Eliquis Satisfied Users (Top voted first)
UpdatedFolks who have problems are quick to get on a site like this one. I would like to hear from some folks who have not had any problems and are satisfied with the medicine. Also, what % of folks have serious side effects.
I have never had any problems with eliquis and have been on it since March, 2015.
Eliquis now in second month no issues. Have taken xarelto for more than a year also pradaxa for two years no issue with any blood thinners over last five years
Male, age 77. Eliquis for two years...no major problems. Lower energy level and diminished strength, but that is probably due to my age.
I am a 52 year old male and have been on el. for about a year. repeat pe.
I take 2.5 mg twice a day. Sure I am tired some days and muscle aches on others.
I think its called not being 25. Get out of bed and enjoy life!!
I was on warfarin for about ten years (with two breaks - took clexane both times, once while I was pregnant and breastfeeding), then on to rivaroxaban, then to apixaban. I feel better being off the warfarin and have had only a few side effects with the apixaban (Eliquis) - some nausea (which is tolerable) and insomnia/sleeping issues. They are tolerable as I feel much better, overall, than I did on the warfarin. I am happy with it - and hey, its keeping me alive too, so you know….bonus :)
Omega three oils like fish oil and/or flaxseed oil.
Cayenne pepper
all the blood thinning food you can't eat on coumadin like pomegranate juice.
Aged garlic
Ginger
I moved from aspirin to Eliquis 5 mg 2x per day two years ago with no side effects.
I'm a 52 year old active wife/mom/grandma runner. I've been on Eliquis 5mg 2x's daily since March of this year, when I was diagnosed w/multiple bilateral pulmonary embolisms. My PE's were a result of being on the birth control pill since January of this year (just 3 months). Being 52 and on the pill is a high risk. Not a well thought out plan obviously. LOL. Luckily, I've had no side effects to speak of. The extra 7 pounds I'm carrying around the past 4 months is due to basically no real exercise, and my love for food. My husband is so worried I'll get injured and bleed out that I've had to stop all activity except housekeeping. Good thing I'm a 'Domestic Goddess.' (still have my humor!). I met w/my Hematologist this week, and will stop Eliquis in 6 days. Three months early. I should be overjoyed....but instead I'm a little paranoid to come off of the thinners. Unexplainable.....I thought 6 months of thinners was going to take an eternity to reach. For my rare situation, 3-6 months is the recommendation. I did request an EKG and scan of my lungs to be sure the PE's are gone. I'll also have blood work every 6 weeks for the duration of the year as a safety check and peace of mind.
i had rectal bleeding w/pradaxa w/in 2 days but i have been taking eliquis since the end of April w/no problems at all. nevertheless plan to get off it asap and go back to natural blood thinners as soon as i can.-my doctor says it's okay.
Almost a year....77 year old male....no problems at all.
I really didn't have much of a problem on Eliquis. I did have some hair loss, but wouldn't have stopped the meds for that. Doctor decided clot was better and baby aspirin was safer. I felt absolutely fine while taking the Eliquis. I understand only a small fraction of people have hair loss from this med.
I use feel great except for hair loss
Hi.! I hope I give you some hope more then discourage. 2011 my first p.e.. They thought I was going to drown to death from my own blood uncountable clots in both lungs. Fast forward to may 2016 , now 2 p.e. and 3 dvts later. Bcuz of continued prescribed testosterone and hcg. I am 56yo white male that was 52 and ripped. So much I could share. So, find out if you have any types of hereditary/ genetic disorders. My labs were about 12k$ in theirself. Also realize and learn about thrombectomy procedure in case a dvt occurs. A vascular surgeon I was just informed and I missed the window, only has 14 days for this procedure to possibly work from discovery. And even then it depends on the clot and location. A vascular surgeon needs immediate assignment to any one with a new clot discovery. This vascular surgeon also needs to know about thrombectomy or move on to another with out hesitation. I repeat move on immediately. Actually you should now get this all in order before and hopefully not that this happens again to you. I now have my great saphenous vein completely blocked with scar tissue in 2 areas and my popletial vein is acluded and I hope blood starts going thru to help dissolve it. Do not trust drs or hospitals/ university's. You must handle this and be a complete babysitter at times if this doesnt happen. You must make sure any referrals are done by calling to make sure the referral was received. You must make sure you have a experienced v.s. that performs thrombectomy procedures in place just in case.. Start wearing compression stockings when traveling. DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY AT ALL. Your life is dependent upon your awareness and planning in case this happens again. Best to you. P.S. the blood thinners have failed obviously but now off hormones so they and me hope this stops now. But my leg has not enjoyed all of this.
What natural blood thinner have you used?? And what are you on blood thinners for?
I started taking Eliquis about 8 months ago after having severe pulmonary embolisms I have had absolutely no side effects and think it's a very user-friendly drug. The only nagging worry I had was what happens if I cut myself badly. Well a few days ago it happened I had two extremely deep cuts requiring several stitches.by the time I got to the emergency room the bleeding has stopped which was a great relief to me. Not saying that's the way it will be for everyone but that's what happen for me
I am a generally fit white male, 63 yo. I was diagnosed with DVT/PE.
I have been on Eliquis for 3 mos. I have not experienced the wide range of negative side affects described by others. However, I have seen some blurred vision.
The shortness of breath due to PE is no longer an issue. If I had read the bad comments before taking Eliquis, I might have passed. My experience so far has been positive.
I have been taking 2.5 twice daily for approx. 10 months. The only drawback I have had is fatigue, which may or may not come from the eliquis? But I am scared to stop taking it, because I have been told the same thing. (Stroke, heart attack, bleeding, etc.) I am 66 years old. Would like to see if it is safe or if I should stop taking it. {edited for privacy}. Please keep me informed. Thank you.
I've been on Eliquis for two months, 5mg x2 daily. When I was initially taking 10mg 2x daily I felt a little anxiety after taking it but it would dissipate over time. Now I don't feel any of that and have been essentially side effect free.
That said, I do hope a side effect is increased fatigue because I need an excuse for my wimpiness on my bike. :-)
I haven't had any problems so far. I hemorrhaged with Xarelto but been doing good with Eliquis since last year.
i noticed you had written your message some time ago 2015 - however i'm responding because I have not taken the two drugs the cardiologist recommended Eliquis and Metoprolol for two reasons: 1. such negative stories have been written, and I get other people messaging who say largely people who react badly write about it, where the positives do not. 2. I had to change my insurance as of Jan 1st 2017 and as yet haven't established myself with that group of doctors. I am greatly wary of these drugs as I have lived my 84 years drug free - not even an asperin - only anti-biotics for serious sinus infections over the years. I am definately looking into the "NATURAL WAY TO ADDRESS AFIB" and appreciate the foods and spices you mentioned.
