Fill Oxycodone Prescription (Page 15)
UpdatedCannot fill them anywhere in Bradenton or Sarasota. Please help I have a real doctor and the pharmacy I have been going to the past year in my city says they will no longer fill out of county. Does anyone know of a pharmacy in Bradenton or Sarasota that can help a patient fill qty 180 oxycodone 30mg? Please help. On the verge of getting deathly ill w/out meds! Thank you.
I THINK YOUR POST WAS AWESOME, & I TOTALLY AGREE WITH WHAT YOU SAID, TRY TO STRETCH OUT YOUR MEDS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, IF YOU HAVE TO GO DOWN A TIER TO A LOWER MG, THEN TRY IT , IT MIGHT BE EASIER TO FILL, STICK WITH THE SAME PHARMICES, IF THERE OUT WHEN YOU TRY TO FILL, JUST GO BACK AGAIN EACH MORNING TO SEE IF THEY HAVE COME IN, AND A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR PHARMIST'S IS VERY IMPORTANT, THEY'LL LIKELY TO HELP YOU OUT AND MAYBE CALL ANOTHER STORE FOR YOU, MY PHARMIST HAS DONE THIS FOR ME, SHE'S OUT ON SICK LEAVE RIGHT NOW & I HOPE AND PRAY SHE IS DOING BETTER, SHE'S ALWAYS TREATED ME WITH RESPECT...THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR OPINIONS WITH ALL!!
Fred I hear ya! I haven't been able to fill my script for ove 3 week now. It's so had to take the rejection from 40 different pharmacies. yes 40. I have been without for 3 weeks now so I am trying 4 to 8 pharmacies at a time. the emotional toll it is taking on me is?,well you can ask my boyfriend! lolol. It's not really funny.
But I yes I am in REAL pain. I broke my back in a car accident and spent 3 months in a hospitol. also broke my nose, foot, elbo and compound compressed fracture in my back. when doctors see my MRI they always tell me I am one of the worst cases that they have. I dont want another surgery so this is the only way I can get in and out of the car. I walk with a limp beacause of the back pain that I experience ervery minute of evey hour is so not even for words to describe.
Before I found pain management I was a mess.
for 2 years now i have been on medication that gave me my life back. But now I am back to square one.
I can't move without pain. So anyone comes on this site and refers to usa drug addicts? doesn't sit well with me.
Sandy, the Pharmacy that's been filling for u for the last 2 yrs..... What do they say to u? Why can't they continue to fill for u? I agree with what someone else said earlier. Forget going to dozens of Pharmacies. Strictly go to 1 or 2 EVERY DAY. (Almost to the point of annoying). Show them that you are not going to give up, and that you aren't one of the hundreds of other people that go from place to place. Maybe you need to show them that YOU PICKED THEM and YOU want THEIR SERVICE, and you are counting on THEM for their HELP. That's how I finally got my prescription filled. I was persistent in visiting the pharmacy closest to me every day. I just hope I'm as lucky next month. I
wish you all luck!
Well what happened was I was going to the same doctor for 2 years and the same pharmacy. Unfortunatly
My doctor was arrested.(i was even on the local news showing uo to my apointment and the DEA was there.)
Anyway I found another doctor but unknowingly he was 5 minutes out of Sarasota and in Charlotte county. He a harvard grad and has excellant credentials. I brought my script to my old pharmacy(walgreens) and they wont fill because it's a different county. I don't like to switch doctors or pharmacies but know I am in a rock in a hard place. Not every doctor would take a new patient without their old file and my old file is locked up with the DEA because my old doc was arrested. This new doctor was willing to take me and cot me 375.00.
I called the new doc's office and they wont help me get a script filled. I am now waiting for CVS to mail me my script. A few people on this site said to meail it ti them and I even called them. Only to find another dead end.
Thanks for asking
Laura, I too have chronic back pain from years of manual labor work in warehouses. I know what your husband is going thru and believe me I have called every lawyer, news agency, etc. trying to get some justice for us law abiding pain sufferers. sad part is they all say they can't or won't help unless I am DEAD. Pretty sad huh? If you die from withdrawals your family might get paid n some lawyer gets paid n we just die... I have a wife and 5 kids to support in this crappy economy and all the government, etc is worried about is screwing with mine and your meds.
Purdue University will help with oxycontin (long term help) if you can wait to set up an account and 10-14 days to mail. The legislature or whatever has totally blocked the sale by pharmacy in Florida. Personally, the ones that caused this mess for those of us in legitimate Pain (Car accidents- etc) will only continue to use the illegal path and buy heroin! Are we dealing with Morons or what?!!!!
