Doctors In Michigan That Prescribe Methadone (Page 8)

I'm interested in finding a private doctor's office (not a clinic) that will prescribe methadone. I can't afford these clinics! Does anyone know of a doctor???

I would imagine you are talking about meth. I go to CVS, Rite Aide, Walmart just about any place. If you call ahead some might sat they do not have it because of robberies. So go in, make sure you have ID. It's not expensive but you must get the whole thing filled at one time or it becomes void on the remainder pills and you lose out. Good Luck.

Just wanna let you all know my old doc prescribes Methadone with NO problem Dr. Mansour in Clinton Twp/Macomb area, on Schoenherr & Hall Rd 586-323-0301 for Pain management. Just be legit with him, I lost 3 scripts (legitimately lost the paper script) in 4 months and had a $500 balance so I've recently been "DROPPED" as a patient unfortunately but he's a regular doc so he takes insurance and is very reliable & sympathetic as long as you are straight & legit with him....he can smell a seeker. I have chronic pain from 17 ab surgeries in 5 years and am starting at a new doc on Tuesday & worried about getting the same scripts as he had me on cuz he had me up pretty high on norcos (180 a month) as well as just upping my methadone back up to 40mg's a day, after I'd finally weaned down to 10mg's a day (and it was hell getting there). I also get xanax, klonopin and an anti-depressant so he's up for it but again, be LEGIT with him and he will help you. Truthfully, he saved my life and I am CRUSHED to have been dropped. My new doc is with the same hospital at least so my records are all available. Good luck to all.

OK Finger crossed, It sounds like you Dr. is there for pain.Alot of people are online looking for a doctor that treats addiction. When you say be legit are you saying he will not treat addiction only pain. Wow 3 scipts in 4 months. I know when I get mine, it's like gold to me so I have place where I keep mine. After you lost the first, 2nd then 3rd I hope you now have a safe place because that's a hard story for DR's to believe. So when you have time would you let us know if it's pain only. I know pain clinics are expensive. Thanks.

yeah pain only, I've had a hard couple of months with divorce and having all of my teeth removed and dentures made due to my malnourishment. It never occurred to me that it would be a problem my head was so full of other issues. I am trying to find a new doctor now and haven't been able to find 1 in MI my area, Fraser/Clinton Twp who will prescribe for me and withdrawals are starting to become horrible. Anyone know of any asap?

sorry I'm new to this lol well ivebeen on methadone 60mgs for almost a year and just recently failed a drug test. .worst mistake ever!!! needless to say my dr. will no longer write it for me. I've gone to 3 new drs with NO such luck finding someone who actually puses methadone!!! I made appt. with the dr. p you've mentioned...ill b going there next week. dr. p is on vacation i guess. but what about the other dr. A at that same office. I told the secretary whichever dr has earliest opening ill go to. should I tell the dr I've been on the 60mgs and it really does SAVE MY LIFE!! I FUNCTIONED like a normal person :-) what do u suggest I say or what's my best approach?? thank u again so much!!!

Amy, I like Dr. Alyison the best, she is very nice. I went in there told them I was already on methadone for pain. It helps for them to know you are on it. I went there because my other doctor was only open 3 days a week and I had to go in every two weeks. Once a month is so much better now. I told them it was for back problems, theydid a couple of xrays and I was all set. I heard another patient in another room asking for a higher dose of methadone and he wasn't pleased with that. If you do have an ailment you need pain meds for tell them that. I think evryone is so nervous when they go in but don't be. Afternoon appt. take longer. If you see DR.P it takes the longest. In the future if you have an extra $5.00 ask for a B12 shot seems to help. Keep me posted.

thanks so much Pam. just knowing they do use methadone is a huge relief! I do have pretty severe scoliosis and that's why I began receiving the medication. but working roofing for the last few months really puts me in pain so it seems like there may be other back issues other than just scoliosis. guess ill find out next week :-) will keep u posted :-)

p.s. I have a dr in the St. Clair shores/Warren area that will prescribe pain meds, methadone, pretty much anything...he's the dr who I was seeing for the past year. I've sent 3-4 other friends to him and they've got exactly what they asked for from him, BUT you will be dropped every month to continue receiving the scripts. so you Ave to be legitimate and really needing the meds, it also takes almost 3 months to her in if your a new patient!!

