Cannot fill them anywhere in Bradenton or Sarasota. Please help I have a real doctor and the pharmacy I have been going to the past year in my city says they will no longer fill out of county. Does anyone know of a pharmacy in Bradenton or Sarasota that can help a patient fill qty 180 oxycodone 30mg? Please help. On the verge of getting deathly ill w/out meds! Thank you.
sure lou, let me risk my freedom and risk losing my pharmacy and introducing you who i dont know. lol merry xmas and good luck
ItsThursday going out of town friday for cmas with pay 100. to someone with a place to fill my script to in fort myers cape coral area today.
Try Walmart- I was getting 180 oxycontin 20 mg with 6 daily Lortab 10/500 to take when the pain was so high and I couldn't yet take another oxycontin.
May I ask which Walgreens? I live in Venice and My Pain Management Doctor is accross the street from Sarasota county and he is in Charlotte county. I went to my regular pharmacy inVenice and they cant fill because it's a different county. We all know that going to every Walgreens and CVS what answer that we get and the nasty treatment. They look at the script and imediatly hand it back and "i don't feel comfortable filling this for you" "NO we don't carry this" No,NO,NO!
I broke my back, compound fracture, broke my neck, my nose, they had to sew my big toe back on, had my nose restructured, broke my elbow, pulled me out of the car with jaws of life and spent 3 months in the hospitol where they flipped me every 6 hours on what was a striker frame. 4 years later I had 9 hour sugery and 3 blood tranfusions. I have only started Pain Management 2 years ago. I am not emotionaly equiped to get in and out of the car 10 times a day to be treated like I am a junky. I cry my eyes out at the end of every day because people are so mean and nasty when they ENJOY saying "no". They have no idea what I have been through and nor do they care? The hard part for me is getting in and out of the car. It hurts and it's painful and the nasty workers at the pharmacy just don't give a sh#t. I suppose Florida haas limited the amount of medicine that they give to pharmacy's? or are they all lying? I think it's easier to buy them on the street?
Anyway, I am happy to hear that you had such luck with Walgreens because they are the cheapist.
Good luck to you. Nice to hear that somebody is now pain free tonight!

No kidding...they'll probaby tell us later that it causes kidney failure or something to that effect..I don't think many things synthetically man made are good for you! But its readilly available and its an alternative to going thru withdrawals cold turkey, not being able to function and lose your job etc. You can taper off of subs slowly and much easier and not have very bad wds from them if done slowly. They don't get u high and u don't crave them like other opiates..I have only been on them for a little over two months and haven't had the nerve to try to stop yet so ill let ya know how it goes! Lot of it for me is mental..my pain is full force so the subs do nothing for pain other than allow ur body to learn hoe to heal itself to be able to naturally deal with it again. ..
I know some people who have taken the Sub's, and it appears that as long as you take it short term to ween off the opiate it may work fine. The problem is those who decide to take it as a substitute Pain Reliver over an extended period of time (which many may do).
While withdrawal was more painless for the short-term patient, long-term users may experience the same effects as any other opiate. In fact, two people I know said that the Suboxone gave them worse DTs than the 30mg Oxys they used for years, with the WD symptoms lasting much longer.
This could be true for some since Suboxone, just like Methadone, has a longer half-life, remaining in the system much longer than most 4-6hr opiates. And as much as I respect doctors, use your own judgement if making this switch; it appears some docs are prescribing on an on-going basis. I can't tell you how many times I've been told a certain drug was safe, only to discover that any extended use resulted in some sort of WD. .
I know most of you probably don't want to get off pain meds because they do the job and you are able to live comfortably on them and it isn't fair that the govt. is controlling our lives like this, but that's exactly what they are doing and its coming directly from the white house... The govt. is restricting and shutting down pharmacies and doctors everywhere from doing things that they have been able to do for years. The fact is the 'popular jury' has decided that these drugs aren't good for anybody so they are in the process of shutting it down completely, except for cancer patients and for people "they" consider it to be necessary for, like terminally ill people. The govt has set up doctors everywhere that sell suboxone which is a wonderful drug as far as keeping you coherent and able to work etc. because it completely prevents withdrawals!! I know because I am now on it... Its expensive as hell and the govt is making a killing on it most likely, but it works and is a wonderful alternative! It allows your dopamine to naturally come back so that you can deal with your pain better naturally. You will still hurt, but trust me, its a whole lot better than going without meds!! I've been on a TON of high dose pills for most of my life and suboxone has saved me from the hell of not being able to find my meds, and all of the other horrible hell they are putting us through!! So, I hope all of you find relief and at least try it!! You can find doctors everywhere if you go online to "heretohelp.com"... Good luck to everyone!! This sucks!!
I WAS TOLD LAST MONTH THEY HAVE NEW POLICES, THAT THEY CAN NOT FILL FOR ME ANY LONGER, BECAUSE MY DOCTOR IS A CASH ONLY DOCTOR & DOES NOT TAKE MY INSURANCE, WHICH IS MEDICARE, I ALSO HAVE MEDICADE, I'VE BEEN GOING TO THE SAME WALGREENS FOR OVER THREE YEARS,HAVE A GREAT RELATIONSHIP WITH MANY OF THE PHARMISTS, I CALLED CORPERATE & THEY SAID THEY DID NOT KNOW OF THIS POLICY, THAT WAS ABOUT 2 1/2 WEEKS AGO WHEN I CALLED, & IT WAS TOTALLY UP TO THE DISCRETION OF THE PHARMIST, & THAT THEY STAND BEHIND THERE PHARMISTS 100%, WTF??, IF IT'S OK WITH MEDICARE , WHICH IT IS BECAUSE I CALLED THEM TO, THEY SAID IT SHOULD NOT MATTER IF YOUR DOCTOR IS A CASH DOCTOR OR NOT, THEN WHY CAN'T THEY FILL OUR SCRIPTS, A BUNCH OF BS!!!
