Apotex Fentanyl Patch
UpdatedThese patches are lousy imo. Does anyone know which pharmacy regularly stocks other brands, not Apotex? I am on the 25 mcg patch. I live in Maine around only chain pharmacies. No private pharmacies around. I prefer Sandoz or Mylan as I have had both. Never the other brands but willing to try any other generic. Thanks for reading.

Anyone can answer. You don't have to be from Maine. Thanks.
I live in Canada, and I dont know if you can get TEVA Pharmaceuticals, but I use that Generic brand often and have no issues with it. Also, You could go brand name and get it from Jansen Pharmaceuticals. I have dealt with Jansen before about Fentanyl, they used to send me a box of 100 patch covers every 3 months to keep the patch from falling off. FREE. So I KNOW they will work with you. TRy asking them can you have your doctor write the rx, send it DIRECTLY to Jansen and Jansen send you your RX directly to you or your pharmacy... just a thought. I suggest you call Jansen and see if they are willing to do this. (tell them you have used the brand name in the past and PREFER only it, and if you can not get it you are going to move to a completely different medication)
@Loulou,
As far as CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid and other large chain stores go, it's likely that you'd either have to call around or drive around asking different pharmacies in order to find out what they carry. The main issue here is that a pharmacy's stock can change on a day to day or week to week basis. So depending on when you contact them about this, the same pharmacy might have a different answer for you the next time around. That's just been my experience though.
Based on Post #2's response, I think Milo's approach with Jansen Pharmaceuticals could be worth looking into as well. Unfortunately, you'll never know how it's going to work until you try it, but at least that company is willing to work with patients on matters like this.
Good luck to you!
I don't get it. I have RA back problems two hip replacements that still hurt after a year and without the patch I can't even walk without a walker. These are amazing . my pharmacy makes sure to order me the 100's in gel form. More expensive but insurance pays. They help me a lot.
Hi Ronda. I am not looking for an argument. I don't like the Apotex brand patch, and I am not referring to a gel version. Was not aware Apotex made the gel.
My Rite Aid pharmacist agreed to order a different brand for me. However, he also stated this is no longer common practice.
Thank you all for your help.
