Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 60)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

So did they finally switch to the mail thing at cpr or still trying to figure some stuff out still? Cause last I heard they were thinking about not doing it in till they have a new p.a or throwing the idea out completely.

I know exactly where you're coming from. I'm 37 and I just had major spine surgery. That being said, Colorado Comprehensive Spine Institute took really good care of me. when you go they will take care of your every need, including pain management! And they take Medicaid! Just don't Dr. hop and they will give you what you need. Hope that helps.

Im going to call them first thing monday morning. I have a spine surgeon who is good,but they wont help with pain mgt uless they do surgery for you, pluse i need a second opinion. My surgeon wants to fuse my neck and my lower back.

I wanted to apologize to everyone. The other day I was in a lot of pain and I was going crazy and it wasnt right to vent here. I figured everyone would totally get where I was coming from, since we are all in pain. I was wondering if that guy who called us junkues was talking to me? I read the comments and it was after my post. Anyways Im sorry. While I have your attention I was hoping someone has gad the same pain I am in now and couldsuggest what to do. It started with a sore throat, 4 days ago I got a headache (Still have it, now it is severe), my left side of my face is red and swollen, I feel like me left eye is going to explide. My left ear hurts, and now my teeth hurt. Today my left side of myneck hurts. Its driving me crazy.

Nicki don't let them operate on your back unless you absolutely cannot stand it! I know you are having problems, I've been reading your posts, but you will not stop with one back surgery. Once you build up scar tissue you will be having another surgery and another and another. I was a medical assistant for an orthopedic surgeon before I became disabled and I know too much about the failure rate of surgeries. There is no guarantee you will be any better off pain wise than what you are right now. I have 5 herniated discs in my back and neck and you could not pay me enough money to have surgery. I would rather deal with the pain I have than to do something that will ultimately make me worse.

Rainbow I am kind of keeping Rocky Mtn. as a backup if CPR for some reason stops helping me. Do you think with reading my original post that the doc your husband goes to would be alright with prescribing heavy meds like that to a nearly 24 year old?

I dnt think it wld be a issue but u cld always call and ask cuz every dr us different I do no kaiser gives ppl tha pain meds ur on cuz they wanted me on morphine but I cant take it or methadone I get a bad allergic reaction but call 1st

No Mac, their policy on the wall is no methadone. Two the highest mg you can get now is 20. Sorry to bud in but I'm going thru this with them now.

Is cpr not writing the meds you need ? Plz tell me before I waste my rent money. Medicade sent me 200 doctors that except medicade. If anyone wants the list just ask.

Wendy I would love that list off pain doctors that accept Medicaid. Based on a recent post I'm going to check it out comprehensive sign Center in love tree. Alright currently go to CPR but it makes me nervous that I have seen 3 different people in 5 months. I feel like I have to tell my long and ugly story of 14 years of miserable chronic migraine and spinal stenosis. So far they have kept me on my medication regimen but I actually I'm not getting enough because my pain is at a six most of the time. When I was getting 7 oxy IR and 3 100 milligram morphine extended release my pain level was at 82 most of the time. Currently I'm still on the morphine but only 4 oxy IR and its not cutting it. I am currently unemployed and I can't even look for work because on this regimen I spend too much time in bed. I just became a grandmother a year agoand I want to feel well enough to spend as much time with him and care for him as possible. Wendy thanks for the wonderful offer of help. it's ridiculous that I have gone to about each different pain management centers in the past year and a half. I don't doctor shop I'm open with each and every one of them and it has not been a problem. This is my life on the line and I won't stop until I can find a compassionate educated pain doctor. This form thanks again Matt has given me more information than anywhere else. I appreciate all of you taking your time to provide input.god bless and Godspeed.

Cindy, thanks. I have been pushing the neck surgery off for 3 years. My sister had it done and her pain is worse now then b4. It didnt fuze. Im scared thats going to happen to me.

What clinic is Rocky Mtn and where is it located? Do they take insurance? I just am not happy with CPR...haven't been seeing the same doctor either. When I get a prescription filled it's been a new dr every month so I'm afraid it will look like I'm dr shopping.

I am so depressed.

We need to start a way to keep in touch....I feel like nobody ever sees my questions lol :(
