Cannot fill them anywhere in Bradenton or Sarasota. Please help I have a real doctor and the pharmacy I have been going to the past year in my city says they will no longer fill out of county. Does anyone know of a pharmacy in Bradenton or Sarasota that can help a patient fill qty 180 oxycodone 30mg? Please help. On the verge of getting deathly ill w/out meds! Thank you.
im sorry everyone...ive been in your shoes loved the blues aka oxycodone 30s and then I had a burst fracture in my L1 vertebre, now rather than b****ing and crying day after day month after month I simply got on a different pain med. simple. I KNOW you cant abuse it but swallowing a morphine or even methadone pill works too so no simpathy from me
Please post an email address so those i terested can send you their story. also, what is the name if your group?

In order to combat this situation you all need to understand the position of the Pharmacist and their actual role in healthcare.
It is not the Pharmacis't role to simply dispense medications pursuant to a legal prescription without scrutiny. I'm sorry if you feel this way, but you are uneducated with regard to the pharmacist's role. Most of us have gone to school for 8 years and have doctorates in pharmacy and any pharmacist without a doctorate would have years of experience and expertise.
If you believe our role is simply to dispense medications as written without a second look, ask youself this question. If you were getting an Rx for a cardiac medication that the physician wrote for you and you were on another medication with a significant interaction and the pharmacist just dispensed them to you without notifying you or the physician and it resulted in your death or in serious harm, would you not sue the pharmacist? You would want him/her professionally hung for not protecting you and rightfully so.
There is another thing most of you are incorrect about. "Most" Oxy, Xanax, Soma seeking patient are not legit. The majority are drug seekers and the minority are the real deal. How do I know? Because my legit patients dont show up in cars full of people. Because my legit patients dont wait until Friday when the Dr' Offices are closed so we cant call to verify Rx's. Because my legit patients are taking a combination of medications that "make sense" and prescribed by physicians who are practicing evidence based pain management.
There is absolutely no reason why someone should be prescribed OXY 30mg for chronic pain...None. Oxy 30mg should be reserved for terminal patients that require severe acute pain control. Chronic pain patients should be managed with a Long acting pain medication such as Oxycontin/MS Contin/OpanaER/Fentanyl, etc. with a lowere dose immediate release pain medication for breakthrough pain.
The root of the problem is the Junkies, those losers who are screwing it up for everyone else. The ones who are selling these medications to school aged kids and making a killing on the streets. That is the root. It makes me sick, that the DEA has put so much pressure on me to scrutinize Rx's that I could be denying legit patients pain control just to cover my ass, but I have too. My family comes first and it should for everyone on here.
I work at a small independent pharmacy. I dont have to financial resources to fight the DEA so I have to make decisions to protect myself and my business. We no longer take new patients from out of town. We dont controlled sunstance Rx's early at all. All of our chronic pain patients are required to be on a long-acting medication for pain control.
I spend my day scrutinizing rx's of all types. You think your Doc never makes a mistake? I have saved people's lives by catching errors on orders in the Hospital and in the retail setting. I do care about people. I recognize there is a serious problem and there are legit patients suffering and having difficulty filling their prescriptions, but what should I do? Just fill every script I get? Then the next thing you know someone is walking in my door and shoving a gun in my face, because they know I have a crap ton of Oxy in the back. Sound far fetched, it happens... We are in a bind, we have to protect ourselves as pharmacists and healthcare professionals. I spent a lot of time and money getting my doctorate and I can't afford to lose it. Would you risk everything to help me out? You dont even know me and you wouldn't risk one weeks pay let alone your entire career. You certainly wouldn't risk your ability to feed your family and keep a roof over their heads, not for me you wouldn't.
Great idea, there are power in numbers and we need to flood our state legislators with our concerns, problems and solutions. We are not numbers, these are living breathing people in pain who need these meds, I know people who are not in pain do not or cannot understand what we go through. I will be happy to send you my story and the history of all the BS I have had to got through the last ten years as the laws get tighter and tighter every year making it harder and harder to get my meds...Thanks for the suggestion, I am a firm believer in going through law makers and passing legislation to get things done. The problem is it seems to always be the negative voices that are heard, the pill mills, dr. shoppers and abusers, the oxicotin express from Fla. to the Carolinas, TN. and KY. and the people who have real problems suffer for it all....
You know. Someone should create a privately owned, membership only national database for pharmacies. The hell with the state monitoring programs. If you are legit and need the meds, pay for a program that monitors your dispensing history and proves you're a legitimate pain patient. Your doctor would submit your physical visits and diagnosis. Your pharmacies would submit all controlled meds into the database. The doctors and pharmacies would have access to the same information in the same format. Similarly to how insurances know all your visits/transactions, but this is for cash paying customers. Come to think of it, we could use an insurance companies current technology, like medco/caremark/express rx/etc, to monitor you fills. You must agree to submit all controls to them or you can lose your privileges. This would keep the honest people honest. Just a thought.
