Cannot fill them anywhere in Bradenton or Sarasota. Please help I have a real doctor and the pharmacy I have been going to the past year in my city says they will no longer fill out of county. Does anyone know of a pharmacy in Bradenton or Sarasota that can help a patient fill qty 180 oxycodone 30mg? Please help. On the verge of getting deathly ill w/out meds! Thank you.

I have thought the same thing about a Class Action Lawsuit.Little Background:i have had 4 lower back surguries and have a scs(spinal cord stimulator) implant,which has gone bad and needs removal.I had it pretty good because a had a good relationship with the pharmacy manager at Walgreens.I considered myself one of the Lucky ones.Well, my luck has run out and she has left Walgreens.I went last month and they would not even fill my morphine.Had to go someone else and forfiet over half,I have tried to stretch them out.I am scared whats going to happen this month.I have been going to walgreens for 22 years,same medication for 12years.They gave me "don't feel comfortable"line.Now I was told that they have new policy,that they contact Dr.(no problem,same Dr. for 12years) and have you fill out paperwork for the DEA.I told them no problem.So they said I should have no issue.However,I scared that won't be the case.I just found this site today,this shouldn't be happening to us.We never asked to live in pain.We are being judged and profilied.IT IS WRONG!!! does anybody know where that "don't feel comfortable"phrase came from?

@Dee...I was told yesterday that my Dr office had to accept health insurance (which they do) BUT one pharmacist said they have to physically bill the insurance company and accept a copay. Since I do not have insurance, I'm not sure how it works but I know they have encouraged me to get insurance but pre-existing is too costly! ALSO, I was told it will be a few hours process and my doctor has to be checked out as well as the patient and once they find out why the patient is prescribed the medicine.they will decide if it's medically necessary ..WTF

Hi Donna, I have not read any further once I saw byour post ...so I don't know what the latest is... but we certainly need Advocates to help Chronic Pain patients who are being left without pain medications, all because the DA is cracking down on drug addicts ! There has been an INCREASE in Suicide amongst Chronic pain patients due to the unbelievable and unbearable efforts they have to go through each and every month just to fill RX's that are legitimate and much needed in order to lessen their pain just to bend over to put their socks and shoes on! And alot of Pain riddled people live completely alone...and their pain medication is the ONLY thing that makes it possible to get it up out of bed to walk to the Bathroom or Kitchen for Basic Needs.

HELLO, TYTSON, THANKS FOR GETTING BACK TO ME, WELL I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET MY SCRIPT FILLED THIS THURSDAY, BUT AS MY PHARMIST WASUTTING IT IN THE COMPUTER, ALL OF A SUDDEN SHE SAID MS. DEE WE HAVE A PROBLEM, WALGREENS HAS A NEW POLICY, SINCEOUR DOC. DOESOT EXCEPT YOUR INSURANCE WE WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO FILL THEM FOR YOU AFTER THIS, WHAT THE F..., I HAVE MEDICARE & MEDICAID , I HAVE HEARD THE SAME THING FROM ONE OF THE NEW EMPLOYEES THERE LAST YEAR, BUT I'VE STILL BEEN GETTING IT, NOW THEY SAYING IT'S CHANGED & THEY HAVE TO INFORCE IT, WALGREENS NEW GUIDELINES?? I HAVE ASKED MEDICARE ABOUT THIS, AND THEY SAID IT SHOULD NOT MATTER IF I PAY CASH OR NOT, IS LEGAL?? DOES CVS HAVE THE SAME POLICY? THEY already have the reformulated time er release oxycodone its called oxycontin.(not trying to sound like a smartass) the formula from what i read is not going to happen but youll only get future roxies through mail order approved and faxed from your dr office starting jan 1st. noone else will get them so unless your in good with your dr and he will get you this by signing like he did for me last month than the companies wont fill em until leave sdr office.
that new formula is not instant release and the current formula is called oxycontin. which im sure you know. think bout it. percocet is 10mg oxy, instant release pill. same goes for roxi...not reformulating them unless going to compete with oxycontin? where did you see your info...send it on reply so i can read it. i was told this from my dr. thanx

Do you have ins??????? I just mailed my scrip with a signature required to Cigna RX mail order and had no problemds getting Dilaudid 8mgs. Now I am in GA and it is crazier than FL. I have been referred to 2 pain management centers and 1 would not take me as they only do non medication management procedures. WTF?????????

