Doctors In Michigan That Prescribe Methadone (Page 9)

Updated

I'm interested in finding a private doctor's office (not a clinic) that will prescribe methadone. I can't afford these clinics! Does anyone know of a doctor???

I don't know why this ended up posting my trying to re-edit these versions, then telling me it didn't post, when 1st post was up for review, I didn't see it posted all day, then it posted 2nd one twice.

SORRY EVERYONE!!
Now this one says it didn't go thu! so if it happens twice again I'm sorry!

As to my comment that was WRITTEN Poorly,
"ABOUT WONDERING WHY YOUR FAT?" SO SORRY.. I Have had an eating addiction, and got over it 28 years ago. I actually Like bigger people, and could give a rip about someone's weight, except for
the health problems it brings---what matter's is the KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE!!

WHY I said that so completey wrong---is that 98% of
the Depression, Mood-stabilizers & ESP. the ANTI-
Psychotics---Zyprexa (even one that goes under tounge) Causes HORRIFIC off the charts WEIGHT GAIN. I am 4'10" tall, and weighed about 105. The first Anti-Psychotic I took, Zyprexa Put 65 lbs on me in 6 WEEKS! I couldn't get full. I got off of that, but other's weren't as bad, but they kept my weight topping 178lbs. Now on someone that is 2" under 5ft tall, that is almost TWICE My NORMAL WEIGHT.

THIS IS ALSO WHY THEY "INDUCE DIABETES" and have lost a millon person (very lg.) Class-action lawsuit on that ALONE....BECAUSE THEY KNEW THIS BUT NEVER PUT IT ON THE LABLES. So almost all of these and other depression drugs cause such weight gain as it turns on the part of your brain that says you are hungry. BUT DOESN't SHUT OFF!! So even though I ate more, I really didn't overeat like you would think to weigh 2x you normal weight! As I dextoxed off of the drugs, the WEIGHT, miracleously FELL OFF!! I didn't diet or anything.

Thank God, that I don't have diabetes on either side of my family, or I'd have type one diabetes also, and my knees & hips were starting to hurt going up & down the stairs. Since I'm the height of a what 7 or 8 year old girl, can you imagine them carrying around 8-- 10 Lb bowling balls? My feet also developed "plantar fasciitis" because it is triggered by the onset of fast weight gain, which of course didn't go away even though I've detoxed for 15 months. So weight is a complex issue, and MANY of the "everyday" drugs Dr.'s put people on earlier and earlier, Cause this same thing to happen, just not ness. on these scales, but they CAN. So also Diets have a 99% failure rate, and after several diets, you body gets triggerd to thinking there is a famine, and causes you to actually gain weight, diet after diet. So stop beating yourself up over weight if you are on these drugs, because this "common side effect", is not your fault!!!! Just try to choose low sugars, and INVESTIGATE ASPARTAME (and all of the 60+ names they hide it under--I was told to investigate it as I was addicted to diet pop, and I would only give that stuff to anyone only if I wanted to slowly kill them). So please, try to if you choose to stay on these drugs, to not deprive yourself completely of Ice cream, chocolate etc., unless you are prone to diabetes or already have it. But to avoid the aspartame, you will need to also research that "poison" and see how they hide it in everything they can. Eat regular sugars, just usually you only need to satisfy your emotional craving.
Try to just cut up a candy bar, and have it in 6 pieces.
Then eat 1 or two at a time and get busy and go do something else, and you'd be suprised at how satisfied you can get after a short period of time. If you do that with Ice cream and other things (while your going down, may have to increase if not satisfied in 10 min, another small bite or scoop or whatever,
then get busy and, eventually you can enjoy all of these things, but not need giant portions to satisfy yourself. When your brain is telling you that you are starving and you just ate an hour ago, try to eat, self made popcorn with oil
and salt, and wean yourself slowly off the butter. if you absolutely Have to have butter, have it, unless your Dr. has instucted you otherwise. (It's human nature, if you tell some the can't have something period...then it's all you want!) Then you can make a large pot of it and munch on it thoughout the day, keeping you from feeling guilty about something you can't contol (cheaper and healthier than micorwave popcorn)--(or eat some other food you like that is enjoyable, the more variety the better, then use them till it's time to eat again) Seriously, until you get off of these drugs, and pray you don't get diabetes!--the weight will not come off!*** (Opiates depending on the dosage your on, and your other meds, can produce a "cocktail mix" that will also keep the lbs. slowly creeping on. But you can ONLY DO YOUR BEST! I have to have my pain medicine (Opiates for the rest of my life, so there is no judement, in fact the opposite! This is just to keep things as healthy as possible with whatever way you choose to take care of whatever health problem you have.) So much of the problem is HOLLYWOOD and judging health by weight is very poor system in first place--another story. That's why I feel it's so important to bring up this info. as they are dreaming up more and more ways to move people off of meds that are safer, but only make them 100% profit. They want you on whatever it takes to make 600% profit. EVEN high blood pressure (which goes way up when these other drugs make you eat the house and garage down), goes up, caused by weight gain. So can cholesterol medicines. Plus they can cause horrific leg cramps and so can GEODON, along with other areas of the body, extremely painful.

