Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 249)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

i posted a link to sign the petition of gov. cutting opioid production by 25% in 2017, i was able to google it , if u google it, there are other important petitions to sign, the one about cdc wanting to drop to 120 mg equivalent. This is how we can be heard.

Camera tickets get paid to the management company and they fwd it to the city. If not paid....they will send a few letters. No reply.....they report it to the drivers license and registration Dept. They will refuse renewing that vehicles tags and your driver's license until paid. This is how it works in both Colorado and Washington......I just went through this BS in September!!

Janedoe, im in aurora, and it costs 10-15$ to take a lyft. I usually put aside 25$ for transportation. Like i use the bus one way and lyft/uber the other way, but the 25$ increase for appointment sends me to save $ elsewhere. I use coupons for food, just about anything to save $....peace and blessings to you dear!

Chaos and anyone that this may help;
Remember if your medical costs, transportation costs etc go up, please call your case worker if you are on one of these programs, it can affect your food stamp allocation , Medicaid premiums... Sometimes you will need to educate your caseworker. If you are disabled, you are allowed a greater rent deduction, medical transportation costs, medical costs, even things like your service dogs vet care and food. It has to be valid but it helps and darn it, we have paid into the system so don't feel bad about asking for help, especially if it's just you!

janedoe you r correct. There are so many resources.i hold sec.8 voucher and they counted the 150.00 a month for dr. appt. from what i know. i just moved a week ago so i need to check and make sure housing is giving me credit for this. i did find out if u have Medicaid u van get transportation,but i have to print a form and have each different specialist sign it for example if im going to PT they have to fill n sign the paperwork. i will have himana on dec.1 so idk if the type od Medicaid i have will cober transportation. i do get ssi anf ssdi, i have 2 cats and would nt you KNOW i hafta pay pet rent. im wondering if i find a psych, to verify that they are pet therapy so i wont get charged i paid 300 pet deposit thats non refundable. idk what id do without my cats, they ve kept me from taking myself out 5 yrs ago when i went 2 yrs with no meds.
so i have to access these resources. it been 4 days that ive had my bed and i have just been sleeping. im wondering why? moving physically has worn me out. i had to make myself get up. its just me and my 15 yr. old, he has his own life and friends. am i depressed? i miss my 18 yr old daughter shes in F.l and i cry everyday.
thanks im just venting. i also miss my Chihuahua i had to give to my aint because you can only have 2 animals. my kids are all slowly leaving the nest. i dont have no friends im anti social have anxiety....well all is on Gods hands as long as i take thst first step ill be ok. im very fortunate to have housing. with my 750 a month income i couldn't rent anything.

Be strong , i know my son is also at that stage, did u look at leap for eletrical bills, make sure u are getting credit on food stamps as well. Any doc or nurse or counselor can write for emotional support animal ... i do paratransit and that helps with drives. Also food pantry every bit helps

I want to help you, but when you say "you feel judged by your age" how old are you and how old do you look??.I have a problem because I am 50 and I look like I am in my 30's so people assume I am in my 20's and look older like 30's because of pain, so I get put in the group of abusers because I was PUT ON fentanyl, don't docters get it..it takes a Dr. to put you on it in the first place and get your blood use to it, I do not crave it.. I crave pain reliefe..

Yes, If you get your cats registered as therapy animals, you DO NOT have to pay the EXTRA rent on them. It is not difficult, talk to your psychological help dept. As for CPR and the questions I asked, I have not been back yet, but a close friend of mine has and he said that happened to him. Thank you all, have a great holiday weekend

----SMALLS------ I & others have been to CPR. They're doing pill counts between appts. But I didn't get my stuff changed. But 2 friends did get scripts changed and amounts. Hope I've helped answer your question. If not I will keep checking forum.

