I have to get drug tested at my methadone clinic, and I was wondering if soma will show up on my urinalysis? I've heard that after metabolizing it can appear as a benzo which would not be good for me as I haven't taken any in over a year. Does anyone have purely factual or proven information to help shed some light on the subject?

Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol, which is a muscle relaxant and, as itself, is not something that is included on standard drug tests.
However, it has been know to cause false positives, but not for Benzodiazepines, the false positive it is known to cause is for Morphine.
Whether or not it shows up as a false positive depends o what type of test they use. Not all of them show false positives, because some are more precise, but the cheaper tests are pretty well known for it.

I am prescribed Lortab and have a drug test coming up at my next doctors appointment. I have been taking Soma a friend gave me. Will Soma show up on a drug test from my doctor or no?? I am worried that if I test positive for Soma he will cut me off of my pain meds and refuse to treat me any furthur. Also, how long does it take to get out of my system just in case?Please let me know either way. Thanks

Soma does not show up on a drug test. Carisoprodol (soma) metabolizes into meprobamate via the liver. Meprobamate is what you pass from your body into the urine and is not tested for. Blood tests are generally the only way to find soma use

Well Mere tell that to my friend Kim who just lost her job last month for letting her Soma script expire. The correct answer is YOU CANNOT TELL WHETHER IT WILL SHOW UP OR NOT ! Most people are probably safe because if a positive shows for something the employer would have to pay for Gas Chromatography testing which is expensive in order to be sure it's not a false positive and as Soma IS a controlled substance it will be tested for and show up on GC.
Some people however do need to worry because either thier employer, the State or the Feds may require GC due to your job. My friend drove a city bus and DOT rules for CDL licences require FULL screening for every possible drug on the 5 panel which DOES include Soma. Kim and I researched this throughly as well as all laws and regs that may help her appeal to the city and DMV.

It seems like everyone on these sites are just guessing. Itried to find out the same question ( will SOMA show up on a methadone clinic test) Well I now no first hand that it is not tested for. I took a large amount in the four days prior to my test, including the day of and it did Not show up. I got my results back a couple of hours ago. Now of course if they are looking specifically for it they can find it however as far as my clinic in Indiana they don't. Also SOMA is in no way shape or form a benzo it is a muscle relaxer, and is a controlled substance IV not a narcotic, there is a difference.

Finally!! Someone with a smart answer.I'm trying to go up in my methadone dose and I have to have two benzo free UAs. Got mysoma and tramadol back from my regular doc who doesn't know I'm on the done. Thanks for being my Guinea pig...lol.....gawd i hope you are right!

I'm sorry to break it to you, but soma does les show up in ua's. Im under a contract with a pain clinic and when I went for my monthly appointmentin july they popped a drug test on me. Well, I just seen them last week and the doctor informed me that my soma(which I ran out of 3 days prior) was not showing up so they made me take another one. So it does show up and I do know that for a fact!

Im not sure if you know or not but there are a list of drugs that you absolutely should not mix with methadone..whether liquid or pill form..and tramadol (ultram) is one of them. It will actually deplete the methadone from your body, making it possible to have withdrawal symptoms. I am a patient at a methadone clinic and I had to be taken off ultram when I started.

Yes!! I just came from my Dr office. He was rather pissed at me for having SOMA in my last urine drug test! I only took one pill about 2 days before this test and it definitely showed up! Now I am in trouble... just stay away from pills that u r not prescribed! I learned my lesson the hard way...

As meprabomate and that’s not on your panel. It can only be detected by an electrophoresis gcms test thet is very expensive and thus only parole testing will use it. Like LSD, you’re in the clear as long as your acid and somas aren’t tainted with something else

I hurt my back and took a couple soma. I get drug tested for probation in 3 days. I believe it is a 6 panel, they test for benzo and barbiturates. I’ve read that soma could cause a positive test for these things, is this true?

I took a one soma and one half of a 10mg valium 3 days ago. Today I paid for a rapid 10 panel plus a GC confirmation test. The rapid panel showed me positive for methadone and benzos today. I will get the GC confirmation tomorrow or the next day. I had also used marijuana 7 days ago. I have been diluting taking aspirin, creatine and took sure-gel. The cannabinoids were negative on the rapid test. I am curious to see if the GC confirmation shows my sample too dilute.

Same thing happened to me. I've been prescribed many different muscle relaxers that haven't worked so I tried a Soma from a family member. I get tested just about every 3 months for my opiate(Hydrocodone). My dr. said I test positive for the opiated and for Soma as well. I told him I did take it once with no relief. That will be the last time I take medication that wasn't prescribed to me.
