We called many with No luck. I don't remember who I called . I know I searched class actions but not one lawyer would take case. So we are handling this our way now.

I became disabled in 1995 and won my SSD with Medicare case in 2001, retroactive to 1997. I've been using Walgreen's since 1992 & I was just recently informed that they would no longer fill my prescriptions, because I do not live in the same county as my Doctor. I live in the Four Corners area of Clermont & my Doctor is in Orlando, 20 miles from my home. The Orlando Walgreen's will not fill my Rx because I do not live in Orlando & the Clermont Walgreen's will not fill them anymore because my Doctor is in Orlando. The pharmacists gave me the names of a couple different Doctor's in Clermont and told me if I used one of them, they would fill my Rx's, no problems! That is BULLSH*T! I have used the same Doctor for years and I have never had any problems before now. She's a GREAT Doctor & does EVERYTHING by the book! I've tried over 30 different pharmacies since then, and they will NOT fill my Rx's because I'm not a regular customer, even though I explained to them what was going on & I would be willing to bring ALL of my Rx's back every month if they were willing to fill them. I just joined your FB pages & signed the petitions. I would love to be in the protest you're planning. Thank you for caring so much and fighting on our behalf!

THATS WHAT I MEANT TO ASK, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP, AS I TO HAVE MEDICARE, AND HAVE BEEN GOING TO THE SAME WALGREENS FOR ALONG TIME, JUST RECENTLY HEARD THEY WON'T FILL FOR CASH ONLY DOCTORS WHO DON'T TAKE YOUR INS.,MY NEXT APPT. DEE...My pain management doctor is cash only, they do not take any insurance. I also have an appointment on Monday. Her office has their legal department investigating Walgreen's for refusing to fill patient's meds. I haven't been given that excuse from any Walgreen's yet. Only that I must use a doctor in the county that I live in & that they have a personal relationship with. As a matter of fact, one of the doctors they referred me to in Clermont, is a cash only doctor. I just contacted another pharmacy in Clermont that is willing to fill my Rx's, but they are a new pharmacy & just opened, so she has to order them. She did tell me that she's tried ordering the oxycodone, but can not get that one in stock. As for my long acting pain med & my other meds, she can get those in.

DEAR MELLISA, I SO APPRECIATE YOUR QUICK RESPONSE,THAT LET'S ME KNOW IT'S NOT EVERY WALGREENS THAT IS IMPOSING THAT NEW POLICY, I FIND IT REALLY STRANGE THAT EVERY WALGREENS HAS DIFFERENT POLICES, I'LL JUST HAVE TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS MONDAY,IF THEY ACCEPT YOUR INSURANCE , WHICH IS THE SAME AS MINE, AND IT'S RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE THEN HOPEFULLY I SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM, IF,!!! THEY EVEN HAVE THEM, I'LL UPDATE YOU MONDAY, GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND...GOD BLESS

No problem, sweetie. Good luck. When I called Walgreen's corporate office to complain, they told me it's up to each individual pharmacist to use their discretion as to whether or not they want to fill the prescriptions. But regardless, they stand behind their pharmacists & their decisions 100%. I wish U all the luck! :)

Deborah, when you mail it in to CVS do you knowif you have to have insurance? Because when I mailed my script to Walgreens they said they were going to fill it but then they sent it back because I didn't have insurance or walgreens insurance.( or somethng)
So I took your advice and mailed it to CVS (thank you). They did say on thier website that they will mail schedule 2 prescriptions as long as an adult is home to sign for it when it arrives. Now I am scared they will mail back because I don't have insurance?
Did you use insurance? or were you able to charge?
Thank you for any info!
Much appreciated

Wow! Let us know how it goes mailing to CVS, the last I looked at their website there was a warning right at the bottom of the page that said "we can no longer mail Schedule II meds." But as we all know well, rules change with these a------- every 5 minutes...Anyway come back and please post on the outcome! THANKS!.......K

SANDY....Gosh, I hate to be the bearer of gloom and doom, but I just went to re-check on their website and if you go to home page and click red button for new prescriptions and look to the right in the middle of the page, it says" We can no longer process or fill schedule II medications at this time" , then it gives you a drop down menu for examples of SchII and on that page it does sound like they will mail them, but, if you look on the prior page it is in big red letters........sorry......just wanted to tell you so you can make plans not to run out....K