Wendy, are you seeing dr. A.H.? I am going in tomorrow. I just want to know what to expect. I have done everything right according to my old pain doctor who I am no longer seeing. I destroyed any old medication I had and only kept enough for tomorrow so I can be okay until my appointment. Although a slightly higher dose than what I've been on recently (but WAY less than what I was on 5 years ago) would help the most, I am happy to stick to my 120-160mg daily, but prefer it be the cheaper medication (roxi instead of contin) I don't know if dr. A.H. has a specific rule about what he will and won't prescribe (I'm not looking for anything new, only things I've had and work)
And if you or anyone else sees him still, can he look up my most recent CT Scan? I haven't been able to go over it with a doctor yet since my latest one.

RandyCos, he cant pull up scans but will have the front desk have u sign for a written copy to be faxed over. Just make sure u have an address and phone no. for the place u got scans. You will b happy with this provider. I go to this place too, not only that but this was my provider from 2012-2014.

Hi, Sorry to hear about anyones chronic pain issues. I can't imagine getting sick off norcos but demerol doesn't bother you. Well, a great and cheap pain med could be methadone. It works well and dosnt have to many side effects. It can however cause heart abnormal heart rate called long q-t wave issues. Its worth looking into. Hope this might help someone. I have back, neck, leg, hip, and shoulder issues. Many many joint replacements. It's just too frustrating finding care unless you're crawling accross the floor. Ha

FYI most pain drs wont prescribe benzos and opiates in the same breath. Taking benzos and then stopping is dangerous even if you're on a small dose. Most w/d effects can show up in as little as two days to as long as 7 or more. Seizures are the main concern of w/d. benzos also can have lasting effects on brain wave patterns and psychological effects lasting years. Taking the combo is very dangerous. Dont get started on any benzos.

Mickey is 100% correct about Long QT syndrome, it can be a side effect of methadone. It landed me in ICU about eight yrs ago. No warning after two years on methadone I started passing out. Did not know how serious until I went to the e.r. and was admitted to ICU for days. Most docs treat you like scum on methadone and I was horrified. The doc that discovered the connection between long QT and methadone works - or at least he used to - at Denver Health. Really super nice doctor, he was a heart doc. I went to him for a consult before dental surgery about six yrs ago. Could locate his name if anyone needs it. Methadone worked great for me but I cannot take it now because of long qt syndrome!! Real problems in Colorado as Gov Chicken looper signed some bill to reduce pain meds in Colorado. He says he wants to make Colorado healthy. What the hell does he know and he has no right butting into my healthcare as long as I am not doing anything illegal!! Something has to change or people are going to start getting meds off the street. If one searches other countries policy's regarding opiates most are moving in the opposite direction as the good old USA!!! Good luck. I am having difficulties with my dr and I have been using him for close to 30 years now. Only last 10 - 12 yrs on pain meds. I have only had my dose increased one time in the last 10 years!! Now with all the b.s. I have gone from approximately 300mgs to 120mgs a day!! My dr is running scared with all the threats and he is not a pill pusher and never has been!! The docs that refuse to help chronic pain patients are crucifying the few docs still willing to help with opiates. Not sure what I will do for help!? Good luck to all in pain in Colorado.

HEY Y'ALL....I'M SORRY. ..IT'S BEEN AWHILE ...I'VE BEEN BUSY WITH WORK AND THE HOLIDAYS. I'M STILL BEING SEEN BY DR SHAWN AND THINGS ARE GOING GREAT. THE PA'S ARE AMAZING AND CARING. MY APPOINTMENTS ARE NOT FOR 5 MINUTES AND JUST TO WRITE A SCRIPT. THEY ACTUALLY EXAMINE YOU AND CARRY A CONVERSATION. I WOULDN'T TRADE THEM FOR ANYTHING. I AM VERY HAPPY WHERE I'M AT. THEY SENT ME FOR NEW XRAYS AND MRI'S.....I HOPE THAT EVERYONE IS DOING FINE AND IN A BETTER PLACE ADD FAR AS PAIN GOES.....