Hope this helps clear up my very bad sentance choice.
Sorry about all the posts, I hope someone does take the time to read one of them,

It's only prevent anyone from the horrifying things
that our media is repressed from publishing.
Best wishes to all!

First let me state I AM NO DOCTOR but I realize alot of people don't read the side efects that may happen after digesting the medication. In all likely hood the majority of people do not experience them and when we do we have to outweigh the benefits received. Alot of drugs psychiatric, opiates and numerous others may be dangerous to start but may be even more dangerous to stop. Withdrawals may be suffered & should be done under the care of Dr's. There may be hidden dangers of combining prescribed medications even at low dose. Detoxing can be a nightmare which most of us have suffered. Not all people are ignorant of addictions and side effects of our meds. In fact many of us are highly inteligent. Sorry so lengthly. Good luck to all and have a great Holiday. Please keep me updated as to who was able to get into a new doctor. Thanks!!!

Well has nothing to do with INTELLIGENCE, if the "Common side effects" that I mentioned as you feel
may outweigh it's use. That is a personal decision you
can NOW, do!
But I was on these "medicines" for 21 years--before they were ON there TO READ.

Maybe when a loved one blows their brains out in front of your other loved ones, etc., then you may feel much differently, other than a WOW. I worked balancing ten's of million dollar accounts before this, so I didn't used to have this speaking, & writing problem, at a highly monitored Gov't firm. But I agree, now my writing ability SUCKS. But hopefully people will see it is very heartfelt, just to give them a heads up...***If it doesn't apply to them, then they don't read it! And I feel Intellegient or NOT, those people realize it wasn't written for THEM. Many of us Trust our Dr's, etc, and helter skeleter living may prevent someone on a drug BEFORE 2007, and is still taking it like me, and not Notified of the MAJOR changes on the sheets, as it was not on any media, Told to me by any of my very Intellegent Dr's, or even at the Pharmacies, that there were SIGNIFICANT CHANGES. Many people (Including the TEACHING & TRAINING FACILITES aren't aware still of the change..It was only written for people who may not for whatever reason NOT know that these are the way they are NOW. Also how to safely detox off of them, because they still do not state it CLEARLY that they are HIGHLY ADDICTIVE, so they can have a reference of how to detox, as DR's (everyone I've ever talked to, disagree, because they are taught that THE ARE NOT!) I went to the Training School for Michigan State Univerity's (now Western Michigan Psychiatrists' training not a shabby outfit), and they would wonder WHY I needed help to DETOX when ESP. before 2008, and every Dr., Psych. or Family, etc., Isn't up to date on the fact that they ARE ARE ADDICTIVE (except for Opiates). So maybe you could let them know, as they constanly still tell me I am wrong, and have to carry my 46 sheet with me everywhere. I feel they are Highy Intellegent, but Highly busy, and may not be "Current". So if, none of the ones TEACHING interns & residents not aren't aware STILL, they would not understand thay you need to slowly detox off of Depression Meds., etc, ----. **Which is ALSO STILL not on the sheets in that manor, just says call your Dr.--if, when he may be closed, (weekend or holiday) & not have a back up answering serv. ETC, and what to do if your Doctor gets raided, as I read in previous posts, ETC for the opiates, Or Psych meds used "off-lable" for Many other things.
When it affects your family or loved ones personally, and the millions of others, then you may not only do a "WOW". You'd probably be at Capital Hill!
***IT IS A PERSONAL CHOICE,--as I said. I WISH It WAS AVAILABLE, 21 years and 40+ medicines EARLIER When I WAS INTELLIGENT. If they are "Common" then, they aren't RARE, as my dictionary tells me. Whatever.....
I didn't mean for it to post so many times, which I appoligized for. I also didn't know this site was from a Pharmacutial firm, which of course would have different outlook.
My Bad.
After a few more comments, no one will read it anyway,
and I'm not gonna waste my time when no one really wants to know the truth, till it's too late, anyway. Just best to all, no matter what your personal decision is!

Like I said I am not a Dr. Some are good, some are bad That's why their insurance premiums are so high. Don't mean to offend anyone on this site. Have great weekend.

You must not use this site very much or you would see that Pam gets ask so many questions. Her questions refer to mainly methadone and she has help tons of people. From what you wrote it sounds like you're talking alot about psych drugs and there is another area on this site that has questions and answers about that.