Hey Pam, I am going to try the numbers you posted in here me and my boyfriend are currently going to a methadone clinic in Clinton TWP, he is on 180 mgs of methadone and I am on 130 mgs of methadone. I am concerned about some of your posts because you said the dr's dont like to give that high of doeses out. I am just sick of driving 12 miles every other day to the clinic we both get take homes. My boyfreind has chronic pain I have chronic pain I dont want to list what we suffer from for fear of someone recongnizing who posted this. We also have both been adictied to every opaite in the book vicoden, oxycotin, roxy's, heroin, you name it which is why we came to the clinic. The clinic has allowed us to get our life back but we are sick of having to go so much and pay $80 a week when we could get our pills and only have to go every 2 weeks to once a month that would be so much better. I will let you know how it goes after I call its Sat so if I don't get a hold of any of them today I will let you know what I find out on Monday.

If anyone is trying to get ahold of Dr. Idrees he has changed the days he works. I have been unable to reach him by phone so I stopped in. He is only there Wed. & Fridays and not any regular hours to post you will just have to try. Karen no longer works for him so Lauren will be the person that will answer the phone.

BECAUSE IT CAN AND DOES KILL PEOPLE! OR PUT THEM IN A LONG TERM INDUCED DEMETIA, &/or NEVER RECOVERING FROM A VEGITATIVE STATE!!
ONLY 3 out of the 46 Medications ever "helped" me,
for about a year. Because, almost any Medicine, your brain will acclimate to it, so they stop "working" So 3 out of Forty-six and many several up to five times w/ different doeses and "coctails", had me so Over-drugged, Manic/ then Suicidal (never attempted suicide
before or/ on OPIATES. When you look @ your sheet of "Side EFFECTS" the Suicidal Ideations aren't even there for these now "evilized Opitates"!

People have been using sleeping pills, and painkillers to die for over half a century, and if they are suicidal, they will do it another way, if they don't get PROPER
THERAPY's THAT HAVE A HIGH SUCESS RATE!
(CBT, DBT, ETC). My ADRENALS, and now my brain's dopamine system are destroyed, so now need to have
Opiates for all the Physical Damage I now have. So
inorder to keep the 400-600%+ $$----- they are using
Psych. drugs, for also the pain of fibromyalgia, and
just about anything else they feel they can apply
these to, "off Label", (for 10 yrs w/ no documentation
or trials), rather than the safer Opiates. For me be-
sides the pain I now have, they are only way I know
of to replace the dopamine my brain no longer
produces due to these medicines (my research, fully
plead w/ everyone to also investigate themselves!).
(I had a neurological 3 hr. test, and shows
significant brain damage which I can prove did not
exist fully before the ANTI-PSYCHOTIC's by my
work history and the type of work I did) Addressing
Esp. Akathisia (please, encourage you to fully investi-
gate this "Common Side Effect" from HELL , which keeps your need to legitamately want anti-anxiety meds.
It gets more severe esp. with having to keep incresasing doses, along with contiuning to add this to that, is off the charts anxiety-pain, anguish, hard to
describe, that's why I plead for everyone to google it, as it can go away, but it is FREQUENTLY PERM. So I can not work at a regular job-If EVER again.
I am writing this because many people with whatever
is causing your pain, usually interfere's with a person's and family's life very neg., which then you go to the Dr. to start, because now you have, depression and anxiety etc. So because of the $$ and the Dr's ingrain-ed that you need this pill (and a very short stint with
one that works for a few weeks, and all is good and well, great!) But Many Many people take 2 days and
kill themselve or bring a gun to work.
Instead, Please research, Please, and be prepared if you already know your pain issues, and all the neg. that goes with it, After your research, MAYBE CONSID-
er finding a pay by income, or all sorts of Youtube,
& free forms of therapy all over if you don't have any
way to pay for therapy. Start your own Self-help group
in your area at a church or hall or someplace at Apt. complex someone can rent for free, etc., & my 2nd BIBle is Dr. David Burns Book: "FEELING GOOD"--
Down to earth, talks on easy to read & down to point,
but humorous also-- get on tape or Cd if don't have time to read or like me was so drugged couldn't remeber what I just read. Only like under $8 & best book in world,
along with many others. Everyone can gather
info., and learn how to do your own Self-help therapy
for free, just make sure the group has a way of rules so
everyone has a chance to participate & share.
Try this as an ALTERNATIVE FOR KNOWLEDGE OF
LIFE CHANGING SKILLS AND ALSO HAVE SUPPORT FOR FREE. LEARN TO ROLE PLAY, IT IS GREAT, and then keep pursuing esp. some way to
get a good therapist, as many AREN"T that great.
It's fine to FIRE YOU THERAPIST, AND GET ANOTHER TILL YOU HAVE A GOOD FIT. THIS I FEEL & ESSENTIAL & so do they.
All I needed was
good Cognitive behavorial therapist, and TO APPLY IT, and or Dialetical Behavioral Therapy Or whatever
has a high success rate, & works for YOU---

