From experience, can someone tell me, Will Fentanyl Show Up In a urine Test???? Its just my gen practitioner, and he only prescribes me xanax?? ## I recently was given IV Fentenal for a spinal epidural on Jan 26th I will be given it again on the 12th of Feb for the second epidural shot the on the 19th of Feb I am going to have a carpool tunnel surgery being sedated then on Feb 26 will have the third in the series of sedated epidural shot. Is the fentanyl patch the same as taking morphine? Does it have morphine in it? ## Hello, JB! How are you? No, Fentanyl is a different opiate analgesic. It's actually over 80 times stronger than Morphine. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## What can I take that is stronger than paracetamol am allergic to morphine ## I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia allergic to all kinds of medications but do take paracetamol and mobic antiflamatory. Is there anything else that does not contain morphine of is habit forming that I could take? I also have scolosis and arthritis and suffer a lot of pain.

Hi, I have been on Fentanyl (Durogesic) about 8yrs. I started at 25mcg ended up to 100mcg every 48hrs. I have numerous chronic pain conditions. I had Glandular Fever then a few months later Ross River Fever (from a mosquito) I ended up with fibromyalgia and Chronic fatigue. I then had a work accident and had surgery to repair torn tendons in my shoulder. During surgery I had a stroke. Apparently there was no oxygen in the lines and this caused stroke. Things went downhill quickly from there. 56 ischemic strokes, a large cerebral aneurysm that required life saving surgery, a couple of smaller aneurysms that burst, I already had degenerative spine which got to the point I now have ruptured and bulging discs (ranging from neck to lumbar) and neuralgia in neck and jaw from the brain surgery. Is a 25mil fentanyl patch as strong as 40 mil of methadone? ## From what I've read online, fentanyl is reportedly much stronger than methadone. But because the forms of administration are two worlds apart (one being a transdermal patch and the other being a pill), I honestly don't think there's such thing as an "equivalent dose" between the two; especially since each medication effects people differently. I am in urgent need of a pain doctor in the central florida area that isn't afraid to prescribe fentanyl patch & percocet. I've been seeing a doctor in a pain management group that keeps cutting my dosages down every time i go in and just wants to give me inj's. that don't help, he also makes me come in every two weeks and i cant afford the copays and taking the time off work constantly. Not only that he has me take U/A's every month. I've never given him a reason to do this so i don't know why he does it but i have to find someone new and fast. These patches are lousy imo. Does anyone know which pharmacy regularly stocks other brands, not Apotex? I am on the 25 mcg patch. I live in Maine around only chain pharmacies. I sit with a 73 year old lady. I take care of all her meds and refills. I thought she had a refill on file...long story short,she didn't. She is on 25 mg patches. Her patch was supposed to be changed this morning at 9 but they wont be ready til mnday morning. Should I give her as needed lortab to keep her out of withdrawal or will she be fine til Monday from Saturday? ## HI Cheryl, I believe that the lady you care for should be fine until Monday since it's only a couple days and there should still be some of the Fentynal medication in her system. Please explain how fentanyl showed up in my urine 3 weeks after using it? ## How do I prevent this from happening again? ## Try dipping urine cup into toilet to scoop up abit of water. Works for oxys and percs. I've nvr ever abused therfore I do want it showing up. But with working with enough methadone patients I've heard alot about this little trick. Just wondering why you'd need help. If it's been 3 wks. Then who knows how long since ur post. Is there a reason why u don't want it showing up. Are u on methadone or something. If you are. How long will it take to get the pain meds of fentanyl patch 75 mcg and oxycodone at least 40 mg to 60 mg daily, out of my system? It has already been 5 days and I am amazed that I am not sicker. I do feel bad enough but nothing like I know it should be. This was not a planned situation. I live in a remote area and just could not get to a place to purchase my meds. I have used oxycodone since 2006 for pain management after a fall. Being weaned off of fentanyl. Just need to talk to others about it. I've dropped down from 100 to 75 it's been a month. Sometimes I have no appetite for days at a time. Now my whole body is aching really bad. I was put on this after I had sugery on my cervical spine and after I found out later that my back was just as bad and I couldn't stand the pain. They started me on a low dose and increased until I was doing ok. I just want to mentally feel good again. ## I am so sorry about what you're going through. I need to know how long 3 x 50mg patches of fentanyl (taken over a time spans of 3 days) will take to leave my body and NOT show up in a drug screen for my new pain management dr? Please advice or help!!! My wife just was approved for medicaid. she has a primary doc, gynecologist and is seeing a rheumatologist soon. No problems except her primary doesnt think she should be seeing pain management, even with several disc problems, lupus, fibermyalgia and other problems. She has amerigroup. hewr pain doc is licensed and shes been going to the same one for 5yrs. her current pain doc doesnt accept medicaid or insurance. She gets prescribed fentanyl patches, oxycodone 30 mg. and neurontin and xanax. I just got my brothers autopsy report back and it says he died from overdose of Fentanyl and Methone . It says no alcohol. I was on 180 mg of ms contin after tapering down from 300mg for 16 yrs. I wanted to try fentanyl patches so my Dr gave me 75 mcg patch. Wow I had absolutely no pain .....but after 55-60 hrs I would wake up sweats flip popping all over totally withdrawals then I talked to a friend, she's on 50 mcg. I'm back to ms contin 120 mg ready to taper to 90 mg but it doesn't help the pain. So the pharmacist said since I also felt anxiety, depression the two weeks I tried the patch he said that maybe it was too high of a dose. Anyway my friend said she's on 50 mcg which is what I would go on and she had same thing for about 3 weeks. My ins will pay for 15 patches for 30 days so why can't I just change them every 2 1/2 days so that doesn't happen or will my percocet 10's ...

im currently taking 160 mg methadone for 6 yrs. i have a chance to take 100 fentanayl patches what do you think ## I think you should give it a go. The fentanyl dose is not quite equivalent, but it is a different med so 100mcg may be fine. For me personally, I prefer the patch to any opiate pills I have taken.

I have been in chronic pain for years I have taken several types of pain meds orally but got little or no relief my brother uses the fentanyl patches and has great results so I would like to try the fentanyl patches myself so I would like to try the fence no patches myself but I have no clue what doctor would prescribed for me so I would like to know if there is a doctor in Hattiesburg Mississippi that would prescribe them for me

You may experience some mild withdrawal effects, as listed by the FDA, which may include nausea, dizziness and diarrhea, but they shouldn't be severe.