If you are a legitimate chronic pain patient and living in Florida and are having trouble getting your prescription/s filled, please send us your story. Please describe as much as you feel comfortable disclosing relating to your condition, the reason for the refusal, the pharmacy involved. Please let us know if you have been forced to go to the ER as a result of inability to get the prescription filled or have been forced into withdraw. Please let us know if you have been forced to go to a smaller pharmacy where the price can be as much as three times higher than the chain pharmacies. Let us know how often this happens to you, what impact it has had and document any future issues and send them in so we can share them with legislators and congressman. Please include a statement that allows us to use your name to congressman and legislators ONLY. Your story but not your name may be shared with our advocacy group but NEVER with the press. Please pass this information along. We also need to know if you are being treated as a “common druggie†either at a pharmacy, doctors office or hospital. We believe there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ADDICTION AND DEPENDANCE. …..{edited for privacy}
i will help if u know where we can go i am new here n every pharmacy has turned me down hit me on my email im in the nw cape with a car
Master P, Do you have insurance ?I'm waiting on answer for ssd.I use to oreder through mail when I had insurance. My Dr. will do fax ,need to know if they are billing insurance or cash? Thanks
Walgreens nationwide just instituted a new "good faith dispensing policy." If you go to Walgreens, take a copy of your diagnosis code with recent physical evaluation. Walgreens is under a lot of pressure from the DEA. If you have any questions about what you need to do before getting a Rx filled, call them. It sucks, but if you work with them, they will fill your Rx.
And BUY BITCOINS and order drugs online, LOL!!!!!! jk
I'M A 54 YEAR OLD DISABLED FEMALE, WHO HAS SEVERE BACK INJURY, I'VE BEEN GOING TO PAIN MANAGEMENT FOR ABOUT 2 1/2 YEARS, I HAVE MEDICARE & MEDICADE, I GO TO CVS, SO FAR NO PROBLEMS, DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THEY DO MAIL ORDER FOR MY PRESCRIPITIONS OF OXY. 15 MG & MORPHINE SULF ER 30 MG???
Ok i get tired of repeating myself but here goes for the last time: i had been having adverse reactions to the injections at PM, and stopped getting them in specific areas, i had one spot left that we had never tried, so they gave mean injection on the left side lower back. Before i was home my body started jerking and i felt sick. By the time i got hone I could barely get out of my truck and walk up the flight of steps into my apt. Within an hour I had projectile vomiting along with severe contortions around my waist causing me to jerk as if i were almost epileptic. My roommate asked if I needed to go to ER, i said "no, maybe this injection needs to kick in." Two days later still in same condition and now screaming in pain, he dragged me to ER. They gave me ANOTHER injection and when i got home I was confined to bed while i watched my leg muscles spaz and contort and twist etc.. By a dew days later after screaming in agony, he dragged e back to hospital where they said," oh you got THAT injection, well give you another one to know it out" They also told to stop taking my dilaudid( which causes muscle spasms) and wrote me for demerol. Of course the pharmacy wouldnt fill it due to me being in PM and already on morphine and dilaudid. So now im home without any pain meds and the situation is worsening. Im bedridden and need to be carried to bathroom but by next day, i am unable to sit at all. So now im off all meds AND in a friggin diaper wondering what the hell is going on! I called pain management and told them situation and asked them what the hell do i do now! They said come in and we'll see what we can give you. Now keep in mind my screaming has been continual for about a week due to consistant razor sharp slicing feeling in my entire right hind area and entire lower back. I cant sit up, get dressed, walk, only my arms can move and my roommate is on a cane so he certainly couldnt throw me over his shoulder an hoist me to pain doc. I did not want to go by ambulance to doctor-we also had matter of being on a second floor. So after my calling pain doc said that first injection should have lasted all month so i must have gone to get more meds. ,?!?! I went originally for the projectile vomiting and to find out what was wrong! I already had meds! So they dismissed me and by the time i went to primary care to follow up with ER, my right leg was swollen and a little tight. We made appt for sonogram and found a deep vein thrombosis and i was admitted into hospital. Then i had 2,i repeat, 2 surgical procedures done which still disnt work, i am on blood thinners with a stint because they could not break up the clot. They said it was the worse they had seen in 19 years. Now what causes clot? First, lethargy-i complained from the gitgo that the dilaudid made me lethargic and they ignored me. So lethargic that i had to drop out of school. What else causes clots? INJECTIONS! They are supposed to tell you to kove around for a while agter getting injections or you can get a clot. They never told me anything! So my theory for them not taking me back is that they just cant say a simple, "sorry" and let life go on. If it weren't how screwed the other patients would be if they shut down, I would pursue legal action against them . Then again, how many of they're patients will wind up going through the hell i went through because of their negligence and then, patient abandonment. And now the rues have fhanged again, i just found out from my rheummy that ALL doctors, even specialist have to forward ALL pain recommendations to primary care. All pain management cares about is your back because thats where the money is--injections. If you have any other condition youre screwed. Even a back specialist cant help. Neurology cant help. Your arthritis means nothing, neither does your lupus, muscular dystrophy or multiple sclerosis. Only your back. I know there are political/racist ideas behind this so called "War on Drugs"
It would be a good idea to show a documentary on people who really need these meds instead of always doing movies that show the drug addicts, pill mill abusers, doctor shoppers and people who get meds to sell...We need our voices heard, many of us are opiate dependant to work and lead a normal life but we are not all addicte. There is a difference between being an addict and being dependent.
iyou get thrown out because of surgery...then theres not enough wrong with you to even warrant you being on meds...I have had multiple surgeries with no problem nor ever heard of this happening to any legit person. just saying yo. ifyou were really documented a serious pain condition, the pm dr wouldn't care if you needed surgery and told him.
A documentary would be great! Please include how pain patients are often dismissed for irrelevant reasons such as, asking questions, requiring surgery, being 5minutes late and other reasons. Once that happens its as if you have a target on your back and have a hard time getting pain management again.
Andrew, a documentary would be a great way to bring the truth out about the suffering of chronic pain Patients, Pharmacists, and Doctors at the hands of the DEA. We desperately need someone to help us, we all live productive lives, lives that will be shattered if we can't get the medication we need. Thank you!
