Oxycodone in stock but refused because my doctor was out of the area.... ( 6 miles away )... I raised hell about the treatment I was receiving and was resolute in my objections.
The policy is that it is entirely up to the on duty pharmacist whether or not to fill the script. They have a BS criteria that alienates the patient and gives the pharmacist the power to decide who gets the drugs.
I wrote a letter to Walgreen's office in Deerfield, Il whose address and box number I got by calling the 800 Walgreens # and connecting with customer service. I suggest that everyone of you that uses Walgreen's do the same thing.
I documented each conversation I had during my "problem" and suggested that they revisit their new "policy".
I got my script after a 48 hour wait... but, I got it!

I know most of you probably don't want to get off pain meds because they do the job and you are able to live comfortably on them and it isn't fair that the govt. is controlling our lives like this, but that's exactly what they are doing and its coming directly from the white house... The govt. is restricting and shutting down pharmacies and doctors everywhere from doing things that they have been able to do for years. The fact is the 'popular jury' has decided that these drugs aren't good for anybody so they are in the process of shutting it down completely, except for cancer patients and for people "they" consider it to be necessary for, like terminally ill people. The govt has set up doctors everywhere that sell suboxone which is a wonderful drug as far as keeping you coherent and able to work etc. because it completely prevents withdrawals!! I know because I am now on it... Its expensive as hell and the govt is making a killing on it most likely, but it works and is a wonderful alternative! It allows your dopamine to naturally come back so that you can deal with your pain better naturally. You will still hurt, but trust me, its a whole lot better than going without meds!! I've been on a TON of high dose pills for most of my life and suboxone has saved me from the hell of not being able to find my meds, and all of the other horrible hell they are putting us through!! So, I hope all of you find relief and at least try it!! You can find doctors everywhere if you go online to "heretohelp.com"... Good luck to everyone!! This sucks!!
I know some people who have taken the Sub's, and it appears that as long as you take it short term to ween off the opiate it may work fine. The problem is those who decide to take it as a substitute Pain Reliver over an extended period of time (which many may do).
While withdrawal was more painless for the short-term patient, long-term users may experience the same effects as any other opiate. In fact, two people I know said that the Suboxone gave them worse DTs than the 30mg Oxys they used for years, with the WD symptoms lasting much longer.
This could be true for some since Suboxone, just like Methadone, has a longer half-life, remaining in the system much longer than most 4-6hr opiates. And as much as I respect doctors, use your own judgement if making this switch; it appears some docs are prescribing on an on-going basis. I can't tell you how many times I've been told a certain drug was safe, only to discover that any extended use resulted in some sort of WD. .
No kidding...they'll probaby tell us later that it causes kidney failure or something to that effect..I don't think many things synthetically man made are good for you! But its readilly available and its an alternative to going thru withdrawals cold turkey, not being able to function and lose your job etc. You can taper off of subs slowly and much easier and not have very bad wds from them if done slowly. They don't get u high and u don't crave them like other opiates..I have only been on them for a little over two months and haven't had the nerve to try to stop yet so ill let ya know how it goes! Lot of it for me is mental..my pain is full force so the subs do nothing for pain other than allow ur body to learn hoe to heal itself to be able to naturally deal with it again. ..
May I ask which Walgreens? I live in Venice and My Pain Management Doctor is accross the street from Sarasota county and he is in Charlotte county. I went to my regular pharmacy inVenice and they cant fill because it's a different county. We all know that going to every Walgreens and CVS what answer that we get and the nasty treatment. They look at the script and imediatly hand it back and "i don't feel comfortable filling this for you" "NO we don't carry this" No,NO,NO!
I broke my back, compound fracture, broke my neck, my nose, they had to sew my big toe back on, had my nose restructured, broke my elbow, pulled me out of the car with jaws of life and spent 3 months in the hospitol where they flipped me every 6 hours on what was a striker frame. 4 years later I had 9 hour sugery and 3 blood tranfusions. I have only started Pain Management 2 years ago. I am not emotionaly equiped to get in and out of the car 10 times a day to be treated like I am a junky. I cry my eyes out at the end of every day because people are so mean and nasty when they ENJOY saying "no". They have no idea what I have been through and nor do they care? The hard part for me is getting in and out of the car. It hurts and it's painful and the nasty workers at the pharmacy just don't give a sh#t. I suppose Florida haas limited the amount of medicine that they give to pharmacy's? or are they all lying? I think it's easier to buy them on the street?
Anyway, I am happy to hear that you had such luck with Walgreens because they are the cheapist.
Good luck to you. Nice to hear that somebody is now pain free tonight!

Hello, from your post I'm just assuming your a pharmasist, I was wondering if you could answer a question for me, do you know of such a law that would prohibit a pharmacy from filling my c2 prescription because me doc. is cash only and does not take me insurance which is medicare. I have been going to the samw walgreens for over 3 years now, I don't go anywhere else to fill any other meds from my other doctors, & last month my favorite pharmist told me they could no longer fill for me due to the reason i stated above..Any answers would be greatly appreciated!! thanks dee
I had a similar problem when my doc, although in a different town, was only 6 miles from the store. I wrote a letter to the corporate office of Walgreen's - Customer Relations Dept. and they called me.... I had them refer my letter to the District Manager of Pharmacy and he called me. He said that although they do have a geographic criteria, some discretion should be used and in a situation as mine, I was unfairly treated. He apologized and assured me he would take care of the problem.

I have misplaced their addy, but call them and they will give it to you. The more of you that will call/write them the better. They can't help the problems with the DEA right now, but they do have a new distributor ( Their Jupiter, FL plant is still on restriction) and can get the medication. He said it is NOT THE POLICY OF Walgreen's to LIE or treat the customer without respect. Any case of this happening should be reported. The more complaints they get the more likely that they will do something about it.
They are under severe scrutiny of the DEA and are very careful.... any of their pharmacist can refuse to fill a narcotic script, but it is base on their FEAR of the DEA.... not so much the policy.
Report how you are being treated to them directly.... then tell us about it and how it was handled.

Thank you ever so much for the info. , I am calling them today.!! Happy Holidays...dee
Dee... it is against the law to file your insurance/Medicare if your doc is cash only.... however, the pharmacy has to charge you cash for the script.... not refuse it completely.... definitely report this.
Really good person needs help filling script today in Lee County, thanks.
I CALLED MEDICARE ON THIS ONE & THEY SAID IT WAS OK IF I WENT TO A CASH DOCTOR, IT DID NOT MATTER, AS LONG AS THEY COVERED THAT MEDICINE, IT SHOULD NOT MATTER WHAT DOCTOR I GO TO EVEN IF THEY TAKE CASH ONLY!! WALGREENS HAS BEEN FILLING RHEM FOR YEARS,WITH MY CASH DOCTOR, & MEDICARE HAS BEEN PAYING FOR THEM!!
Dee... thanks for the research on Medicare... I have a Meicare HMO and they do not cover cash doctors.... maybe I should check into it more. My doc has a notice posted that Medicade has this policy. Maybe the Pharm is confused between the two.
What you looking for Lou? Depending on amounts and types etc will depend where I can help {edited for privacy}
Yep that's exactly right the pharm mainly mom pop sell Roxie's to the dealers for cash!!
I DO NOT HAVE AN HMO, I HAVE PART A, B, & D, ALSO MEDICAID...
IN THE BOOK THEY SEND ME EVERY YEAR IT TELLS ME WHAT MEDICATIONS ARE COVERED AND HOW MANY
