False Positive For Benzodiazepines (Page 4)

I have been testing positive for benzos and i cant figure out why. I have been taking suboxone & Ondansetron & promethazine. Thats it. If i fail another drug test, then my doctor is gonna kick me out. If anybody knows of any common substances, prescription or over the counter medications please inform me. Thanks

Take 100mg of zoloft 100mg wellbutrin trazadone all prescribed. Started to test positive for benzos. Why?

Anything p.m any medication that is used for sleep will show up. Benedryl will show up also. Pretty much anything that is a antihistamine will give you a false positive also. Some cough medicine will too.

Flexeril. All muscle relaxers will show up as benzos

Flexeril. All muscle relaxers will show up as benzos. Serqual will give a false for benzos as well. Methadone will not give you a false positive for oxycodone. Methadone will only show as methadone. Maybe the neuroton is giving you the positives for oxycodone

Seroquel is causing the problem. It's the same as a benzo. Stop taking it and the positives for benzos will go away

It's the benadryl. It causes false positive for benzos

Anything for night time causes false benzos. Most sinus otc mess cause a false positive as well

I agree,I am in the same predicament,I am 9 months clean,the only thing I am on is suboxone,this is the first time in my life i have actually stopped using drugs,and for some reason benzo's came up in a sent out drug test,I'm in felony drug court and probation, they do not mess around,could it be certain foods??im at such a loss!

I dont know of any foods to cause false positive but do know it was seroquel in my situation stopped taking it and been clean sense the 13th

I just tested positive for benzos today & take nothing but suboxone! I just got over strep throat& was taking a z pak antibiotic & advil for fever then drank nyquil pm for sleep! It had to be the Nyquil!!

The letter stated i WAS being released, due to a failed urine drug test. I immediately went to the office to question this. I was Never so embarrassed!! & humiliated in my entire life. My doctor whom I've know for at least 11 yrs. & concider a true friend,He was so rude & dismissive, He told me I had him fooled for so many yrs. & how dissapointed he was in me. I still didn't know why, after he was done degrading me, he said my recent urine screen came back POS. for Suboxone!!! I didn't even know what that was.I told him that wasn't true & to redo the test, he refused, saying he uses the best labs & they don't make mistakes. I asked if there was anything I was taking that could cause this, He said absolutely NOT. He told me to leave & he never wanted to see me again. Can anybody help me understand this? PLEASE!!!!

Just wanted to say, shame on your Dr for treating you so ignorantly. You're on prescribed opiates and suboxone (bupenorphrine/naloxone) is the same class of drugs, so for your MD to refuse to follow up a false positive with a requested retest is borderline malpractice IMHO. I'm sorry you lost an eleven-year professional friendship over thus but honestly, you're better off being treated by someone who will put a little faith and trust in you after all that time.

I take that as well, along with a host of other perscription meds.... did you get an answer for this drug? I too am concerned.

im on a suboxone program and today i tested positive positive for benzo's, i never did that in over a year, what do you think can make me fail this test, i took benadryl and over the counter sleep aid's like advil pm could this be it? i really need help , they just might kick me off the program and i need them to know i never did this!!! anyone can help ???

My son's drug tests keep coming up positive for Benzos. The only medication he takes is Anthrexin for Gout & Panadol. Can Vitamin tablets or herbal tablets effect his tests thank you very much

I'm having the same situation ! Showd up positive for benzos and I'm on the suboxone program ! And it is pissing me off so bad because I've been so proud of myself. It seems like many of us are on suboxone and showing (P) for benzos hmm .. And yes god knows all

I am also on suboxon and i just failed a urine test for benzos..the only thing i take is melitonin..he looked it up yesterday and said that melitonin gives false positive on the screening test.

Its the sleep aid..my doctor looked it up..i take rapid sleep pm w melatonin and thats what made it a false positive

Zoloft and the wellbutrin will do it bc i had a friend fail a screen while on this medicine.

I use Sodium Valporate , Lithium & Mirtazepine . Some Nurofen, Advil & Voltaren for body injuries and physical work I am a tradesman. I take these only , and a random urine test read positive for benzodiazepine.. I am bewildered as to what it is, curious if I have mistakenly taken an old Zyprexa (olanzenapine) could this have caused such a reading ?
