Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 248)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

I have Kaiser as well and I'm suffering from injuries from 20 years ago. I was in pain management for 20 years and I am no longer allowed any pain pills, even if it's one a day because I consume marijuana. I don't know what to do. It is very difficult to function. Do you have any advice for me?

Please...I just can't stand being treated like a junkie....when I am told to bring in old Rx bottles and am sitting in my wheelchair obviously paralyzed due to size and shape of legs, posture and no stomach muscles and my hip bone (femoral-head) protruding out. And told before even reading the five page detailed questioner, "we can't help you.." and all I want is a nerve block in my back and a nerve ablation in my hip...no, you are on too high of medication, and I reply I will go down if I can get some pain relief with the blocks..from 1998-2013 I could call radiology at BCH and get a spinal nerve block within a week...I have never been treated as bad as I was at Colorado Clinic, saw Creekside also, but they told me they just work on necks and headaches...I liked Comprehensive pain and was happy there and pain was tolerable...but my sister got in the Dr.'s face and made a scene and they discharged me....I told them not to let her come back because she is such a Nazi towards Dr.'s that prescribe opioids (we are opposites) I told them she would never be there again and not involved in my life..it was just a logistical/driving needed a ride to my appointment...so now they kicked me out and won't take me back, and then my Dr. in Gunnison decided my case was too complex for him and discharged me.....to get to the point..the Dr.'s have a print out from a national data base of the prescriptions you get and who wrote them, so it looks bad for me, like lots of different Dr.'s....All I want is a nerve block for my lower lumbar spinal pain and some procedure for my hip...then to top it off the hospital that did the MRI which shows my femoural head completely out are calling saying I owe 3000 dollars because Medicaid won't pay..The system is *****...I want to give up. I will not live my life in this much pain, now I wish marijuana helped, but I hate it and it makes my pain and mental state worse...Does anybody know of a Dr. that does not judge you and put you in with junkies, when it is obvious I am in pain and the MRI shows it??

BJC, my goodness, i understand not wanting to live with the injuries, but i wanted to thank u for sharing, and send God speed prayers for strength. There are many petitions we can all sign and some reporters ask for stories like yours. They are trying to cut production of 25% of opioids in 2017.

I'm doing well now CECe thank you .My doctor truly a blessing it's my old one I had for 10 years .He moved to another office and took classes on pain management.He works closely with the dea to follow protocol.Those three years I was at CPR my health went to crap my bp was through the roof now my pain under control I can finally live life .How are you doing?

FYI, for all of dr lincolns patients, please be aware there is a red light camera at 6th and lincoln, if u don't stop before making a right turn on that dogleg, the fine is $40, I would love to fight it but... court costs are more, another sublte tax and war on pain patients... I think I will do what my mom did once, she said I am a senor on ssd and can only pay 5 a month.

Is trump againat mmj, looks like there is a campaign on here in co and especially mountains to write the congressmen asap to protect the voters wishes. I don't use but thought everyone should know

Chaos, don't think it was me. I have my service dog usually. Denver has grown so much since I left decades ago, when I come down, I do a lot of shopping, driving around. See my earlier posts for where and when, maybe lunch near u. I usually hit tj maxx, tuesday morning, windsor gardens and this time ikea, speer is my way in and out, gotta be near u if u are in arvada. Is there a spot near u that is good, I could help with driving once we meet.

I have gotten several of the camera tickets, and have learned that after the first letter or two, they stop and have never gotten a warrant. The payment doesn't even go directly to the state or city, you send it to some company in another state. From what i see this is a big scam and constitutional right violation, i am not sure if these ever hold up in court. I do know several states have banned the use of these cameras. Anyone ever not paid one and actually got a warrant from it? For example if a friend borrows your car and gets a ticket in it, the ticket will be issued to them, not the cars owner. So, i don't really see how they can actually prove who was driving and seems fishy to me. I am thinking this is a big scam and they count on people just giving in, not questioning it and just pay it. I have never felt they are fair and simply refused to pay them (several), nothing ever became of them. Have gotten pulled over and no warrants came up. I am not recommending not paying it, but i would seriously think it over and look into this before wasting your money. Anyone have any input on the issue?

I would love to switch to sumware so me and my husband can go Wendy I'm down town denver, I'd love to go to your doc. I hate having to go in 2/3 times a month it suck the cold on my bones hurts to be getting on bus and it's to much but can we meet after the 1st I'm going to stop seeing my doc asap let me kno place and time just tired of BEING judged by him

Avalanche, hang in there. This doc knows the ins/outs of pain mgmt. You won't be worked over. He'll help you back to a comfortable manageable state in life so you can work and enjoy life. In other words he gives you your quality of life back.

I'm so tired. I'm just working so hard now since my doc asked me if I'm seeing another doc. I told him you make me come in every Monday to get 30 of my break through pain meds and it's costing me 15$ a can back and forth. So today he gave me 2 weeks worth of meds. I'm so pissed because who has time to keep going in and then the look you get at the pharmacy, it's crazy. I'm sick as ever of pleasing him like he likes to make me struggle for my meds or beg him, smh. I'm stressed out and I'm in so much pain it's not funny. I copay 60$ for my meds a month. He breaks it down and I pay 10$ for each time I go in, then keep getting played like a fiddle. He's just mean to me and doesn't look into my chronic pain. I'm depressed and so mad rite now I could cry.

I'm just tired of this do this and that like play with my meds and give a me a week or 2. I'm so mad. I'm sorry y'all, my doctor is making me feel like I'm begging for my meds. I'd rather them just give me enuff for a month. So pissed I'm in tears. How could he do this to me? I'm in tears and just thinking out ""venting"".

Cpr is back to having a few doctors in and I'm so happy to be back.. I know a lot of you talked/talk a lot of s*** about them but I'm glad to be back. They have helped me so much and are always helpful. Funny thing is nobody was talking s*** when you were there.. I guarantee you will be calling begging to get back in at some point.

Avalanche, I agree but may just suck it up. Mainly warning everyone else that this is at the corner of a favorite pain doc. To fight it, costs more than the ticket. We are no longer innocent until proven guilty.

I have heard of doctors who's patients have had their medications stolen MORE THAN ONCE, only writing partial scripts. It is to help you and them.

It is not their (CPR'S) fault in any way that this happened? Per state law, if a patient makes allegations against a Dr., any Dr., they first suspend the doctor, without pay. Then they launch an investigation with the district attorney and medical board. The DA has dismissed the charges, but the medical board wants to do their own investigation, money motivated. The patient that caused all the problems had coke and marijuana in their urine and they were dismissed. They were pissed and so that person ruined hundreds of lives.

Nope I never had nothing like that done to me. I told him why do I have to have my meds like this and he said well if you go to another doctor he will be able to help. I'm like I'd never dinner dip, you can go to jail like. I'm not that dumb. I'm in pain why would I threaten to see a different doctor if he kept his attitude up. Then he said well are you ok with the med? I said well you only gave me enuff for a week. He said we're ok and then said to call ahead of time when you are going to run out. So i do and he puts in my chart I call too early to refill. I never catch a break. I'm tired of begging him to refill my meds, so tired.