I just wanted to update everyone on how my doctor's appointment went yesterday. I spent an hour & a half with my doctor explaining to her how hard it had become in just the past 2 weeks to even get my prescriptions filled and the excuses the pharmacists have been giving me, ie. I don't reside in the same county as my doctor, although I live in the Four Corners area of Clermont (Lake, Polk, Osceola, & Orange Counties). 2 miles either way & you're in a different county. I live in Lake County & she is in Orange County, about 25 miles from my home. She's been my doctor for YEARS & I've used the same pharmacy (Walgreen's) since 1992. And, how the pharmacists have even suggested if I use 1 of the 4 doctors in Clermont that they have a personal relationship with, they would fill my meds, no problems. And even going as far as calling me a drug addict & my doctor a drug dealer (which is the furthest thing from the truth)! Needless to say, my doctor was very hurt & p*ssed off by all of these excuses & accusations that she called the attorney for her practice while I was sitting right there. He even said that what these pharmacists are doing is wrong. My doctor is a GREAT doctor who follows & implements every new law & procedure before it even goes into effect. She requires ALL patients to sign contracts requiring them to use the same pharmacy every month & also that any abuse of medication will result in the immediate dismissal of that patient. We are also fingerprinted and mandatory drug tested monthly. She's a part of the state's E-EFORCSE Florida program. She passed her Department of Health/DEA inspection in an hour & a half. She is also 1 of only 200 pain management doctors of outstanding practice, in the State of Florida, that is invited to the seminars that are held every 3 months by the state's new Pain Management/Drug Enforcement (DEA) Board to update the good legitimate pain management doctors of all the new rules, law changes, & procedures. She attends every one of these seminars & implements every new law change/procedure in her practice. She has gone above & beyond what is required of her by the State of Florida. So you can understand why she was hurt & p*ssed off by the "drug dealer" accusation. I had another MRI done yesterday (cervical & lumbar) which shows ALL but one disc in my neck is herniated, bulging, ect and 2 discs in my lumbar with the same problem. This, along with all of my other medical problems for which I have been disabled from since 1995 & on SSD/Medicare since 1997. My doctor gave me copies of my MRI reports, my medical records with my medical disabilities listed, and personally wrote a 1 page letter to the pharmacists explaining her concerns for them refusing to fill legitimate prescriptions that she prescribed for her patients. I took this paperwork along with my prescriptions to a Walgreen's in Orlando, whose regular policy is that you MUST live within a 5 zip code radius in Orlando (which I do not) for them to fill any controlled prescriptions. I explained to the pharmacy manager all the problems I have been having with my regular Walgreen's and gave him my paperwork & he personally accepted my medical records, the letter from my doctor, and my prescriptions, including the ones for long-acting & short-acting pain medications. This pharmacist was very sympathetic & compassionate to my situation and agreed to accept me as a new patient at that Walgreen's location & fill ALL of my medications. In doing so, this pharmacist gave me back my peace of mind, relieved a huge amount of stress/anxiety for me & my family, & gave me the ability to care for my 5 children with pain levels that are tolerable (though not always) with the help of my pain medications. Thank you, Mr. Pharmacist! And to all of you, I would suggest that you get a copy of your medical records along with a letter from your doctor explaining your medical problems & treatment and take it to a pharmacy manager & explain your situation with them. Like this pharmacist told me, 9 out of 10 patients lie to them & they see a lot of people with fake MRI/medical records that they just get fed up & would rather not deal with it at all. Prove to them that you have a legitimate doctor and that you are a legitimate patient with legitimate pain. It really sucks that we even have to prove this to someone other than our doctor, but when you have thousands of drug addicts/dealers seeking drugs from a few bad doctors (Pill Mill Doctors), we the legitimate pain sufferers/patients suffer the consequences of their stupid actions & have to then prove ourselves to the pharmacies to be a legitimate pain sufferer/patient with a legitimate doctor. Good luck everybody. I hope this information has helped you! :)
Latitia..the Purdue Patient Assistance Program is great. My husband lost his job last year and as a result of that, we lost our health insurance. My prescription for Oxycontin 80mg cost right around $1800 a month and at that time my Medicare Part D plan did not cover it and I could not afford it. My doctor told me about the Purdue Patient Assistance Program and gave me the application for the program. Most legitimate pain management doctors should have a copy of this application or you can call and ask them to mail you an application. The doctor will need to fill out a portion of the application, as will the patient. Along with the application for Purdue, I also had to submit my prescription, my previous year tax return, proof of address, a copy of my drivers license & social security card. It took about 3 weeks for them to approve it, but once it was approved I had no problems. The membership is good for 1 year from the date of enrollment, unless you have Medicare part D, then it's only good through December of that year. In December 2011 (Medicare open enrollment), I had to find a different Medicare Part D plan that would cover it for a co-pay of $50 or less. If I could not find a plan that would cover it, they would continue to fill the medication upon re-enrollment. I did find a Part D plan that covers this medication for a $0 co-pay, along with all of my other medications, so I'm no longer using Purdue. It is a great program and you never have to worry if you'll be able to get your prescription filled or not. I would suggest using Purdue if you have a prescription for OXYCONTIN and you can not afford it and you do not have health insurance. If you have health insurance, you can apply, but only if the prescription is NOT covered by your health insurance, your co-pay is MORE than $50, or you have reached your insurance gap. They do have income limit guidelines (for a family of 7, I could have income up to $106,500 & still be eligible). I would send my prescription to them every month by mail with tracking confirmation. They will fill the prescription every 28 days and FedEx overnight it back to you at no cost to you, but you must be home to sign for it. The phone number for the patient assistance program is 800-599-6070.
