9 REPLIES UpdatedMy fiancée, who is in the Philippines, has contracted the flu and is taking Neozep and Solmux simultaneously, but these medications haven't helped relieve her flu symptoms. Any suggestions, please? ## NeozepForte is an over-the-counter medicine (containing Phenylephrine HCL + Chlorphenamine Maleate + Paracetamol) indicated for use in providing relief from both colds and cold symptoms. Solmux contains Carbocisteine which is used for the treatment of cough with phlegm and other respiratory tract disorders such as acute bronchitis. Based on my research, the two medications have their own unique mechanism of action in so far as how they work and their specific uses. While I personally don’t see an issue with taking the two together, it’s still probably best to play it s...
20 REPLIES UpdatedI am still not sure if i am pregnant and have yet to check with a home kit. Now my allergic rhinitis is triggered by the weather my doctor gave me co-aleva however i fort to ask if it is pregnancy-friendly. Please advise. ## My wife is pregnant, she can't take a Co. Aleva.for her maintance of asthma. ## No, the U.S. FDA places the Betamethasone in Co-Aleva as being in pregnancy category C, which means it is a drug that has been suspected of causing fetal harm. However, there are some cases where it can be beneficial for an underdeveloped fetus, so it should be taken if your doctor deems it necessary. Otherwise, if a woman is pregnant, it would be best to consult their doctor about taking an alternative medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

6 REPLIES UpdatedWill co-aleva treat an itchy throat and cough? ## In short, it can, depending on the underlying cause of the itchy throat and cough. Co-Aleva contains Ebastine + Betamethasone. -Ebastine is an antihistamine used for allergies. -Betamethasone is a steroid. If your cough/itchy throat is bacterial or viral, then Co-Aleva may not be a viable option. However, if it's due to allergies or other related immune conditions then I can see why this might be prescribed. Were you able to get any feedback from your doctor?
1 REPLY UpdatedI've been taking kestine (ebastine 10mg) for a very long time (about 2 years) for allergies (sneezing). But it causes irritation in my eyes and spots in my eyes. What should i do now? I can not stop talking it. I have to take an antihistamine every after 4 or five days due to sneezing and nasal suppression. And if i dont take this it will cause irritation in my nose and sneezing, headache, etc! please advise accordingly. ## Have you consulted a doctor? If it is causing these types of problems, you may need to switch to a different medication and there are other options available on the market. As to the problems you experience, if you stop taking it, that is completely normal, especially after having taken something for such a long period of time. Almost any medication will cause so...
4 REPLIES UpdatedActually, I am not the one who gonna take this med, it is my mother who is a stroke victim and I am worried that if she will take this med, we don't know yet the reaction in her condition. ## Has she been told to take it by a medical professional? What other medications is she taking? This medication is listed as containing Ebastine, and Betamethasone, both of which can sometimes cause elevated blood pressure and heart rate, so it might not be safe for her to take it, according NIH reports. I suffered congestive heart failure and high blood pressure, and there are some medications that I cannot safely take, either. She shouldn't take anything her doctor has not approved. Doing so could be very risky, she might even experience another stroke, if she takes something she shouldn...

And im having a terrible tonsilitis now, can i drink Co-Aleva to treat? ## Tonsillitis is most commonly due to an infection, so this medication will not help eradicate such an issue. 3 REPLIES UpdatedAny commen factor between odimont LC and ebastine . Is it okay if use ebastine tablet in the absence of odimont LC tab ## Although both medications are indicated for similar uses, Ebastine is also of a different drug class. And from what other reviews have said, it's is not the best choice for asthma (if this is what you had intended on using it for?). Ebastine is a second-generation H1 receptor antagonist that is indicated for allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. So if you've been using Odimont LC for either of these conditions, it may still turn out to be a viable alternative in the meantime. Odimont LC contains the active ingredients montelukast (10 mg) + levocetirizine (5 mg). This combination is used for the treatment of chronic asthma, urticaria, and/or vari...
