I think some misunderstandings need to be cleared up in regards to this post.

The medication just called Soma, or its generics Carisoprodol do not contain Codeine, or any other narcotic. Carisoprodol is the only active ingredient in them.

Thus, though it is a muscle relaxant that can help with muscle spasms that cause pain, it will not help with other types of pain, such as nerve pain or surgical pain as a narcotic would. It is solely used for muscle pain and spasms.

And the tablet originally asked about here, with the 2410 V marking contains only 350mgs of Carisoprodol, so it is a generic for Soma that contains no narcotics whatsoever.

And thus, that should also explain the difference between regular Soma and Hydrocodone or other narcotics, as was also asked. It's not a narcotic analgesic and will not work like one.



However, there is a medication on the market called Soma Compound, it combines the muscle relaxant Carisoprodol with Aspirin and Codeine for better pain relief.

The relevant fact is that if that is what has been prescribed, it will be clearly labeled as such by your pharmacy.