FYI..THIS IS FOR OXYCONTIN ONLY!

Does anyone in Michigan know where I can get a rx filled for oxycontin written in another state? I cant find a dr here to write them for me so my old dr in pa. will still give me the script but I can only fill it in Pa. I live in Michigan so I cant drive to pa every month to fill it. (he gives me 6 month supply of paper scripts) I am so pissed off about this. I do not abuse them. I called about 20 different pharmacies and they have no reason they wont fill it. It's a legit script. They can verify it with the Dr. What gives? any pharamcists answer? Thanks
Absolutely ridiculous that people with real pain issues cannot get medications needed to control their pain because the FLORIDA DEA can't get a handle on their jobs. This is the REAL problem in a nut shell. Not everyone living in Florida is a drug dealer or drug abuser.
Been there. I suggest you atleast stay home n try to sleep. If it gets to bad go to the ER and let them know.
My last time I did want to die. Best thing is to stay in bed until you either get your meds or get done. Good luck.
Michael, how r things going?
Horrible!! This is only day 2 and I feel like I wanna just crawl into a ball an die!! Im tryin to get through it, I finally got to talk to the nurse at my doctors office, but doctor wont be in til monday!! I have a 3 yr old from prev. marriage that I have til tomorrow, so hopefully when she goes back to her mom, then maybe I can go to ER for help....i hate not being able to give her the attention she needs, :(.. I just hope this is over soon...
Ps-no oxycodone in sun city, fl....i just drove up there today...
Michael, where do u live? Maybe someone on here can suggest somewhere or give some advice... I feel your pain... So very sorry. I know how bad it is. Do u have a 1/2 Xanax you can take?? Try and take some vitamins including B12, and take HOT bath!!!! What about the Pharm you've been using for last 3 yrs? Have you been using 1 place all aling? Why can't they fill or call another place who can?
Yes ive been using the same pharmacy for 3yrs. An no xanex... I think all the pharmacys are scared to do anything to help with all the new regulations the DEA is putting on them, sadly...im disabled too, paralized in my left leg from a motorcycle
accident, but lucky to be alive...i just want this pain to go away... :.(..
Jeremy, your post seems a little strange to me. I have to see my pain Dr. once a month, every 30 days, why would they not give you an appt. until Oct? Maybe you need to change pain Dr.'s.
Mike, day 3 n 4 are the worst. Once your kid leaves get some excedrin PM n sleep. that is the only way besides the ER. good luck
Posted a reply to Jeremy which I now see as being posted too late (oops). But I do have some thoughts to put out here. Maybe the system is different in my state (AK) but here we HAVE to see the pain Dr. every 30 days, there is no 2 or 3 month wait to get in. My Dr. also requires that I use the same pharm for all my scripts so you can't go to different ones. I don't take oxy's, I am on Fentynal, narco's for break through pain, neurotin, xxanx, copaxone. I have been on the same dosage for 5 years, no need to increase. When my pain gets worse I have the spinal injections, which I HATE but if that is what the Dr. says will help, then that is what I do. They DO help me, I have noticed some saying they don't want them. I also go to P.T. when the Dr. orders to try to build up the core muscles.
My pain Dr. says the problems started when they (the Dr.'s) let the insurance companies start dictating care. He gets very upset when the insurance won't cover something he knows works for the patient (oxy's) and demands they prescribe something else, so then you have a month or two of TRYING something that doesn't work to get back to what works for the individual patient. My Dr. says the whole situation is going to get worse as more of the Obama care goes into effect. The insurance company, medicare, etc., are starting to control our health care instead of the Dr.s trained to do so and it will be all about saving money and not what the best treatment might be for the patient.
I am afraid to move from where I live because of seeing the hassle people have to go through to get needed meds. Not to be too political, but everyone really needs to think about who they elect to office. Do we really want the government telling our Dr. how to treat us? So far it has not been working out very well as shown by this blog.
Of course all the addicts, pill mills, etc. have added to this problem. I know that it would be easier for me to go buy oxy's in the alley then to try to get them from my Dr. as they have such a high rate of abuse. I could not tolerate the oxy's which is why I am on the Fenytnal patches and I thank God for that.
I feel sorry for all legitimate pain patients who have to go through this but change will only come when we decide to make change happen by using our votes. Call, write, whatever, your elected officials and THINK before you cast your next vote. The pill makers didn't just decide to change the way oxy's are formulated, they don't decide how many to send each state, they have been threatened by the Government to make these changes due to the amount of abuse that goes with these drugs.
Good Luck all..............MNRET
Yeah thank god I dont have her this weekend...my friend came through for me big time, he gave me a suboxin and puffed sum good green with me an it helped so much! Its good to have good friends on your side, I dnt feel like s*** and I got my appitite back!! If it stays like this I think ill get through it ok...
Ok say it gets so bad I have to go to ER, what can/will they do for me??
