Doctors Who Will Prescribe Pain Medication In Rhode Island
(Newest replies first)

I am looking for an MD or Pain clinic that will prescribe pain medication in Rhode Island. I have 4 herniated discs, nerve damage in my leg, severe migraines. My former Md said that he could not longer prescribe due to the regulations, I dont want to have to move, that would be crazy to have to go through that, but I also do not want to continue living night and day in Agony, with not one Md that has any compassion, it seems all they care about is to look out for themselves, I only take 2 pain medications that I believe are both in class 1, but when you talk to a doctor about pain, they tell you to take tylenol. I am tired of theses doctors just caring about themselves, if you have a patient like myself, that has the MRI's and Catscans to show what my pain level is, they should be a little more compassionate. I am not able to have surgery at this time, not until my daughter is driving and able to get out on her own, grocery store, ect. I would really appreciate any advise, I sleep with a heat pad every night on my back, but when I go to get up, the pain is unbearable.

Hello my name is Richell and I hurt my back moving, I’ve been prescribed anti inflammatory medication and muscle relaxers and I’m still in severe pain can you help me
Good luck....I don't know what the laws are in R.I. but mostly very limited now. The AMA has universal strict guidelines for the opiates. Damn shame too. You really have to have A LOT OF CURRENT MEDICAL DATA. Those good ole days are far gone with 30 percocets for the flu!!!! Either move to Amsterdam or elsewhere. Good luck

Did you get a doctor?
Re: Joseph (# 58)
That's insane. You only have pain from the meds a few months of subs and a few months of pain from cleaning body. Exercise and maybe some shots can get your life back.
Re: Victoria (# 94)
50 is lucky and enough for real pain, it's the limit. As of 2013 all narcotic will be phased out to banned 2025.

I don’t give a f*** how much pain you, or anyone else for that matter, says they’re in. There is no way you were taking 80mg of Methadone and 160mg of oxy daily and sit there saying you felt nothing but “normal”. Your version of normal must be very different than the daily reality experienced by the rest of us. On that much medication, no matter what you say, YOU FELT IT! You were at the VERY least euphoric and nodding out, which is far from normal. I am a patient of a methadone clinic and have been for several years now, therefore I speak from experience. I am so f***ing tired of reading these idiots’ posts. Notwithstanding the fact that most of you can’t even express a complete written thought without numerous misspellings, misspunctuations and juvenile grammar errors; you sound even worse trying to convince others that you take astronomical dosages of narcotic opiates and/or opioids and feel nothing. I have been on methadone for 8 years and I STILL can feel it everyday after I dose.

Re: Bobby (# 4)
Hi bobby. How can u help? My doctor now has cut me down to a 5 day supply, 20 pills for 2 weeks. Am about ready to loose my job or maybe be taken out and put on disability and have major surgery on my back and shoulders which would have me laid up for about 6 months..... Please advise. Thank you.
Re: His Wife (# 242)
I've been there an a couple of other people I know..she has no bedside manner at all she acts like your bothering her an she is tough to get meds from. I have had 2 back surgery's, have 3 herniated discs in my back with 2 bone fusions from the last surgery that didn't take a disc in my neck I could keep going on. She busts your ass an keeps having u go back for 6 wks or more I gave up an found someone else...I recommend you have someone else to fall back on. I hope everything works out for your husband.
Re: Robert C 1953 (# 241)
There is Biltmore pain on Smithfield Ave in Pawtucket..And also 73 Eddie Dowling highway in North Smithfield. They usually don't prescribe much more than 40-50 mg a day....but with your problems maybe they would do more. I hope this helps.
Re: Robert C 1953 (# 241)
I know a place an Attleboro, MA. It is right near Sturdy Hospital. It sounds like she will help you. You need to bring your current bottle and your end pain plan.
I am looking for a pain management doctor or clinic in Rhode Island that will help me with my chronic pain. I don't want to go through the methadone and I don't want to smoke marijuana because I do not want to feel high. Can anyone tell me about a pain management clinic or doctor that will prescribe my opiates that I need because I have no hip, no pelvic socket and a rod in my back with a broken bone in my back with a screw in it causing nerve damage. Any further operation in my back could paralyze me because I've already been finalized when I couldn't open my hands. If anyone has any information please leave it here. Thank you.
