E 44 And Sl 563 Pills Id

I need help identifying two different pills. My new hubby can't remember what they are. One is white, round, cross on front E 44 on back. The other is round orang-ish yellow with SL on front 563 on back.

Your first pill E44 is Tizanidine 4 mg generic zanaflex a muscle relaxer.Your second pill SL 563 is Cyclobenzaprine 10mg generic Flexeril.I should add that the company that makes this pill has changed it to read PILVA on front rather than SL

The identification provided by John is correct.

The tablet with the marking E 44 does contain 4mgs of the muscle relaxant Tizanidine (NDC 00185-4400).

E 44 round white pill

And the one with the SL or Pliva 463 did contain10mgs of the muscle relaxant Cyclonenzaprine (NDC 50111-0563). This one has been discontinued.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of muscle relaxants as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, lethargy, and dry mouth.

Vicoprofen contains the opiate Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen, it is used to treat moderate to severe pain. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Eric, no they are not the same medication, nor are they in the same medication class.

You can see the details I posted above regarding Tizanidine, which is the active ingredient in Zanaflex.

Xanax (Alprazolam), however, is a benzodiazepine that is most commonly used to treat conditions such as anxiety, and panic attacks. It carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood changes, and irritability.
