I suffer from severe panic attacks on a daily basis. im a perfect example of a person that needs medicine and is unable to get it because of so many people abusing prescription drugs. I have such severe anxiety and panic attacks and cant find a doctor to prescribe me xanax because im only 25 and its so addicting. but what they dont understand that i should be on xanax for the rest of my life because my anxiety is so bad. So if any1 knows a doctor in the monmouth county area of new jersey that will prescribe me xanax please let me know...thank u

First, you make no sense. Since you're not from america the doctors don't prescribe to certain people because of their license. And second, people who do get it abuse them or sell them. I have a prescription bc i really need them. I don't abuse them but i went through a lot and had a hard time getting it. So worry about what ever country you're from.

Those medications trigger restless leg syndrome on me
Im sorry but if you say that to a doctor he is gonna think you're a drug addict. You have to be careful how you say thing and ive heard that being that young they will say that you dont need it. I suffer from depression, anxiety and cancer and i had a hard time getting it until i found a dr who unstands what im going through and im 55
Re: StarryEyes (# 4)
Ive had panic attacks but it helps me sleep because i have stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in my bones. Had a hysterectomy which made a mess of my hormones and i have a hard problem sleeping, ive gone 2-3 days with no sleep, so i take xanax (anxiety) ambien (sleeping pill) and percocets for pain. 1mg of xanax calms me down but barely helps me sleep but im grateful for what ever i can get.
Re: jersey girl (# 3)
I know a doctor but she is in East Orange. Depending on what other medication you are on she will only give 1mg. I only get 1mg bc i am also on percocet for breast cancer that spread to my bones.

Hi, my primary care physician recommend I be on Xanax. I'd like to know how I can get an appointment. Thanks, have a great day now {edited for privacy}
Re: Verwon (# 1)
I have tried everything that has been prescribed for me and benzo Xanax are the only thing that works I have insomnia and it’s driving me crazy because I’m not an addict I just need help and because I’m on subutex I am just put on the list and as you say because others abuse them I am finding it hard to get some and I don’t think that it’s fair
I suffer from severe anxiety and I am on suboxone it’s like subutex and the Xanax 1mg help me but I live in Ireland and can’t get them at a good price so if you can help me out I will sort u out with cash and English sterling is worth more than the dollar I am on diazepam but I have been on them since 2014 and they don’t work anymore if you can help me out I will pay you well thanks

Placidyl is the correct spelling, it's wasn't a barbiturate, which were the second generation sedative-hypnotics, like Tuinal, Seconal, Nembutal, and Amytal. With the barbiturates the therapeutic dose wasn't that far off from the lethal dose. Dangerous indeed, many celebrities met their demise because of the barbiturates, either accidentally or intentionally. The first generation were the Bromides, Chloral Hydrate, and Paraldehyde. The third generation, which debuted in the late fifties included the holy grail, Glutethimide, brand name of Doriden, and also Noludar (Methyprylon) and the infamous Methaqualone (Quaalude, Sopor, Parest, etc..) these were proclaimed by the big pharmaceutical companies as being non-habit forming and safe. But they were just as addictive and dangerous as the barbiturate drugs, very bad withdrawal symptoms, including convulsions. Elvis, Steven Tyler, and William Rehnquist were quite fond of Placidyl. In the late seventies the fourth generation of sedative-hypnotics were introduced, I believe that the first was Dalmane (Flurazepam), these were benzodiazepine hypnotics, others are Restoril, Pro-Som, Doral, Halcion, and Rohypnol. Which brings us to the present generation of sedative-hypnotics, sometimes called "The Z Drugs" due to the fact that their genetic names all begin with the letter Z. Ambien (Zolpidem), Lunesta (Zopiclone) and Sonata (Zaleplon). For what it's worth Doriden (Glutethimide) which was discontinued in '93 (rather forcefully by the DEA and FDA, I may add) was the best and was very special due to the fact that it induced a liver enzyme that made codeine turn into something much stronger. Yes, they were heavily abused in the northeast US, sold illicitly by various slang names such as "hits" or "Cibas and codeine", due to the fact that Ciba was the inventor and manufacturer and the tablets used to be stamped CIBA on them. In later years Rorrer marketed them under their US Vitamin Co. subsidiary and were stamped USV 354. Generics were also available like Halsey Drugs HD 550, MD Pharmaceutical with their MD 529, and Geneva with their GG 185. Yes, Glutethimide was very special, both scientifically and personally.
Re: EDDY (# 292)
Yes, Placidly was discontinued in '99, obsolete hypnotic. But Doriden, well that was something very special. Discontinued in '93, hopefully I will find the holy grail through the internet. The benzodiazepine family doesn't hold a candle to the meds of years ago.
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Guys busperone does not help you cope with anxiety it just makes you tired
Re: Molly6922 (# 295)
Who prescribed these? I need a doctor in south jersey please.
Re: Gina (# 302)
Gina, that post was from over 10 years ago. What worked a decade ago is not going to work in 2022. You require 8 mg a day? Why not ask for more?
Re: the Man to talk to (# 10)
Can you give me your doctor's name?
Re: StarryEyes (# 2)
I'm going through the same thing with Xanax. Can't find a doctor to prescribe it.
Re: Debs (# 299)
You can rest assured that a Lawyer would sue a Doctor for Medical Malpractice in West Virginia? Why were you suing again, and who was going to pay the lawyer's retainer & legal costs? Coma from Xanax is pretty rare, I suppose it could happen, but you were mixing Opioids as well. How did the Doc find out? Do you really blame them for cutting you off?
Hey I'm in WV and been on xanax over 30 years. I'm 51 years old. My psychiatrist cut me off cold turkey and I ended up in a coma almost died over that thing. And he lied on me and knew it. In WV a lawyer won't take your case. Please if you know of any cash Drs that will see me I need help. He caused me to have to buy them to live and I can't spend or find them. I'm disabled with cancer etc. That's why he cut me off cause I got Roxicodone 30s and he didn't want his license pulled and plus lied on me. SO I NEED HELP PLEASE. I CAN'T GET PAIN MEDS EVEN AND HE KNEW MY DR DONE GOT SHUT DOWN LIKE ALL THE WHOLE STATE. ANY INFO PLESAE HELP THANK U.