I ran into the same "policy" problem and until I escalated it thru the store manager and threatened to take it to the area supervisor of pharmacies they flatly refused. But when I said I would take it all the way to corporate if I had to they changed their minds.
I am 61, in chronic pain from cervical stenosis and other spinal problems.... go to a legitimate pain clinic and had a legal script.
They had the Oxycodone in stock but refused because my doctor was out of the area.... ( 6 miles away )... I raised hell about the treatment I was receiving and was resolute in my objections.
The policy is that it is entirely up to the on duty pharmacist whether or not to fill the script. They have a BS criteria that alienates the patient and gives the pharmacist the power to decide who gets the drugs.
I wrote a letter to Walgreen's office in Deerfield, Il whose address and box number I got by calling the 800 Walgreens # and connecting with customer service. I suggest that everyone of you that uses Walgreen's do the same thing.
I documented each conversation I had during my "problem" and suggested that they revisit their new "policy".
I got my script after a 48 hour wait... but, I got it!
beaux
I WAS JUST TOLD TODAY AT WALGREENS THAT THEY HAVE A NEW PO.LICY AND THEY WOULD NOT TELL ME WHY I DO NOT FIT THE CRITERIA FOR FILLING MY SCRIPT ANY LONGER AT ANY WALGREENS. THIS IS INSANE... HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD THIS AND DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE CRITERIA IS..
To do mail order, what company?my Dr. always works with me.Is it more costly?Do you know webite ?
I say it's the DEA we "sue." It doesn't have to be about money. We need to insist on procedures and policies that do not cause harm to legitimate pain management patients. It's the DEA paralyzing the manufacturers, distributors, and pharmacies. That is the bottom the line, and the target. Perhaps it's more a policy battle, but I am sure we can start at the legislature with a savvy lawyer.
the problem with a class action lawsuit is who are you going to try to sue. the drug makers, the distributors, or the pharmacists. they cant pin this on one particular pharmacy...its everywhere and pharmacists have the right to say no to anyone they wish to regardless of the situation. ive been doing and going through the same thing along with thousands of others doing the same as me..suffering.
best option is to try to get mail order. i have insurance but it doesnt cover mail order unfortunately.
my buddy is still getting his roxicodone 30mg and 15mg pills by mallinkroft.(actavis was the brand almost everyone in florida were getting until this summer)
i have seen some doctors writing the script now that some months have passed on so this is somewhat encouraging news. with as many problems as i have, i will have no trouble getting back to roxies in the future once my settlement happens and i can afford better insurance and be able to move to a larger county with more than 2 doctors in this area. they switched everyone to either ms contin, oxycontin, methadone, or percocet. these doctors here got together and just arent writing them at least here. i cant goto my buddies dr since hes not taking new patients. its a horrible situation and just hope it will get fixed asap. but my friend who actually is less disabled than me but he gets his roxies mail order 3 months at a time and he just renewed the rx and got it in the mail. so they are filling mail orders if you have a willing doctor to help you. the main problem now is not only are the pharmacies not filling the roxies but not even filling percocet or anythin even if they know you. this really sux and i wish a lawyer would take it up but then who do you sue...im sure if it were an open shut type thing, there would have been a attorney who would have already taken this up.
Hi Donna - I am 51 years old, suffering with psoriactic arthritis and pustular psoriasis. I am a mother of two young children and need my pain medicine to properly have a functioning quality of life. I cannot take the life threating alternative medicines such as biologics. I have been emotionally tormented by pharmacists as they treat me as if I am a drug addict. I am at the point of hiring an attorney. Please keep me posted on your efforts and I thank you for them. If there is not a class action law suit in progress there should be.
thats right...the pharmacies think and act like drug dealers on street.
dont be surprised if the reason roxies are still on street cause a few or many pharmacists only sell to those they want to like 19-20 yr old drug dealers
2 privately owned pharmacy's in hollywood won"t fill rx if you have ins. When I reported poste hate pharm to medicare their response was they were out of generic. bs I changed to towne drgs who said they got very few from the drug co. but the man in front of me paid about 1200 dollars cash and filled his rx. they first advised me to have my dr write for something else and when I called to seeif they would now fill the ms contin I got the same bs.\I have much history and documentation re my pain. its all about the money.Actually when I spoke to the owner of ph pharm, because they had been filling my rx for some time, he said what would you do in my position. medicare should not be allowing them to only fill rx they consider cost effective. when i was in the medical feild if you accepted medicare you accepted there pay and you could not discriminate on what or who you could treat. I feel the pharmacy should not beable discriminate either and thatis what they r doing. what makes them different then the street dealers. the street dealers don't take medicare either.
This attorney represents Walgreens. Maybe he could help?

A class action law suit needs to begin asap against the DEA and complicit pharmacies who are interfering with the doctor patient relationship. This is medical malpractice on part of the pharmacists! Please, we need a good decent lawyer to stand up for all chronic pain sufferers. This is happening all across America!
roger- pick the phone and call the medicaid number toll free to see if they will even do a mail order.
if they do mail order then i dont see why not...just gotta make sure the online pharmacy will do it through medicaid also. ill be going through this same process with medicaid for disability shortly...let me know what happens plz...that way ill know too. thanx
