Here is the breakdown in Minnesota for 2011-2012...

1. MAPS (Edina, Maple Grove, St. Paul, Shakopee, Fridley, Coon Rapids, Chaska)

Review: I have been there one time a few years back but know others who have been as well. They will not prescribe pain medications on the first visit, and are the MOST stubborn of all in the Twin Cities.

Twin Cities Pain Clinic: (Edina)

I don't know I have never been or heard of anyone from this clinic.

Twin Cities Pain Centers: If you look this place up online, they will be listed under some other name... Here is the link to their web site with phone numbers....
twincitypaincenters.com

REVIEW: Went there for a couple months. They are always changing doctors and prescribers. They are starting to accept insurance, but this is a CASH based clinic, that pretty much will get you what you want if you have a document and history of pain. Appointments cost $300 on first visit, $200 there after.
*They never fill scripts early, got discharged for it, so don't ask
** They are starting to build in popularity so if you want in you better get there now. Soon it will be too large and they'll end up having to fold because they can't be legit. They answer the phone "Doctor's office?" Who does that right, why not just say, Twin Cities Pain Clinic?

United Pain Clinic: (St. Paul) The Allina system is very tight knit and they are getting cracked down on for writing prescriptions for opiods to anyone who does ...

REVIEW: Decent but it's part of a mighty conglomerate. They review your file before allowing you to visit. No one is guaranteed an appointment. Once you're in, you're in - but I will say if you've been shopping at an Allina Clinic anywhere in MN, they'll know

Health Partners: They have a ton of clinics all over the place. There are some doctors that will help you if you are a good enough actor and there are some that are complete NO's....

REVIEW: I am biased towards this place because a doctor helped for a long time here, but it's not easy to get them by any means. It's a huge patient-base an they see enough doctor-shoppers to be well-aware of it. I don't recommend it for newbies. Same goes for Park-Nicollet, Fairview, and Family Health Services

The Britton Center of Saint Paul: If your insurance allows you to go there, they are strict, straightforward, and upfront.

REVIEW: Probably the best place to go in the Twin Cities if you want a complete total rehabilitation of your pain. They are much more thorough nowadays then they were, let's say 5 years ago.... You can get oxycodone, hydrocodone, and others on your first visit. Be honest with these people and they will help you.

I will add more as I find them... If anybody knows of any in MInnesota, please add them to the site, I would like to hear about your experiences and the place you go to.

THAT IS WHY PEOPLE THAT ARE IN LEGITIMATE PAIN NEED TO KEEP FIGHTING. THERE IS NO REASON THIS IS HAPPENING. IF SOMEONE HAS ANY OTHER HEALTH CONCERN AND THERE IS A MEDICINE OUT THERE TO FIX IT - THEY ARE PRESCRIBED THAT MEDICINE. TELL ME, IF THAT PERSON WERE TAKEN OFF THE MEDICATION WOULD THE CONDITION WORSEN? SURE IT WOULD! WOULD IT SEEM LIKE THEY WERE IN WITHDRAW? SURE IT WOULD! BUT THE MEDICINE IS STILL PRESCRIBED. I AM SO SICK OF THE WORD ADDICTION! I JUST READ THAT A PATIENT IS NOT ADDICTED IF HE/SHE LEGITMATELY NEEDS THE MEDICATION. IT'S ONLY REASON. KEEP FIGHTING. EVENTUALLY SOMETHING WILL TURN AROUND. MAYBE SOMEBODY NEEDS SUED? IF A DIABETIC WERE KEPT FROM THEIR MEDICATION - WHAT WOULD HAPPEN? WHAT ABOUT A HEART PATIENT? I WISH SOMEONE WOULD WALK A DAY IN THE LIFE OF SOMEONE WITH CHRONIC PAIN AND TELL ME IF MEDICATION SHOULD BE KEPT FROM THEM? MEDICATION THAT HELPS THEM LIVE A FUNCTIONING LIFE. A PATIENT WITHOUT ANY ABUSE HISTORY. NO WRONGFUL TAKING OF THE MEDS, ETC.... JUST A HISTORY OF DESTROYED KNEES - BACK - NECK AND FIBRO. NEEDED TO VENT.