Cannabis is pretty real, at least in the State I live in. The Government isn't much of a factor aside from their 15% cut. Do you know the price these days, what was $560 a month is now sold for as low as 20 bucks an Ounce, a 50-year low? I am not familiar with the GMO Monsanto strain, I'll look for it.
As you know the doctor that was giving you 8 mg a day was killing you. The Doctor that you have now isn't doing you any real favors? I tried to look up that stroke on Google but nothing came up. Usually those who have withdrawn from Xanax are candidates for strokes, scary crap. I have an old Doctor, he spends up to 2 hours with patients, that's 4 to 6 patient a day, sometimes more. I asked him how he gets away with doing this, getting paid for hour + visits, he has no problem getting paid. After I almost died in 2010, my Hospital Doctor made sure to load me up with plenty of medicine which I still have to this day. If I didn't have extras I would be like so many here, living month to month, either getting cut off, demeaned, or treated like trash. However, it is clear most Doctors have taken the Opioid crisis and applied those same restrictions to Benzos and don't care about the outcome. I find this very offensive as Xanax is poison and can drop you where you stand, usually when stopping them. I'd establish myself with yet another provider, seems it's happening to so many?
Re: Verwon (# 1)
The problem is not anxiety! The problem is doctors know they should not prescribe Xanax for more than 2 months!
Case in point: I was on 120 ct., 2mg. 4x a day! I got so addicted I had catatonic titiny, it’s like a seizure but worse, seizures last 3-5 seconds, a titiny could last for 5-10 minutes and you’re conscious throughout the whole thing. I had 5 straight, in less than 15 minutes!
The problem is doctors make people dependent on medication then they say: “I’m going to take them cause your addicted !” Well no S#!+ I’m addicted! I’ve been on them for more than 20 years!
He brought me down from 120 4 times a day, 2 mg. 90ct 2 a day, then 90 ct 3 a day. That hurt! Doctors know there are other meds that help with anxiety but once I’ve been on them for years. Now he died in November! So, I’m down to .5 mg and the Dr. Who gives them to me thinks like a drug dealer!
Me: “doctor you gave me 15 day supply and I had more anxiety than any other time being locked down”. Having no family I would think she would understand!
Said to me “I have 35 patients a day”, and hung up on me. The thing was I wasn’t even calling for Xanax and she starts screaming like a dope dealer to an addict!
I call the office and told them to listen. This LPN is screaming at me and saying she has more patients! Then look for another career! If you don’t have five minutes for me then why did u call me!
Spoke to the doctor and he calls back to go get my meds. I’m so tired of Xanax. It’s a hell of a drug. It can kill you having high blood pressure, PTSD. I got this from the military! Think they care? They got you by the cojones!
Example: cannabis, so many people got arrested now the government wants in on the money! And it’s not real cannabis it’s GMO Monsanto! Not good.
Re: Molly6922 (# 294)
I found nothing factually wrong with what Skyblazer wrote, you sound somewhat unhinged? Perhaps these medicines are not for you, possibly a Doctor would suggest SSRI's, therapy, or hospitalization? The medication you listed, along with Xanax will cause you to be groggy. Are you currently being seen by a Mental health provider, these internet forums are only so helpful?
