Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 242)

Updated

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

I attended Lincoln St today, and I had a good experience. It is expensive, and I wish that they accepted my insurance. (The monthly cost is going up $25 too.) The MD was great and the remainder of the staff was pretty friendly too. I have been off of meds for a couple of months, so I wasn't put back on the highest previous dose. He did increase my muscle relaxer though. I hope to work with him to find a sweet spot of meds so that I can return to my normal life. He's not a candyman and they're not running a pill mill, but if you have a legit need and are looking for a good MD, I think it's a good place. I'm hoping to increase my dosage as needed as time passes, but I'm off to a decent start.

Last exit, this guy has worked with me since 2012, my ER wears off at 8-10 hours, but it works, he offered Oxycontin, I didn't want to switch from something that's working, and the oxy ER
r may be hard to find pharmacy wise, so i asked to be written every 8 hours. I haven't felt the need for increase since then, but as long as it's not some outrageous amount of meds he s always worked with me. But my IR he would not change. Just wouldn't. We added something's, changed the ER, but I can get down to a 4on pain scale that's the best I can get down to, not saying all days are like that but I feel taken care of by him...period....

WENDY - Thank you for the help. I have Medicaid so that Dr would save me money I don't have. I can't afford to go to some of these other doctors that are cash only and having all sorts of expensive fees. I work hours that are always all over the place. So I'm going to commit a day to meeting you and hopefully I can get seen that day too. If not I will go any day that's available. I'm just tired of being in constant pain. It has made my life a struggle physically and emotionally. THANK YOU SO MUCH WENDY!!!

Typo, I asked to prescribed the ER that I was on every 8 hours, because it was working I declined the Oxy ER, I've heard stories of insurance coverage. Their insurance only covered 60 pills, on top of having to have it ordered in.
The word prediction on this device I have is very touchy, so again I apologize to CeCe i6 again,
I also want to know how Tammy, Janeygirl,Rainbow Flowers, how are you? Original Wendy knows Tammy .

Lucy in reference to how the Smiths had to close is sad, I bet the doc really gave a lot of ppl benefit of doubt. But regarding passing drug panels, if they failed patients that used mmj, then that's a whole different number or statistic. I bet as a doc he was helping real sufferers and had his hands tied. Yep I can totally understand if he was disappointed.

Yes Wendy I really do for my X. I've reached the point I'm scared for his life. I'm not talking quality of life which is non existent now for him. I mean his body will give way, I can feel it and see it. I'll meet you anywhere, anytime, just say when/where. Update, had him in to the hematologist today to ck on the clot in his leg. His BP was 130 over (I can't remember) and his pulse was 100bpm! His inr level was 5.1 which is supposed to be between 2-3. That means his blood is really thin. Thin blood is good from the view of not forming clots but not good for obvious reasons when a person has a giant blood clot that his body has worked on absorbing for the passed 18 months. She sent us immediately for a sonogram on his leg. Took care of that and was not sent to the hospital. I was shocked over that. She had no pm referral which I find shocking considering her field. She said vendors though they have a lot of cancer patients they "offer" pain meds to, the majority don't take them. It was clear to me she minced her wordson. I told her I found that shocking. I watched my own father battle pancreatic cancer and as strong as he was, he was crying for his medication. In fact, we had to be careful with it the last 6 months of his life. I don't what her goal was but that's contrary to what I've experienced n life. Now, if not for Wendy, I'm at a loss as to what to do for him folks. The DEA came in and seized his doctors files on his patients (his doc will write referral n consult with any doc that we can find however, we can only get records from his back surgery is 2012 and hospital stay for clot last year and the endless imaging on his broken back and leg now. I just can't believe there's not a doc in CO that hasn't brokered with the state on what to offer medicaid patients. Perhaps I've reached the point of dire circumstances. I know my X will not make it with no medication. His body will give out and will power has zero to do with it.

