Does Seroquel Enhance Weight Gain (Top voted first)

I have taken one 100 Mg tablet of seroquel and noticed it can enhance weight gain. Has anyone had any experience with this. I am overweight, and have lost 14 lbs and cannot gain any weight. Please let me know.

JAMES, I can not stop eating!! This med. will be great for anorexia nervosa! I've taken 5 pills @ 25mg each. I just want to sleep and eat. It promotes the sins of gluttany and laziness. These can not be good. I get more depressed thinking how much weight I am retaining. Yes, retaining... I can't let it stay here! Does anyone know if this gets better??!!

weight gain is 1 of my major issuses with this drug. in 6 months ive gained 6 stone. its just keeps gaining more and more...the thing is i dont eat a lot either. i have now gone back to the drs and have now decided to come off them...lets see how it goes!

i am asking myself the same question does it get be4tter? i took lithium after having lost 168 lbs on weight watchers for two years and my doc puts me on lithium for eight months and i go over 200 lbs. i was weighing 244 and now have noticed that i weigh 251. in two days. i will get off of this if it keeps going. i also sleep all day and stay up for a while at night then go back to sleep. if i sleep all day tomorrow i will have to get off of this. it makes me hungry also, but i try to eat grapes. i was looking all over my fridge to find something to eat. not a good drug i don't think for what is is used for. i am using it for schizophrenia.

I have just been prescribed SEROQUEL yesterday by Psychiatrist for Bi-Polar episode of slight Mania again, and trying to nip it in bud before it escalates any higher, I have been reading the posts on here about 'weight gain' with this drug, and like others here I cannot afford to gain anymore weight myself, as I suffer with prolapsed discs in my lower spine and the more weight I carry the worse the lower back pain is for me, plus Im only 5ft in height, and am already carrying a stone over my normal weight which is at present now, 10st 7lbs, I have just lost a few pounds over these past few days due to my Manic Episode of late, as my appetite is virtually none existent just over these few days and I was well pleased at dropping a few pounds. Now Im not looking forward to gaining more by starting on this, by reading these comments, I never feel good when Im overweight and always try to maintain to stay around 9st 7lb which I can cope alright at.....:-(

Well I was anorexic, you can imagine when I was putting on 3lb a day was weird considering I never ate ....weird I'm scared to take them and scared not too.its a case of which is worse mental health wise .good luck to you.