Hi Kriskozy, On this site our E-mail information is not provided to one another. I will keep in touch on this site with you. Dr. Pinson is a great place to go . You go in once a month, he is in Madison Hgts. Also in the office is Alyison. I try to see her when I go in. My first visit I told them I was already receiving methadone and I was looking for a new doctor with better hours. I have a few medical problems so I informed them it was fo my back and they did Xrays so it helps if you have insurance. There is Dr. Idrees in Warren 8 mile and I-75. He has cut his hours back. I stopped in there a couple of weeks ago to find out his hours. He is in on Wed. and Fridays. Usually 11:00 to 3:00 to 4:00 depending on how busy it is. His first visit was $225.00 and then 75.00 each week and you go in evry two weeks. You are in and out in no time.Any doctor with a DEA number can write a script but it needs to be for pain unless you go to an addiction specialist but then different rules apply. Going in once a month is a dream Dr. Pinson 248-589-1770, Dr. Idrees 586-755-7200. There is another doctor that works out of Dr. Idrees on the other days of the week. If you call then Lauren works for him but she can provide you some info about Dr. Idrees. Good luck.

Just a note. Dr. Alyison will no longer be at Dr. P's. Kate is taking her place who seems to be very nice and well informed.

Pam,
Hi I have been reading your posts and you have helped so many people. I am really at my wits end. I moved to Michigan from Pgh and have been on oxycontin 80 mg twice a day and oxycodone 10 for breakthrough pain for over 10 years. I have been unable to find a dr here to prescribe. (back Pain). Our insurance has recently changed to blue care network which sucks cause u have to find a pcp on their list. Anyway believe it or not I have been driving every month to pgh to get my rx filled in Pa. cause they wont fill out of state narcotics here. I simply can not do that anymore. Its costing me a fortune and my husband is literally ready to throw me out. He said if I can find a dr here then I can keep taking them otherwise I am I guess getting divorced. I can't work unless I have these meds on a daily basis. Im sure you understand that. He doesnt understand anyone being on pain meds. I guess I am addicted but who isnt after years? I am in pain. Anyway thats another horrible story. I really need a dr that will prescribe oxycontin for pain. I have used Methadone in the past. It wasnt prescribed. I had used it when I ran out of the oxys and someone was nice enough to give me some. I cant function without my meds. If I have to go on Methadone thats fine but I would rather stay on the oxys that I have been on. Do you know of any Dr that will prescribe preferably oxycontin? I live in the Flint area. Dont mind driving a little further. 6 hours one way is a bit too much! My husband is making me do rapid detox if i dont find someone within the next couple weeks. The detox place inserts an implant that blocks any opiates!!! So the strongest thing I could take would be Motrin. yeah right. I dont know what to do. If you have anything please answer as soon as u can. I am almost out of my oxycontin and I cant drive to pa cause my husband wrote down the mileage on my car. Thank you. I truly appreciate anything you have to say.

jovigirl, Sorry to hear about your situation. I have taken MI. scripts to Tenn. and have no problem getting them filled. Methadone is one I get filled. I don't know any Drs in the flint area. If you are willing to travel..Dr. Pinson has provided much help. He's in Madison Hgts and a office in Southgate. You only go in once a month 1-248-589-1770 but I don't know if he is taking on new patients at this time. What helps is that you are already on the medication. I have friends that go to a doctor on 8 mile in Madison Hgts off of I-75 and she is very liberal with her meds. I'll have to get you the number if you want it. There is a methadone clinic in Flint I believe it's called Eastside or Eastwood, I would have to check but I'm sure you don't want to go that route. You can't quit cold turkey. I'm sorry to say alot of people just don't understand our addictions. It's a shame to have to live this way. Way back on this site they was a person that had alot of connects with doctors. I think he charged a $40.00 finder fee. If you want me to provide you with that let me know. Good luck.

Pam, Hi It's jovigirl again. I so appreciate your reply.Dont want the meth clinic. I do have a question re Dr Pinson. Do u know if he will give oxycontin ? It looks like he just gives methadone or suboxene. Does he wean you off? I don't want weaned off at this point. I think i need to stay on for pain. I have to see if he takes blue care network. If you could give me the info in Madison Heights. You said she was pretty good about prescribing meds. What gets me is I have been on these for many years. And also I might as well check into the other person who knew some drs but wants a 40 finder fee. Could try that. My other problem is seeing if they take my insurance. If they dont and its not too much money I could probably talk my husband into letting me go. We had blue shield and we just changed to blue care network. I just cant do the rapid detox thing. It's nice to talk to someone who understands how we live. It's just a vicious cycle for me. I cant get a job if I cant find a dr who will prescribe here cause I cant be without them for even a day without being deathly ill and in pain. It is the worst feeling in the world. Thanks again. Sorry if I'm a pain in the butt.

jovigirl, I have tried to go back as far as I can on this site but can't find the guy with finder fee if I locate elsewhere I will let you know. Dr. Egilstine in Battle Creek writes pain meds 269-969-6040. I am told Dr Vargas in Midland in Midland writes for anything but I don't have his number Dr. P's number is on my other message to you. You really need a pain management clinic but they are so pricey. Hopefully someone else on this site might be able to help you out. Keep me posted. I'll let you know if I locate numbers. I really feel for you. I ran out of my meds the other day and went into a frenzy for a bit. I know your husband just isn't going to get it. I would imagine he grows tired of you talking about it. I hope something works out.
