Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 39)

Updated

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

In case you can't tell, politically, I'm an Anarchist. :o)

What is messed up is they still try to say pain meds are killing more than any other drug and I laugh cause they are wrong but mad because its wrong info and that is why docs and people think the way they do. But all in all we need to stick together and be supportive cause we don't have a lot of people who do support us.

No anarchist for me. Because we need law and order otherwise anyone can do whatever they want. But we need a SERIOUS overhaul of the system. But I agree Tamm, we NEED to stick together. We should try to start groups in every state that push for intractable pain patients' rights'.

We need just enough government to enforce basic "ten commandments" like law...simple. Don't harm others. If you steal from me or do me "injury", you must repay. The county Sheriff and a handful of officers should be sufficient for 99% of it. The counry Sheriff is an elected official, representing the people where he lives. I am a Market Anarchist... in that interraction between people needs to be mutual agreement...never by force. We need just enough "government" to keep force from being used...but then, government is itself force...so it must be kept minimal. An Anarchist by philosophy, but Libertarian for practical reasons.

Bob I don't necessarily frustrated but there are better things for us to do than CONSTANTLY answering the same question when if they would take 45 minutes to read through (maybe not even that) when they can do that instead of the same question showing up on my email asking the exact same question that they could find a half hour if they would a half hour and read. If their condition is really bad then it would be faster to not have to wait for a response, but to just read through the thread, I just get a little frustrated when people won't take the time to read but they just want to ask a question and have the answer dumped in their laps when the answers have been said probably every 60 posts.

Hey mac did I ever tell you my brother overdose on percocet cuz he dr kept givin it and givin it after my brother broke his arm? I always agree with you. I wish we would of put my brother inrehab.....He was the youngest and my mom adored him. He would tell her he was off and would make her believe it if he needed money she would give it. He knew how 2 fool people until the day me and my mom walk in his room it was horrible my mom just broke me 2. This is why I take this serioudly I may not be able 2 express it like u do and no all the medical stuff or even explain like u do wen I just my words just get jumbled I cant think al cuz wen I try I just see my brother layin there lookin like he sleep. But I wish ppl who use them 2 feel high wld stop it took me a lng time 3 fine my dr and now I can be normal and be wit my kids and try 2 do normal things

I searched for pain management Drs in the Englewood/Aurora area and did come up with some. Most wanted a referal from a general practitioner, but there was one who would take a new patient directly. His initial visit was going to be $350 with subsequent visits $125...of course then there was the price of the meds too...

I filled my scrips again with my Dr in my home State, so I don't need to worry about it for another month.

I also found a local GP who will prescribe what I need, so when my Dr in the next State won't fill it anymore, I have a local plan to continue. I don't really need a "pain management" specialist. This is one of the benefits of being al old geezer...a GP is less likely to be super strict on pain meds... :o)

Mac, I know you are frustrated and try to remember two things, first off these guys are as frustrated and upset as we were when you started this thread. They, like us have probably read pages and pages looking for the same answers we were looking for. Additionally, who expected this thread to reach as many folks that it has? You have helped tons of people. That's a good thing and although many don't want to figure out a way to not make us seem like drug seeking, addicts and not make getting help so difficult, so will and one of these folks may come up with the answer we are all looking for. I dont believe in starting this thread, you would have ever realized just how many people are in the very same position. During my last admission, some nurse made a comment that all I was doing was taking legal H and that years ago we didn't have this option. After a long discussion on the use of coke in cola and other meds used for years and what my disability s done to me, she changed her mind. The bottom line is when medical people are also having misinformation shoved down their throats, there is a BIG issue. We all know many misuse these drugs, what's unfortunate is we are being grouped with these people and the issue is pain is subjective. They don't see in tears because we can't sleep, they don't see us not being able to shower because it hurts so bad, let alone try to work or go to school. Perhaps one of us should just post frequently the guys we recommend but also encourage that addressing this issue is by far the best answer to what we are all facing. I know you are frustrated and didn't expect to be everyone's answer when you wrote that thread but you and Tammy should pat yourselves on your backs because you have helped many. Hang in there buddy, I'll try to help out more but I have some medical issues that keep putting me back in the hospital but I will help as much as I can. Hang in there!

cjK ON wALGREENS. I DEALT WITH THEM IN tAMPA 2007 THEY GAVE MY 120 SCRIPT OF OXY 30 TO SOMEONE ELSE EVEN BILLED INSURANCE I ASK.ED FOR THE MANAGAER MADE A POLICE REPOSRT DETC ETC.. (OOPS ON CAPS) I asked for the tape in which this pick up shpuld have been made..The tape was never found!! My experience wiith walgreens in MT hmm.. not bad. The walgreens on Denver/aurora area havent' been so terrible. I swore after being screwed in FL I would never deal with them. well they are the only 24 hours, they are on every corner where i'm at its King Soopers (scared to death, they had a hefty death legal suit) CVS/Rite Aid but it's crazy. Also my new LLC pharm which id great AWESOME THE dea AND ITS Affiliates went there and stopped them from waiving co-pays they waved copays and offer a drink the dea SHUT IT DOWN saying it wasn't fair they also deliver and whatever area you re in id go to a privately owned I think otherwise called a mom & pops pharmacy. Pharm owner -coowner says it not just the DEA but even something that oversees them so the DEA has ppl on their back_ also patients that have been at the same pharmacy for years-they get the inventory first (IMO) so your post wasn't in vain!!

Well I really am not frustrated. I just feel like if you find a post that obviously has good info because it has hundreds of posts I just feel that not looking thru it on their own is just kind of a little bit of laziness. But if people want to keep asking right off the bat without reading any of the thread then that's something I just want to not say. I'm very thankful that I was helped by Tammy and that I have been able to help others but it's to the point where the more I say my doctor or pain center's name, they've gotten FAR more strict and have been discharging more people.

I agree with mac its not hard to go to the bottom of the page and go straight to the 1st page and BAM! Doctor's info...... don't want to be mean but its probably on each page at least once.

See that's what I'm saying. If you go to the first page you have the answer that I was given, not to mention others that I didn't post. The person looking can immediately find about 3 Dr offices faster than a response from us. It's not hard to do. I still try to help, and I feel that helping them is them reading thru what has already been posted. BTW, Thanks for the backup Tam.

Mac, all I was saying was you guys have done a great service to many and I'm sure you didn't expect such a big response to your thread. Nothing but praise. Sorry if it was taken any different.
