My son, has gastroparesis, and has been sooo ill, in the hospital ER , abt 14 times, since Jan.2012, losing abt 60 lbs. It has been a revolving door. It's 2 wks home, then 2 wks. hospital stay. He was told by a dr. he should be on Domperidone, instead of the Prednisone ( steroid) he is on now., but ( according to the dr.) HOW EXPENSIVE Domperidone is. My son was quoted $ 525.00 for a rx., a month, by a pharmacy in TX. I found out that Canadian pharmacies will sell it much, much cheaper, I guess a generic name,Motillium. So, I was wondering if anyone has used this drug, and what the results have been.

So happy to hear that you had such wonderful results with this medication. How would I get it here in Wyoming? How long have you been on it? It's the next step to take going through this madness of not eating and being sick since the begining of the summer. My kids are worried for me and I am secretly very worried about my health decline. I will dring 1 cup of coffee and burp and then it turns into me throwing up. It's a total nightmare. I also have IBS. I am young enough to be hopeful of change. I hardly ever ever eat. I talke gummy vitamins to sustain my life and energy but I feel defeated right now. My question to you is how do I GET THE MEDICATION?
I was diagnosed with idiopathic gastroparesis 4 years ago, meaning I am not a diabetic and might have been affected by a virus. I lost 40 lbs. and was so ill, because my stomach was 98 % "dead". Standing before a decision of a permanent feeding tube ( my age was 70 then) I tried as a last resort Domperidone. It has worked beautifully for all this time for me (of course eating pureed only) and I am now getting the original medicine from a pharmacy in Texas, approved by the government according to my treatment thru Temple University in Philadelphia. I am even still on the lowest dose of 10 mg .3 to 4 times a day. Yes , it is life altering but and almost 74 am living and enjoying my grandkids, all 10 of them. Please try my example, it works!!
use vrdrug for cheap motilium(domperidone). I have been on this medication for over 7 years. After having 20 surgeries to correct an intestinal problem they had to remove 11ft of intestine and 1/2 of my colon. Even with so much removed my intestines still do not function. This medication is a lifesaver. I have done research over the years and this website is the cheapest i have found and the medication is the same. I spent initially 500.00 a month for a 30day supply. now I spend 50.00 a month. I hope your child feels better soon.
Yes, I have been on domperidone now for 3 weeks and it has saved me!!! I have not vomited since taking the little pill before every meal. I have of course had to change my diet drastically, but the constant vomiting and weight loss was truly killing me. I still have symptoms, but I can't say enough about how much this drug has helped me. I am lucky to live in Canada and have it easily available at the pharmacy. good luck with your health
You can learn more Domperidone details here.
It hasn't been approved by the U.S. FDA, that's why it's so expensive to obtain a prescription here. It basically has to be imported in under a special status and, even then, it's not guaranteed that the FDA would approve it and let it happen.
There are some compounding pharmacies that can provide it, if he has a doctor's prescription, so he may want to check with the ones in his area and see what they'd charge.
Has anyone actually used this that can provide information on it?
