BL, I do know what doctor shopping is and when you have to find a new dr. because he may have retired or was sick and died. Dr. Tenant was my dr and was a very good pain dr at that. That being the case of a doctor passing away ,you must look for a doctor that will take you on as a patient, not all drs. accept new patients then you have to try another one only they are not taking new patients either. so off to another one , then the think you are dr shopping even if you get no meds from him. You are a uninformed morron

GL, you wasn't there when he called them and I was and heard the conversation. So before you speak know your facts, people like you seem to know a little about some things but don't know crap about alot of things.So keep your thoughts and know it all to your self. I,ve been dealing with drs and other medical personel for over 23yrs. yours untruly

F100, doctor shopping isn't going to different dr alone. It is going to different doctors for the purpose of obtaining prescriptions. Drs as well as pharmacists and others can look you up in your states Prescription Monitroing Program Database and see what drs you've gotten rxs filled from since their datebase first started. By the way, your pharmacist didn't call anyone and ask if the rx you had was too much. Things like that are what pharmacist tell customers because they know the customers will never know the difference.

You are right in saying the DEA needs to get out of our Doctor's visits and ability to write for any treatment they feel will be best for us.
That includes Marijuana. I have found it to be much better for pain than morphine. Now I just have to wait for my state to include to add some diseases to it's list. Check out Marijuana Policy Project (mpp.org) under their science section. Even the white house has updated some of their numbers. They say about 9% of the population will become addicted (those who are prone to it) and people who already have mental problems may have a problem (again those who are prone to that). Gin, I am in same boat. When I have tried to find dr closer to home they label me as a drug addict without know my history. I have been on pain meds for over 22yrs. Tried everyone they wanted me to but they didn't work for me. then got labeled as a drug seeker, I have 3 disc fused and screws and rods also. If only they could walk in our shoes for a week (they wouldn't make it) without pain meds. We have the right to see as many drs as possible to find the one that would help us, but they call that dr shopping and it is. We have the right to second opinions for other ailments but we can't shop for a good pain dr is buls***. I had my pharmacist call our state board of pharmacy to ok the amount of meds I was prescribed and they said it was ok to let me have that high of dose. My prescription was from out of state which made no difference to them. I have known people that has nothing wrong with them and walk out of drs. office with a script of narcotics when I couldn't even get enough to get me 24hrs. Let the junkies go get H which is cheaper and stop f***ing with our drs. so we can get pain meds that we need. someone need to change laws to help us legit pain patients or they will have a H epidemic that will kill more people than ant controlled pain meds. I'm one PO ed pain patient!!!!

What do you mean u may never get feeling back after using tramadol? What happened to you from being on it for longtime? Im on it now and have been off and on for 18yrs so I would like to know your story?

I understand believe me. I was taking Oxycodone 30 mgs. (1 every 6 hours) & Norcos 10 mgs. (2 every 4-6 hours). DEA comes in shuts him down now I have had to go "cold turkey!" It got so "bad" I went to ER three times (different hospitals) all that they did was flagged me for being "Narcotic Abuse" & "Opiate Dependence!" Then NOBODY will take me cuz of what I was on! So I guess honesty is NOT always the best policy! However, they will just turn around & do (& did do) a background check to see what u r on. So then they still "got you" then it's worse for lying to them. They won't even "help" me wean down! Karen is "right on" it IS TRUE the doctors r "running scared" DEA is out to shut them down! Yet, now they r going to legalize marijuana, which is a drug that is addicting & also affects one's mental stability! What the heck u can go get a script for marijuana but those who r in need of pain medication can't receive their narcotics! What the Hades is with that "crap?" Sorry but I have been going through pain & the effects of going "cold turkey" since October & it is NOT getting any better! Stupid DEA & doctors! What the heck that is messed up when the doctors won't even help a person anymore! Don't move to Illinois they r useless in this state!

Used Up ... U said it !!!! whole truth is y is it even still called HEALTH & CARE. U go in & keep saying how horrible U feel on a med & they look away!! Type type on the computer. No real eye contact, or compassion.u get sicker & they all c it when u practically R crawling in. Saying the same thing! Y any of these so called doctors R still in any practice. It's so sad 2 c. The revolving door policy is strong, so let's call it as it has become... That's it... Revolving door MDs. It took such a drastic measure 4 me on my own 2 finaly just STOP cold turkey off that #**#**# TRAMADOL!! Now I've got the bills 4 the hospital, ER & squad. Love 2 send them 2 my doc. Who saw me going down hill !! Now so many R hurting it makes me sick 2 think this great country is letting so many people suffer. That pain management system needs 2 b shut down & b redone. No I can't take the shots, oh we won't c u then. Wat a joke !! A great money maker. Keep going back & I no so many others who can't get the help they need.then 2 go seek help & b told 2 lose weight all in a 5 min.visit. Well worth the money again.type type on the computer.after I waited 45 min. Thanks 4 that from a male doctor. Like 2 c if he's got that behavior with the men he see.just saying !! U no doc that was uncalled 4 is wat I said & left.then I hate 2 say I did cry most of that day. G not like I wouldn't want 2 lose the weight that some of these Meds caused me 2 gain..,& it's not like U even comfortable 2 talk 2 a doctor @ all anymore.i am getting as much paper work 2gether & am in touch with my states board of health.between the bills,family & friend issues not understanding everything is a MESS. Life truly shouldnt b this hard & lonely.telling a doc that u have 2 crawl around ur house 2 just get a few things done & again... The revolving door spins... I feel 4 all who can't find help !! We as people deserve so much better. It is time 2 b treated better by docs who have a backbone. Keep writing stay informed. If this crazy doc had her way she wanted me on tramadol, lexepro & cymbalta. Thank god my ins. Said no & the pharmacist 2. They no more than these docs. If u need 2 ask them & get the info U need !! Don't b poisoned. My best 2 all & as always please stay safe. I wonder how my apt.On the 5th will go! I've been told from the ER doc I might never get some of my feeling back in parts of my body from being on that Tramadol 4 way 2 long. So that's a great gift 2 live with.thanks docs.grow up & HELP !!

Does anyone know of doctor in the Ky area. After 3 spine operations now they don't want to give narcotic pain meds. Have been taking 4 oxycodone 10's a day.

I hope you found a Dr i live in Excelsior Springs, Mo like 25miles north of kc, im from Lee's Summit, Mo ive lived here for 3yrs and I went from fentanyl patches to 3 ultram a dy so I totally understand what you are going thru.

Report the Dr for undermedicating to your State medical review board.
Rediculous.
Surgery like that can be excruciating.
Aspirin is negligence on your Dr's part.
Report him.
Find a real Dr.

I just had surgery and I need pain meds for my Achilles tendon.

My doc won't prescribe me nemore ...keeps telling me to take asprine. However it is useless at this point...

I have a chronic lower back pain. I have had it for 8 years now. I've had two surgeries and have lots of titanium hardware in. I just recently moved to the Kansas City area and had to find a new doctor. I have been turned down medication 3 times now already and am almost out of my medicine from where I moved from. I feel hopeless. I've been on 8 hydros a day for 2 years til now. Can anyone help me find someone that will continue my pain medication

I need a doctor in Florence SC or Dillon to provide me with 15mg Oxycodone and something for panic attacks please, I was in a head on collision and I was hurt bad was in the Hospital for 54 days and had 10 surgery and I have bolts in my left hip and pins in my right ankle.

Janet Marie. It's like u said... It's a terrible burning that like swirls around up & down on my left leg & top of my foot. Then some on the right leg.
