Drinking On Lexapro (Page 6)

I was just wondering if anyone has drank with this med and were there any side effects? I've been on lexapro 10 mg for a month and am feeling great but I am petrified to even attempt to drink alcohol, but would like to try. So if anyone could help that would be great.

It varies from person to person as everyones make up and chemistry is different. Its reccomemded you dont drink as alcohols a depresent and will likely make depression worse and as for anxiety, you will likely get a bad rebound affect the following day as the alcohol has messed with your brain. Its not to say you cant but theres a possibility of an increase of side effects from the drug. If you must id start slowly and see how alcohol affects your body

just took my 1st 10mg tablet last night had one glass of wine and was completeley spun out. Mellow but was stoned i think

2-3 wines in a day? Why do you need 2-3 wines a day, are you an alcoholic? Plus, you don't say if it's a large glass, small, or bottle, so I assume large glass. Your meds are not working, they're interacting with the booze. You just feel sleepy, no wonder you have bad days. Get a grip of your drinking or ditch the meds.

you will find hangovers last longer and are bad , sometimes days

you think not , think again , your med don't wont mixed with alcohol in your favour . if it did why take meds just get HAMMERED

Good man, drinking and meds are a no no. If you want to mix them be my guest, and be like me. Have half your guts out with pancreatitis.

Lexapro is a depression meds with a weak anti anxiety meds added . its not a anxiety med on its own.

you guys in America slay me. have you ever looked on your Lexapro fact sheet. We in England get out meds in blister packs and packed in boxes with a leaflet inside , we like it this way nobody gab mess with your meds in blister packs , but in bottles no way. ANYWAY the firs thing it tells you is don't drink on lexapro so why do you do it . You cannot be ill if you DRINK booze , because it just told you not to /GUINESS is a cool draft drink with iron in it by all means have 1 of those its like being a bad boy or girl but getting iron. Don't ask others do you drink on Lexapro all your doing is looking for an excuse to drink, ie he drink so I can , that's what this forum is page is about . Drink if you like but you should not it tells you that, END OF

I have been on Lexapro for 2 months and have drank a few times and feel no different. Pharmacist says in moderation it is ok, may increase drowsiness or dizziness. If anything I'm happier!

It's definitely not a page where people have an excuse to think it's okay to drink because someone else does, it's a way to compare and to understand the different effects it has given us by having a drink in moderation. I came here to understand that what happened to me, did happen to someone else and it was because of the medication.

I am on 10mg Lexapro, and last night my kids took me for some pub grub that's food in a pub I am English, I had 2 pint of draft Guniness that is my limit now. I was a big drinker 8 pints of STELLA that' runs at %6 , that would nuke me now, you cannot go BAR crawling anymore , the booze will cancel out you med , me personal get a hangover at 2 pints now its not worth it, I do 2 pints twice a week that's it just being with my buddies, but I am kidding myself its not the same never will be, and if it tips you back into the darkness your screwed

I get this strange eerie feeling of horrible feelinges it is crazy as hell.You know what is going on but its like nothing can help.Like your mind is poisoned or something. Its just does not doesn't feel right at all.

I would not recommend it, my boyfriend was on the meds for 6 months and went on a 3 day weekend drinking everyday on the 3rd he became suicidal and tried to kill him. He then started sleep walking and having major depression. He was on 15 MG, please avoid drinking at all cost, thankfully I was around to save his life, had I not been he would be died.

This happens to me too. I take lexapro for anxiety that started 5 months after finding my father passed away in his home. Shortly, i acquired anxiety and panics. I went against the dr's instructions and only grabbed for xanax when ever i started having that "feeling" of anxiety. So i started taking the lexapro as insructed for 3 weeks and thought it wouldnt hurt to drink. I had 3 big glasses of wine one night, woke up and felt fine. After about lunch time; a full on Anxiety attack ensued. And yes it starts with a light headed, introverted, sliding slowly into a terror. Soooo... im not drinking like that needless to say.
How is your anxiety now?

This is the problem i have. If i drink 5 glasses of wine at the end of the night, i will be paying for it the next day with terror like anxiety, the lexapro cant touch it and have to resort xanax which is dangerous fix due to possible falling dependent to the drug.

I started drinking wine spritzers and a small glass of wine. It is affecting me. I am feeling blue and some depression. I think it is better off not to drink. I will try not to Before I started drinking wine again I was
feeling great so wine definitely is not good. Maybe a very small amount but I am going to stop the wine and compare the difference when I wake up in the morning.

Don't do it! I got drunk while on lexipro about a week ago, and I'm still feeling the aftermath of it. It was like a 12 hour long panic attack. My anxiety has drastically increased after that.