***If I had NEVER HAD THESE "LEGAL" DRUGS, I would have recovered,(because they did help me
before I was too far gone & before the ECT (shock treatment--PLEASE ALSO INVESTIGATE THIS!!).
This cost MY ENTIRE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND EVERYONE ASSOCIATED WITH ME HORRIFIC (dealing with the trauma of my suicide attempts, not wanting attention, or crying for help, these drugs put this & Millions of persons heads, then end up struggling w/ it 24/7. With all the other danerous things you do manic, because you feel invincable, hypersexual
etc. and all your loved ones etc., are hurt beyond belief, after a while they have to distance themselves to protect their own health/sanity. Then you are left all alone, too sick & broke to have engergy (because of
the ruining of dopamine & adrenals) to get to all the "support groups", therapists, etc. to get any support (I have found a good one right now, who will come to my home and she is my only support. But at least it's someone! And hopefully just moving for 7th time in 13 months I can do as I recommend above again, now that
my memory can actually retain what I just wrote, which
2 years ago I couldn't).

Being detoxed for 15 months now, I'm much better, but still drowning from all the repercussions that my family, friends don't trust or won't read all the books, stack printouts from (Pharmacy) on the 46 drugs, and don't trust that I'm better. (Can you BLAME THEM I DON't) BUT IT STILL HURTS THAT I JUST FOLLOWED MY
DR's. ADVICE & WAS SO BOMBED OUT I COULD-
n't even see how bad I was, plus no one else knew
what to do either. So now (because of never
being able to have kids etc.), I can only hope to help others PREVENT THIS OR HELP THEM STOP THE
MADNESS (& wonder why you are getting so FAT?) with being "Labled CRAZY *ss *itch".
I did spend all my money in the 90's
on alternative treatments, but none are paid by insur. and ran out of $$.
When trying to possibly detox, be prepared that you will probably know more than your Dr. about this.
Plus, they DO make $$ (whatever lingo they have for Legal "kick-backs"). So be prepared that THEY May even BULLY you for wanting to get off of these meds,
and or say you are not "compliant" etc. So If possible,
just say some true, (or if desperate I don't endorse lying
but just say personal reasons, $$, lack of sex drive,
or need to cut down for financial reasons on # of drugs
taking), anything so don't "upset their ego". Never push
that "RED BUTTON", as they will write that you are an uncooperative/opiate seeker,
Because I refused to take these mostly "off-label" but Cymbalta was just approved for Fibro, but It still with my history of 7 suicide attempts, using it twice already, made me extremely sick and didn't work, also Lyrica. Before I knew. So because I pushed the RED BUTTON I now am "flagged" and gives them a license
to talk to you in any abusvie way they can, and will,
and charge you to do it, then cut you off, write more bad stuff, never ends. Hopefully you can get & stay on
your safer Opiates, or at least RESEARCH THESE other SUBOXONE, ULTRAM/TRAMADOL,
ETC. fully before ruining your health!! PLEASE--