Anyone try calling cpr today? Everyone I called, the answering machine picked up and promptly hung up after I selected cpr. I tried option 2 and the same thing happened. When I was in college I worked as a hotel operator. There were times I had 10 lines ringing at once and I managed to catch everyone by the 4th ring. When a biz can't pick up the dam phone day after day ppl get the msg and respond accordingly. It sends the message they are not capable of managing the business when they're not prepared for various potential problems such as the loss of or the practices sole doctor. But what the real death blow is the blatant incompetent manner in how they've responded to the situation and their patients. To say they are negligent to patients is an understatement. This is a travesty! There is no reason and NO EXCUSE for not in picking up a phone or a business! I apologize folks but I'm fired up today about this. I don't give a rats ass how hard someone is "trying" to return calls to patients etc... that's not what my experience. I wasn't called the day of my appt 9/20 or since then. I think within that time if someone had half a mind and liked having a dam job that they call all the patients back within 30 F'n days!!! They were less than part to start and now the "I don't give a flip" attitude should be as plain as the nose on one's face. I'm sick of seeing how ppl are such great "friends" with Amanda. Yeah? Well, GF did you get a call back from her ever...since the loss of the doc? Pssh, pitiful excuse of a professional environment, much less a DOCTOR'S office!!! Doctor's office used to mean the hippocratic oath of every doctor meant something. One could identify the caring nature of the medical professional from the receptionist to the doctor. My apologies to all for my rant here. I'm so worked up and frustrated. I'm darn glad I did not have time to run to cpr to see them in person b/c that's what I wanted to do. I think today would've been the day I could fly up someone's ass for any BS. I mean just fed up. Frankly, Wendy's possible lead is the only one that's hopeful after calling over 30 docs in Colorado. God bless every one of you and your families. I truly hope you all are fairing better than I. BTW, called Dex for my X. He quoted me 6 bills (last Monday) when I called for my X. I explained the situation with the doc/dea debacle and he basically said good luck and he couldn't help my X. He's cashing in on the current climateconomic. I'm glad those are taken care of that's see him but that gets my goat that a DOC does that. In fact, that's the type I don't want around my family. No integrity and he's forgotten why he became a doc unless money was his only motivation. Time to close. I'm way to prickly and shouldn't be lashing out anymore. Good luck everyone. For those having a real b**** of a time, know that it will get better. Try to do whatever you can to get through it but know you will get through it.

lastexit: Yes, your doctor is good. Just an fyi: be prepared to also pay a lab bill every time you drop a ua. The laboratory bills insurance, but for most, it is out of network. That means you will have a balance due there.

Jessy,
Don't know if this would work for you or not, but I am driving down to Denver on November 8th, u r welcome to come along.
For everyone else, I tried the lyrica as well, slept for ever, didn't hurt BC I was always asleep, not really a way to go thru life. Hear it works well for nerve pain if it doesn't knock you out!

Wendy, I like the doc I am seeing but maybe later this winter, I can see yr doc. Does he or she requir monthly visits? For those of us driving long distanc, it would be nice to just come every other month or so..
Thanks all, hope all have a pain free or lower pain day!

CPR should be back to making appointments by Nov. 15th!
If any of you want to stay with them, just hang on a little while longer.
I know that we are all in a great of pain and discomfort, but they were good to us for so long that it just seems like a shame to throw it all away. Especially since it was through no fault of their own.
They follow the rules and when you break the rules there are consequences. Dirty UA = being fired. No excuses, so whoever destroyed our lives by LYING to the medical board, could now be going to one of these new Dr.'s. that everyone is suggesting. Who's to say this person won't do it to the new Dr? The only Dr. who is going to be 100% safe from that person is CPR!

Good morning folks, I have a couple posts I shot off yesterday, under review. Just as well, yesterday was the day I hit the wall attempting to find a pm for my X. His blood pressure was 130 over I can't remember with 100bpm. He's never been that high. She squeezed his leg and he nearly screamed. I'll be there at 11 today. Thank God, this is the only viable option I've seen after 2wks of calling nearly every doctor listed. Thank you so mych!

Jessy, it's a tough call. I like Hong on Lincoln St b/c you're getting a real doctor that does a real exam and actually is interested in the root cause and how to get better. I was pleasantly surprised with him. Another option is Wendy's doc. I really like that option b/c it saves 2bills a month. Everyone can u send that. Let us know what you decide and good lucky honey