My doctor stopped prescribing me vicodin due to the new law here in FL. Does anyone know any doctors in FL still prescribing schedule II drugs? I don't have insurance and can't afford to go through all the MRI's again. I have multiple injuries and the Tramodol does not help as much.

I cannot believe any of you actually thought someone would post their source for hard narcotics on an Internet forum. The wave of patients that doctor would see for these medications would be overwhelming and put the professional at tremendous liability. The doses and chemicals being discussed here with the exception of Vicodin and tramadol are not even prescribed by 90% of medical professionals simply because they are so addictive and so dangerous. In all honest if you have actually seen every compentant professional you can, go to Mexico and purchase it over the counter. Ship it anonymously back to a p.o. Box in the united states and stop begging the Internet to provide you with drugs.

I don't think we live in the same State, but a friend of mine gave me the number of a dotor feel good. He prescribed me, the xaax I asked for, plus oxy. but I don't want the pain killers. This is too weird, having a doctor prescribe you something you don't want. I swear the wait to seem him was 3 hours, he has been doing this or years. Great for the people who really need their meds. Bad for the junkies that don't

Well, I found a good doctor that isn't just a "Is that where it hurts, mmmhmmm, ok, heres a script of Vic's" doctor, lol. I recently, as in a week ago, found out my VA Insurance will expire in June. So, Im really lucky I worked enough hours to get my Ins kicked in because I went to see a Doctor that looked at my old Script, asked me about it and why I take it, and then asked if it is helping. I explained that I was originally prescribed the 10/325mg Percocet and that it was the best for taking care of my pain until I was misdiagnosed by a friggin moron of a Doc and told nothing was wrong with me. So, he told me he would prescribe me the Perc, enough for 4 a day and schedule MRI, Blood work etc. And it ended up being a twofer, lol, as he is also a Childrens Dr, so my little girl can get on my insurance too.

Same here. I am treated like a criminal when I do have a prescription filled. I'm 70 years old, been in and out of the hospital five times in the past few years, yet I find the medical establishment afraid to help me with the medication I need because they themselves are afraid of "the government." Does it really matter if I am "addicted" to feeling better, and living a better and more productive life, at my age? If homosexuals can convince the government that it is their right to marry, then those in pain should unite against some of these ridiculous government regulations and get the help they deserve.

Stu, go to the DEA website and look up the Federal Laws and go to your State Law website and the Medical Board website in your state. Look up the laws that govern the meds you want her to prescribe and see if her concerns are justified. To find these websites put DEA in your search bar, for state put "your state AND laws governing prescribing controlled substances" for the medical board put "your state medical board' in the search bar. The medical board websites usually have guidelines for drs prescribing pain meds and/or controlled substances

I'm looking for someone near Columbia, SC. I have been seeing doctors for chronic back problems for years with MRI's etc. I experience routine moderate to severe pain and the only person I have right now to see me quickly and right me prescriptions is my primary care who prefers I go to the specialist and that is what I want. The specialist I have found have been amazingly uncaring and unsympathetic despite ackowledging there are multiple issues. I just saw a neurosurgeon who is referring me to a pain management clinic and I found out it takes 1-2 weeks to see if they will even take your case....absurd and uncompassionate from a pain management facility as far as I'm concerned. Imagine a major flair up......will I have to wait 1-2 weeks to get any relief??? It's ridiculous!!! I have no desire to be addicted to pain killers but they work, can be responsibly managed, and allow me to have some decent quality of life. I am a husband and father and the chronic pain has a major negative affect on all aspects of my life. Any help finding any doctor in or near the Columbia, SC area would be greatly appreciated.