Melissa, out of the blue about 18 this ago, after using the SAME Doctor and SAME CVS for the SAME perscriptions for over 5 yrs, I was suddenly told that because my Dr did NOT accept Ins. and was a "cash only" Dr, along with the fact that I was NOT being prescribed a "long acting" med, that they were NO LONGER going to fill my scripts. CVS said that because my Dr didn't accept Ins. that they considered her a "pill writer", and not a "legit" Dr. My Dr did NOT write "long acting" scripts for her patients because (from past experience), she came to the conclusion that when her patients had bouts of "severe" pain, they would take "more" (not feeling the med), and OD. As far as I know, the big chain pharmacies will not fill unless 1) you are on a long acting, besides just the Oxy 2) Dr takes Ins. and is not "cash only" 3) live within 5 miles of
pharmacy. (Although these "rules" seem to change every week.) Also, apparently the Pharmacist has to be "comfortable" filling. (Which who really knows what that means..?..... Mood, Time of day, Race, Color.... Etc. Anyways, thanks to for for staying connected. Let's keep eachother updated as much as we can.

My Name is Anna I have so much pain and it is sad for all of us who have legitament disabilities and have to live with pain every day due to all these new laws where pharmacists try to act like doctors and they have no idea of our conditions, diagnosis's, medical problems, etc. but still stereotype you and tell you what your doctor should subscribe you when they don't even know your condition. It is so sad that I'm a mother of four and can't even get up from bed because of the pain that i endorse on a daily basis due to all the new laws and regulations that are so unfair to us disabled who live in pain every day. My doctor takes my insurance and he's In the same county as my pharmacy. Lupus, RSD, screws and rods in disks that I lost in my back, and still many more health conditions and can't get my medications. Sad what this world is coming to.
Truly in pain,
Anna.

Are you sure about mailng them to CVS? how recent were yu able to ge them from the mail? A few people on this site said that you can order by mail from CVS. Then someone else just said they wont mail a schedule 2 script. Do you think they are still able to do it by mail? If so this would be a life saver. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't found one pharacist to fill them. I try about 10 different pharmacies a day and no luck.
I have even repeated the same ones.

Anna, what town do you live in, how long have u been using your current Dr., does he accept Ins., and what meds are you having trouble filling? Maybe if you can post some more of the problems you're encountering in more detail, maybe someone will be able to suggest some ideas.... ? Worth a try...

There are alot of problems with misinformation going on here. Before I cover a FEW, ill let u know that I have Spina Bifida, have had surgery to detether my spinal cord pulling on my brain(amongst MANY other extremely painful ailments).I ALSO LIVE IN FL.So I KNOW WHAT REAL PAIN IS, that being said-PEOPLE R DIEING!they are overdosing at alarming rates. There has been an epidemic of "pill mills",drug abusers & drug addicts of proposterous proportions here in FL.Its important that u educate urself on whats going on HERE.The DEA IS DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO END THIS,SAVE LIVES&send the message out that FL IS NOT OPEN FOR ILLEGAL PILL PURCHASES ANYmORE.Its important that u build &maintain a constant positive dr/patient, patient/pharmacy relationship.I also have been turned down at 3 diff pharms for my medication.I NOW DONT WAIT UNTIL IM ALMOST OUT, take 1/2 if u think u may run into trouble,ITS BETTER THAN NONE!.Do ur best to work with thesepharmacies right now &ull see them come around to helping. They r under the gun bigtime. They will not risk their DEA licence for u, legit or not.We as patients with real pain HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS BEING DONE FOR A REASON,PEOPLE R DIEING! Alot of people. If u havent been able to fill ur meds for a month, consider it a gift from GOD...YOU R OFF THAT DRUG!! Talk with ur DR & If u still need something, heres ur golden opportunity to now go DOWN IN A DRUG CLASS OR STRENGTH.Then watch how much easier it is to fill ur script. I KNOW ITS HARD! God knows that I know the pain.Try & make your mind stronger then that particular medicine.YOU GET THE MEDS FOR PAIN RELIEF RIGHT? So if u can get a different med easier &its helping with ur pain. Then give it a try!U are helping urself & showing ur dr that u mean business with needing pain relief. If it gets rid of ur pain, give something DIFFERENT A TRY.That being said, the fastest way 2 put up red flag under ur name & always have problems filling is to run all over town to many diff pharms.Stick with 1 or 2 MAJOR CHAINS, THEY WILL CALL OTHER STORES TO HELP U IF UR OUT TO LOCATE WHAT U NEED IF U ARE A LOYAL,UP&up good customer.Good luck.People please THINK AHEAD HERE.Dont wait untill u r out!

