Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 59)
UpdatedI have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!
No rainbow they do not .
Why cant they go higher then the 20mg I wld of thought they did im sorry 2 hear that its nt easy 2 switch from dr 2 dr like some ppl think it is. Did u try kasier were dr ryan is at?
Wendy, I'd like to speak with u privately if u wouldn't mind! But to the whole group here, I've heard from multiple providers and pharmacists that Hickenlooper is trying to make a law that no one can take 120 mg of ANYTHING per day! The doc's r freaked and we should b also! I suggest everyone in this group either calls or writes him! Is it a Democracy when doc's aren't allowed to practice medicine? I was told the max of MS would b dropped to a max of three sixty mg MS per the "encouragement" of the DEA! Please everyone write, call and demand that he walks a day in our lives and then he can determine what is appropriate or not! Please guys write! And Wendy, I'm a strong supporter of marijuana! I've seen it work miracles on friends of mine with cancer! It would b nice to have another option rather than just dispensaries! I'm shocked that the PA at CPR told someone that it was either the pot or the meds! Many people need the pot to tolerate the meds! I encourage everyone to give CPR feedback also on the dosage issues and why pot is tested for and is as legal as Motrin! The whole situation stinks! I've dropped my dosages down by well over a half, which anyone who did this will understand that it was twelve months of slight withdrawal! Not fun!
That all we need some a** hole deciding how much medicine cures all. I bet if his family was sick we wouldn't be in this mess. And of course you can contact me, I'm not sure how.
Does anyone know of a doctor that accepts insurance that is like CPR, this is starting to get really expensive and they gave me Oxy IR & OxyContin even though I told them OxyContin was not covered by insurance....so I'm paying to see the doctor AND out of pocket for the OxyContin.
I am open to trying alternatives but was not offered them. I saw Dr. May for the first time last visit and he was the one who did not offer alternatives....
I like CPR but I'm paying nearly $500 a month now when you add everything up :/
Try kaiser I go there or call the rocky mountain internal medicaine my husband goes to rocky and he pays $90 a visit cuz he has no insurance but call 1st he hasnt gone in 2months so they cld have gone up kaiser I do believe takes alot of different insurance call them as well
How do you talk on here privately ? I give my permission for the group to have my email .
I think that kind of info is on tha bottom of there web page cuz if u put numbers on they hold the message until they approve it 2 put it on
OMG, I can totally relate. I have all the same issues. The pain gets so bad that I asked my Kaiser doctor to admit me to the psych ward so I could not hurt myself. The only place I have found that prescribes actual pain medication is Colorado Pain Relief in Wheat Ridge, but it is expensive and they do not take any Insc or Medicaid. Cash only and they just raised their prices. Lots of hoops to jump through, but not so much pain.
How much are they ?
It only went up by like 5 dollars or so. I think it's $180, but I think that's cuz they are doing the mail prescription thing here soon.
Rainbow, does your husband receive pain medication from Rocky Mountain?
Mac-thats such a ripoff. 120 10/325 Norco is $40 at CVS cash.
Ask if you can take a written rx instead. They obviously own their own pharmacy and pocketing the crazy profits!
Yes he does mac but he is tryin 2 cut down just for work he doesnt like usin them at work cuz he is in construction and also kmart is cheap 2 for 30 of the percocet 7.5/325 is like $13
Janey girl I would love to talk to u. I sent them a email saying please allow
To KILLA: First off, you are obviously uneducated. You can't spell for s*** and USING ALL CAPS JUST MAKES YOU LOOK STUPID. It is obvious that YOU are nothing but a junkie, but most of us are actually in pain. You know nothing about pain and it is insulting to see some a**hole dope-sick with a third grade education telling legitimate pain patients that we are drug seekers. You have no business posting on a medical forum.
Hi I recently moved to CO and I was on 6 oxycodone 30mg a day but I can't even find a doctor to prescribe me 15mg ones. Can you please give me the facility you go to it would be extremely helpful.

Hi. I'm in the same boat as u. Have u found any Docs willing yet ?
I'm Jay
They don't own their own pharmacy, trust me. And $180 isn't bad to have relief. I would pay $300. Every single other doctor I've seen besides my Primary who used to write all my pain meds and somas until the higher ups said no more pain management. They do give written scripts. They have been doing it for years. They are just trying to change to the same mail service the VA uses. And ya I went to Kmart last month. They're cheap and really quick. I have insurance so my scripts are only $15 for generics and then I get like 40% off of name brands. But I would much rather stick with generics because it saves me a lot of money with having to pay $180 for the doctor visit.
do you even know CPR sara? Because I am positive they don't own a pharmacy. I have been getting written scripts for almost a couple years now.