PINELLAS COUNTY.. a RX Pharmacy called DOCTOR'S CHOICE, or DC Pharmacy are Very Expensive!
they have 4 pharmacies in the Tampa Bay area and charge $7 a pill for oxy 30mg..
they are leaving post cards with the info in Dr Offices around Pinellas County.
They DO take Insurance so they can charge a crazy amount and get paid for being a legal drug dealer.
a pharmacist said to get Fentanyl.. because the Percs,Oxy, Morphine and Dilauids are getting harder to find at local Rx's like the Oxy have been

and said. also it "should" be soon that the supply of the re-formulated oxy 30mg ER will be available..
true? i dont know, i hope it's soon..monthly crawl is stressful

dee-unfortunately no. the best answer for ya is MAIL ORDER ONLY for roxies is whats going to be happening as noone wants to carry them anymore. if your like me with no insurance that covers mail order my dr asked me if i wanted morphine, oxycontin(time release roxi) or 10/325 percs(way to low strength when i used to get 30 mg roxi 2 every 4-6 hours. now im on oxycontin with percs 10/325 for breakthru cause no mail order. most people are getting switched to dilaudid but not me until i find better dr. oxycontin is good but expensive. and lasts only 8 hours not 12.

BEEN GOING TO THE SAME WALGREENS FOR YEARS, EVERY MONDAY OF OF THE MONTH I GO I'VE HAD NO PROBLEM GETTING MY MEDS, OXYCODONE 15. MG 150 TAB. , WELL THIS PASS MONDAY I WENT, AND MY PHARMIST SAID THEY HAD NONE, & I HAVE BEEN BACK EVERYDAY SINCE WITH STILL NO LUCK, SO I ASKED MY PHARMIST IF IT WAS OK TO GO TO THE CVS DOWN THE STREET, SINCE I AM IN THERE COMPUTER AS WELL FROM QUITE A FEW YEARS BACK, HE SAID YES, SO I WENT THERE, AND THE PHARMIST SAID THEY HAVE REACHED THERE QUOTA FOR THE YEAR, WON'T BE GETTING ANY TIL NEXT YEAR, & HE ALSO SAID WALGREENS HAS THE SAME DISTRUBUTOR. WELL MY PHARMIST SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE A QUOTA, THERE A 24HRS STORE AS IS THE CVS, WHATS GOING ON HERE ? DOES ANYBODY KNOW, WILL WE BE ABLE TO GET OUR MEDS, FOR THE THE REST OF THIS YEAR??? I'M IN SEMINOLE COUNTY/WINTER PARK BORDER IN FLORIDA, ANY ADVICE??

Hi Bridgette, so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. My prayers go out to you. You sound like an amazingly strong tough cookie, I'm sure with your positive attitude you will concur & kick this horrible disease's booty. Also to you all in Tampa the pharmacy I go to now tells me he will not be able to even order oxycodone from his distributor till after January 1st. Gosh I sure hope THIS is true. Not doing to well with the opana. But it's all I can get, for now. I'm so sick of hearing all the excuses & hearsay, I'm sure you all as well.

WALGREENS now says no OXY over 120 count.. in PINELLAS CO.
MEDICINE SHOPPE on East Bay DID FILL with 2 Non-Narcotic scripts of Flexiril and IB with the OXY and Methadone, Xanax.
scripts can not be OTC like vitamins etc. only that can be gotten in Pharmacy.