Work together, I agree with most of what you said.
I was in a terrible accident where out of 4 people, including my husband, I was sole survivor. I feel "blessed" somewhat that my life was spared, and I know how much worse I could have been left; However, living with Chronic pain, as you are well
aware, is hard enough "with" meds. Most of my pain comes from C4,5,6&7; In which I've been putting off surgery where they want to remove 2 discs, fuse 2; and then 6 months later do it again. They say I have a 50/50 chance of "felling some relief".... And that's not even mentioning my Lumbar. Being that I am 41 (with 2 small children), the Surgeons feel that I am too "young" to consider those odds. I've been on these
meds for about 7 + yrs. After being with the same Dr all the while, they suddenly "red-flagged" her because she didn't accept Ins and didn't prescribe a "long acting" (due to "impatience" of patients to feel the meds and take more for relief, only to end up "accidentally" OD'ing. Anyways, my family wound up moving, so I needed to find a new Dr anyways. I had used CVS to fill my scripts all those years. After my move, I wasn't familiar w/ my new town and just decided to go to a Walgreens I saw. They filled me for 5 mths, no problem. The following time I went they didn't have and had no idea when and if they would have again. I asked them to call around for me. They stated that it was "against their policy" to do such. I left there and found a CVS. The Pharm at the CVS had the medications in stock, but did NOT want to fill mine for 2 reasons. 1). Because I had been using a Walgreens for the previous 5 months. (Even though CVS had filled me for 6+ yrs prior to my move.). And.. 2). Because he said he needed to save for his other customers. Because I am "new" to the area, NO ONE wanted to take my scripts. I do NOT want to change my meds. Others medications I have tried in the past have made me completely useless. (Too drowsy to do ANYTHING). What kind of mother would that make me?!? The people who are taking them for "Recreation", can still pick them up on the streets, or they'll turn to something stronger, mark my words. I also agree w/ my former Dr., that I do believe we will see more people "accidentally" OD'ing, from people not having relief from their "breakthrough/immediate" medication, so they'll probably take "more" and more frequently than they should. Also, I've read other posts' of people predicting of street drugs on rise. I do believe that there were a lot of Dr.'s "over-prescribing", and being "cash only", to profit anyway they could. However, the DEA is making it near impossible for the legit patients to get their "much needed" meds to function throughout daily life, and I'm sure (as others are witnessing already), that the suicide rate will be on the rise. Living with chronic pain is unbearable, and there are people who "will NOT" succumb themselves to do that. The Pharmacists' should NOT have the right to have the "last word" on whether the person gets their prescriptions filled that day or not. They have "Cart Blanche" to say to customers that they do NOT feel "comfortable" filling their scripts (for whatever reason).
Anyways, it's just my "opinion" that everyone's making decisions for the patient, and the sole "decision" of what patient uses for their particular problem and the relief gor it, should be the "sole discretion" of the patient and their Doctor. God Bless to all !!
7 yrs.

before anyone gets high n mighty let's look at the big picture. read the post. I had the same pharmacy for over 3 years. I know the manager by name. he's the same guy that looked me in the face and told me he will not fill for my doctor? if you are out for a month you go thru withdraws. I have n would not wish that on my worst enemy. if people r dying they r abusing... bottom line is if they did not have oxy they would do something else to get high. I have a drug addict in my family n know first hand they will take anything to get high. if your not going to help stay off the page.

Donna, I am beside myself right now. I am having to watch my poor husband go through so much unnecessary pain and suffering at someone elses hands that is not a Doctor. He is a chronic back pain sufferer, who for years has gone through all kinds of different procedures and medications until finally getting the right combination of meds that gave him back some qualityof life. This combo includes oxycodone 30 mg. We have been all over our town of Sarasota, Fl. and can not find it at any of the pharmacies. He had come so far and now to see him going backwards is just cruel and inhumane. There must be something that can be done. I really would love to see him get his quality of life back. I have been contemplating a law suit; would I sue the pharmacies, the state of Florida or who for practicing medicine without a license, cruel and unusual punishment, and unnecessary pain and suffering. This should have never been allowed to happen.
