Can you tell me about any doctors who can prescribe Vicodin

We lived in Michigan-petoskey, farmington hills, & battle creek. FORGET any pain clinics on the west or central or south central-they gave me non-narcotic-HEAVY CRAP that ruined my stomach or told me to go to er! When we lived in farmington hills, i FINALLY got help! Dr. Guseppi Paese helped me with Percocet or whatever worked & at times I needed injections. All I felt was a "pain prick". He was wonderful & kept me pretty much out of pain! There was another pain clinic by Novi (forgot the name). It was a pain clinic & had physical therapy.

Hey BL, FYI THere are ways around getting another pain doctor even if a patient signed a contract, the patient gets a referral from their primary doctor not their previous pain doctor. Believe me when a person is desperate they WILL find a way, I certainly have.

Hi Snappy, sorry to hear about your back. Do you actually have something structurally wrong, like with discs in your spine or anything, or is it "invisible pain"? I'm asking because I have severe Fibromyalgia & other stuff that probably won't show on an MRI (although I do have straightening of the spine that would show on an x-ray so I'm going to ask for one). Some doctors don't think there's pain if they can't see structural trouble so just wanted to ask.

But I live in po Indiana now my doctor was dr Mondursova on grand river I would travel all the way there to get all my meds boom in no shape to travel that far anymore I lived in Michigan for 24 years she been the best doctor I ever known had her for 14 years

BL, I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SAYING, BUT I PERSONALLY HAVE GOTTEN NEW PAIN MANAGEMENT WITHOUT INVOLVING PREVIOUS PAIN DOCTORS, YES YOU ARE CORRECT, THEY SEE WHAT MEDS ARE PRESCRIBED ON THE COMPUTER, BUT IF SOMEONE IS SMART, THEY CAN GIVE A REASON WHY THEY LEFT THEIR PREVIOUS DOCTOR, THIS HAS HAPPEND TO ME. IT TAKES A BIT OF THINKING THE STORY OUT, IT IS HARD YES, BUT CAN BE DONE BECAUSE I HAVE DONE IT NUMEROUS TIMES, ALSO THE PATIENT CAN GET THEIR OWN MEDICAL RECORD AND HAND OVER WHAT THEY WANT. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WHEN I TELL MY NEW DOCTOR I LEFT MY PREVIOUS PAIN MANAGEMENT ON MY TERMS.

Being the pain clinic refused to see me the day of my appointment cause I wasn't there at 2:30 appointment was at 2:50 they rescheduled me till march I see my regular doctor February 7th I'm wondering if she would fill my hydrocodone as she did twice before. till I got started with pain clinic that wouldn't allow me to come in I was 3:4 the way there what shall I do I never been to pain doctor before. The way my old doctor had me on a medication regiment worked after years of different medication now I think they want to change what is working for my condition I need real advice here thank you. nascarjoe

Ascarjo, I think if you explain this to your other dr you probably have a good shot of that dr writing a script seeing that it sounds like it would be for just one month. A similar situation happened to me so I am telling you from experience. Hopefully your Dr will understand your situation. The dr will probably tell you that it is a one time thing so ask, the worse that could happen is the dr says no, but if you don't ask you will continue to be in pain. I would think since you have a scheduled appointment with a pain Dr you have a good shot at the Dr writing at least for a one time deal, hope this helps.

Thanks that's what I'm afraid of she almost didn't write one last month cause I didn't go to therapy I told her why for insurance reasons my new insurance kicked in on the first I went to every session she knew I was on my way to pain clinic I called them and told my dr nurse they rescheduled me till march I really don't like the nurses attitude when I call they Make me out to be a drug addict I don't even like taking pills but my old doctor put me on
This regiment that worked now every one wants to change it I called another pain clinic asked my doctor to send a referral still have not heard from them yet

I have not signed any contract with any pain clinic this is all new to me I wasn't impressed with the attitude the doctor referred me to so I chose one my self and she willingly referred me to the clinic I wanted but I'll see her before my first visit with clinic I'm
Not desperate about meds I just know what me and my previous doctor in Michigan I had for 14 years had to go through to help with my issues on pain we tried everything under the sun even fentanal patches that didn't work

That's the unfortunate part of relocating and having to change doctors. You can only do so much to try and convince the new doctors what worked for you previously if there not inclined to Prescribe the drugs that your previous Doctor felt comfortable prescribing. More and more the restrictive narcotic mandates make these docs Leary to prescribe anything addictive despite your condition.Its truly a dilema for the legit. Chronic pain patient. I wish you the best in finding one that provides the relief you seek. Regards.

Nascarjoe, you have to keep calling the clinic you were referred to, this has happened to me before and sometimes the referral gets misplaced or it's not a priority to them. Everyone nowadays has to be very proactive in their own health care. Just call them again and ask when you can get your appointment scheduled. Just giving you some advice, and yes we are all left to feel like we are junkies. One of my doctors who prescribes me my anxiety meds told me to be very careful at a new doctor when asking for pain meds, his wife is a doctor and when she finds out a potential new patient is on narcotics the receptionist is told to tell the person they are not taking new clients. Point blank, it sucks to be a chronic pain sufferer, everyone has to jump through hoops to get a good, caring, compassionate doctor these days. We are all in the same boat and it is frustrating, aggravating, and very discouraging to say the least.

Thanks I got my doctor to refer me to another clinic cause they cancelled me as I was almost there my appointment was for 2:50 but I was to be there at 2:30 for some other type of paperwork they never mentioned and didn't like their attitude so I'm waiting on on other clinic to give me appointments

BL, AGAIN YOU Are CORRECT, I am just saying if the patient did nothing wrong, or explain what they did and why they did it. But your post said another doctor would not take the patient if he/she had a contract with another doctor and is not true. That is what I was responding to you about.

Marshall Keith Gardner in NE Philadelphia. Use to get four 80mg Oxycontin and eight 30mg Roxicodone a day. Be prepared to pay a few $100 for initial visit and like $150 per additional visit.