Donna, I hope you can help us. I have RSD and have been a pain management patient with a very ligitimate doctor for several years. I spent two entire days this week trying fill my (also very legitimate) prescription of percocet 10/325, to no avail. My usual pharmacy, Walgreens, says they are out in South FL because of distributor issues. I have called at least 20 Walgreens and most of them have reiterated this. The other pharmacies I have tried do not have the quantity available, if they have any (the most available was ~40 at a Publix), and by law they are not allowed to fill only a partial script I am told. When I tried to venture out of my area 10 miles, I was told the DEA recommendations are to only fill scripts if the doc or you live in the immediate area, so that failed, too. Since CVS has also had several issues with the DEA, it seems a waste of time to even try them. Without hesitation, every one of them I've tried said it's not available when they heard "percocet." I have NEVER had a problem getting my script filled. Any other person on any other medication can get their legit prescriptions filled. Why do they want us to feel like a pariah? It is bad enough struggling daily with chronic pain. How can this possibly be happening? There are no words to describe how criminal this is. I have added my name to this petition and hope everyone else does, too. I am writing my legislators, too. What else can we do? Tell me and I will do it.

Jay Leno, I feel your Pain, The additional Cost, stress and aggravation that Walgreens and other pharmacies are putting on Chronic Pain suffers is unnecessary and needs to be dealt with on a Higher level than you and I. I propose a Class Action Law Suit against the pharmacies that are lying and treating us like Drug Abuser and Street Druggies. The FDA has placed so much Pressure on the pharmacies that now the pharmacist are lying and coming up with canned responses such as "I don't feel comfortable filling this Prescription" if any other industry or business did this it would be discrimination and unconstitutional. This situation has gotten out of control and needs to be handled by an experienced Attorney that wants to make this right via Class Action Law Suit. I am in the process of getting together a Website for petitions and will keep the board updated. I spent 3 days in pain last month driving to over 30 plus pharmacies to find my Oxycodone 10/325 and Oxycotin 10mg. Getting in and out of the car, waiting in line and then watching the pharmacist read all the Notes in the Computer, I felt like Elaine on the Seinfeld Episode where she had a Rash and each doctor had her previous doctor's medical records, they read her chart and said, awe Ms. Bennett I see that you are a difficult patient...... Lets sand up for our rights. Happy Thanksgiving All.

Thanks so much for your quick response and setting my mind at ease but I'm asking them to take both sides out since I have nodule on right also and just don't want to take chance and have addl surgery later. Sorry to hear about your other cancers I have uterine currently and have the routine blood work and chemo one left and taking luprondepot for it and adnemyosis so I'm hoping I don't have it in any other major organs currently. Thank you again. :)

Sorry to hear about your cancer. I was dx'd in 92, lump found during routine physical, had surgery the day before Thanksgiving. Mine went fine, most are small and contained if caught early. My sister had same about ten years after me. Hers went fine also, neither of us had to have chemotherapy. She did have to take thyroid I don't. They usually just take half of the gland and if your other half produces enough you will just have to be tested each year to make sure all is well. It is one of the easiest cancers to have taken care of if caught early. Recovery is not bad, scar is not very noticeable after a few years. I have since had uterine cancer, ovarian cancer and lung cancer all with good results from surgery. If they caught it early you should do fine, prayers for you, don't panic, listen to your Dr. And good luck

I am currently in Seminole, FL. Been here for 10 days. I am down here till April, then I am going back to PA. I tried to get my prescription filled today from my doctor up north, and all six pharmacies told me they were out. I asked my Walgreen pharmacist up north if it will be a problem getting my prescriptions for schedule II pain mess filled and was told no. You are in our system, and have been for 12 yrs now. No problem. So here I me, about to run out of medication. I have to fly all the way home tomorrow to get my med. I called the Walgreens corporate office today, and they gave me another number to call. I called it and the lady told me that Florida law prohibits pharmacies from filling prescriptions if its more than 5 miles from prescribing physicians office. I looked it up and found no such law. It does say they are required to legitimize the prescription if the pharmacist doesn't recognize the client. All they would have to have done in my case was look in the computer and would have seen I have been a client of theirs for the last 12 or so years, and get my med on a monthly basis. So I am flying up tomorrow to get it filled, pay for a car rental, hotel room, then fly back. It'll cost me over 500.00 unnecessarily to get my medicine.
