Nascarjoe, it sound like to me they gave you a line of bs when they would not see you and it was their fault for not telling you to be there at 2:30. Better off getting another doctor hope it works out, keep me posted.

There are allot of good doctors in chi town I have one that prescribes my oxi's and Dilaudid and has for many years but my cp condition is documentable.Surgery,Interventional therapy,Treatment and lesser narcotic meds proved ineffective.Im honest with him and rarely use the prn meds as prescribed and he is fine with continuing narcotic pain protocols for me and others I have met there.I believe most reputable doctors around are open to treat patients for pain as long as they have appropriate documentation to justify the prescribing of powerful narcotics.

Your best bet is to contact your insurance provider for participating physicians.Then call them and schedule an appt. for an examination.
Very few doctors prescribe the same meds that prior doctors have unless in their medical opinion it's warranted.

I really need to find a good Dr who will prescribed me Fentanyl patches or Oxycontin in the Spokane or Coeur d'Alene area. I have rheumatoid arthritis and have constant back pain along with that. I am in omaha NE and so far I have gone to two doctors and none have offered me any relief for my pain. Does anyone have any suggestions of a pain doc in my area? I'm tired of the misery and not being able to get out of bed some days, I have a toddler and some days I have to have my husband stay home from work to take care of her bc I can't get myself out of bed. It is awful yet no doctor seems to take me serious.

I am sorry but even if you have documentation, surgeries, never failed drug panels, it is simply impossible to get a doctor to prescribe narcotics or at least cutting them down. If you are getting your meds still you are one of the lucky ones. I fortunately get mine but at a very reduced amount. The doctors are told to cut back or cut off, they look for reasons to get rid of their patients. Who knows what will happen but it's not going to be in the chronic pain patients favor, I know this for sure!!

I have spondylosis, scoliosis, & radiculopathy, I was in pain management til our chief broke the contract with them. The drs at my hospital treat every1 like drug addicts who are in chronic pain. I'm in Tulsa, ok. I'll give access to my medical records to a Dr who will help me.

He was shut down!!! He was closed by the DEA for over prescribing and for several deaths due to overdose. I have just heard after losing his license is now he is in jail for tax fraud.

This is exactly why the government is cracking down on opioids. Not only is it because of addicts ruining it some doctors have been reckless in their prescribing and doctors are told to cut back or they will loose their licenses, they are NOT going to risk their livelihood for anybody. I don't no what the answer is but us lagitame ppl are screwed.

I regret to tell you that the pain management docs will give u ibuprofen, injections abd no narcotics. Their view is if you don't like it, there's the door. That's just how it is. Thanks to the CDC. Good luck!!

Sorry you WILL NOT FIND A LEGIT prescriber in your area willing to treat you with opiates or opiod class medications in this day and age. All pain management is interventional at this time I'm afraid to inform you.

Sorry for being dumb, but where is chi town? What state and where is it near? I would love to think there are still compassionate drs for LEGIT documented patients. I have records, diagnostics, plus I am obviously in pain due to broken arms, knees which are not able to heal or fix due to bone disease. I lost my 15 yr. pain dr. then couldn't locate another to help my constant pain after trying over 25 drs., going broke on appts., agony of traveling to new offices, etc. Then finally after a 2 hr drive each way I found a dr. to give me a very small amount of pain meds. I now stay in bed everyday.. My life is over, body being destroyed from constant pain so I am not long for this world.

I'm from Augusta, GA. I've been on pain meds for years but my primary physician just got out of pain management so I need a new dr quick that will give me hydrocodone 10/325. I'm 65 and have been declared disabled by a federal judge.