I want to explain something about my pain and how it affects my ability to function, or lack of. When I am in the 'throes' of pain, the last damn thing I can do is 'search out a pain management doctor.' I can't even get out of bed, let alone make myself presentable to go doctor shopping. I'm consumed with the pain, my body, mind and spirit. I can't begin to fathom how I could grab up a phone book and be coherent enough to try to organize a list of pain clinics. (I am probably wasting my breath here-but damn! It feels good!) I'm lucky to be sitting here long enough to type this. (But my ire's up-great motivator.) I live in a fog. A fog of pain, confusion, loneliness, suffering. I could barely function with the meds. Because of the sadly uninformed (oh, they're informed alright) who know what's best for me, I can't function now at all. Thank God my time is short-I'm miserable and consumed by pain. And this i**** wants me to doctor shop? Get out of my life, my posts, this site. You're not wanted, your advice is not sought after, you don't have any reason to be here. I want to chat with people who care, you're wasting space. For the uninformed who continue to attempt to educate, at least I hope that's the intention, you've no idea what you're talking about when you try to give advice about pain management. I don't understand what your purpose is here, your goal, what end result you're looking for. Why are you even posting? Who are you and what do you want? Why don't you take your unwelcome advice and share it with folks who want and need it? If I ignore you will you go away? You're like a blister, a little annoying sore, rubbing and pestering. We are sick and probably, sadly, dying here. You've no business putting your two cents in and sucking up what precious little energy we have. Go away.

I must agree with all the people on this forum that truly do suffer from intractable pain. There is always one or two that has to put their two cents in that have no idea what its like to live in pain 24/7. My self have been dealing with my pain for 23yrs so I know all to well about being treated like a drug addict, doctor shopper, and/or a criminal. I've had to change dr,s a few times and it is no easy task, having to go through all of my history about my pain and treatments, etc. The dea and other gov. agencies need to stay out of what the dr,s prescribe and what and how many pain meds we take to control our pain. Seems we are losing more and more of our right to live as comfortable, pain free and to put what ever we want into OUR bodies to control our pain especially when drs prescribes the meds we take. I hope that everone on here can find a good dr that wont judge them for having to take high doses of meds for pain, some of them mad me feel like a junkie, or say its all in your head, I didn't ask to get hurt or to have to live my life in pain! God bless you all

Have you tried writing to someone higher than him? People who do not have to "live" in the misery of constant pain, and the depression and anxiety that it eventually causes, have no idea what you're going through. You have to explain it to them. Some of us "want" to do more than the pain allows us to, we want to "live" and do even simple things, like work, take walks, play with children, clean house, etc., that we are only able to do if we can subside the pain. They have no idea that for someone who has constant pain, we know being addicted is a given, we may not like it, and it's not because addiction came from recreational use, and abusing the medication, but because taking pain medication to get through the day is like having (in a different priority) is like having food or water everyday, it's a "necessity '' for normal functioning. They think that EVERYONE who takes pain medication are only doing it for recreation, and completely shut out the fact that there are many who "suffer" because of the constant pain, and the mental and emotional anguish, and sometimes hopelessness of having to face it everyday.

Look how many people are literally begging for pain medications on this website alone. And then there are the probably millions of others who are legally suffering in pain because the federal government has finally stuck their nose in the business of providing pain management. It's all downhill now, and these websites full of serious medication seekers whether they are legitimate or not. We are done, and you can blame it on the Pharmaceutical industry, one company in particular, the Attorney General's Office, the FDA and CDC, none of who knows or cares about what they have done to making legitimate chronic pain management patients ability to get opiate medications for treatment IMPOSSIBLE!!! I will be writing a book soon about one of the most corrupt pharmaceutical companies in our country and how they have cost people's lives, intentionally omitted very dangerous side effects from their drug insert causing horrific, lifelong medical problems, only to continue to load their deep pockets and the deep pockets of the so-called pain management specialists that are rude, uncaring and treat their patients like the scum of the earth. I'm going to blow the lid off this issue, and I just hope that what I disclose will bring the right kind of attention to those of us who are really suffering and need the medications that we are being deprived of.
