My pain management doc got investigated and now hes closed his practice down. I was getting 30mg oxycodone 5 times a day and morphine 15mg 2 times a day. Does anybody know a doctor in huntsville alabama that will keep me on my meds, need answer ASAP!

I feel so badly for you, your husband, myself and others that suffer with CHRONIC PAIN. I am on disability and suffer daily. My parents took in a handicapped 31 year old that has MAJOR HEALTH PROBLEMS and was being abused. The same pain doctor that you said your husband was seeing would not help him either. His mother dropped him on purpose when he was 3 years old and didn't take him to the doctor, now the damage is so severe and he is to weak to go through any operations that medications are the ONLY THING THAT HELPS HIM. I am a Christian and GOD has and still does help him, however, God gives these Pain Doctors knowledge to suppose to help people out but since here in Alabama (especially) some people just don't have a understanding of CHRONIC PAIN or maybe just don't care.then we get penalized. If I could move to another COUNTRY that does care for people with MAJOR PAIN, I certainly would in a minute. I say this because I know of several COUNTRY'S that one of my relatives have moved to and they say that the Pain Doctors really do care and help them out tremendously.

There is a really good clinic in Madison. There are 2 doctors who are really compassionate. You must have a test at each visit And they check the narcotics database every visit. I will not list their name but it is on the HORIZON. It is on hwy 72 next to Hardee's.

Obama has nothing to do with this. The DEA came down hard when so many kids died from abusing Oxycontin and public opinion blamed doctors. Doctors are sitting ducks on this one. You have your pill mills that get rich over writing scrips to addicts. Also it isn't the Feds, it is your state as well. Not very well informed. It has been going on for years and it just impacted you.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHY I SO WISH THAT MEDICAL MARIJUANA WOULD BE LEGALIZED IN ALABAMA. THEY HAVE A PILL FORM NOW THAT HELPS WITHOUT SMOKING. GOOD FOR DEPRESSION, CHRONIC PAIN, ETC....

Your family doctor should give you a script until you find another pain clinic. You can call your insurance for a list of doctors and pain clinics. That's how I found my pain clinic. Been there for 10 years. Hope this helps. Also google pain management clinics in your area but I found the more direct approach was asking my family doc and calling my insurance company. Good luck. Everyone deserves Good Quality of life.

Pleasant Creek you are so right. I myself wish that Alabama would legalize Cannabis. That's just my opinion and for ME I know it would work. However, since it is not legal then I have no other option but to go to a Pain Doctor due to my Health Issues. I know how CHRONIC PAIN affects people because I am in chronic pain myself. People that have never had any injuries have no idea how badly we suffer.

If youre still in the military you cannot go to an outside physician for pain pills...it is against military policy...especially as you go through an MEB...that is if you are on active orders. If not then message me at {edited for privacy}. And I will tell you who mine is and the lowdown about him.

If worse comes to worse, go to a methadone clinic. Every city has one. They will treat any opiate addiction not just H. It will give you time to find a good doc.

I doubt it hon. I went to him about 4 years ago and had a very unpleasant experience. Seems in my opinion he didn't care for his patients pain/anxiety.
