Doctors Who Prescribe Pain Killers In Philadelphia (Page 52)

Hi,

My current doctor has decided that it would be best to stop my monthly prescription for 30mg percocets. I have chronic back pain from skiing injuries and other sports related problems. I have never abused or taken more than was suggested. I never got "high" and was always able to work and interact with clients in a positive way. Now without the medication, the pain is becoming a distraction. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't scared to prescribe common pain killers. They are produced for a reason, but recent uptake in illegal abuse has made doctors uneasy with long term prescriptions? I live in the Philadelphia area (main line) but I am familiar with the greater Philadelphia metro area. Thank you and kind regards.

Much appreciated..i have 2 others too also but cant get my medical records..its crazy..im trying to call dea and they dont care..i may get a lawyer if possible..hard to belueve when they are MY medical records..they could send copies even but they dont care

I've been reading a few posts particularly the post about the DEA seizing medical records. This is just a thought but maybe you should contact the media about this and see if they can help you get your records back.

Hi flash, here's another one. They don't take my insurance or cash. Independence in holy Redeemer. You have to have pharmacy records and hospital records, etc, pass urine and they have the wonderful computer system as well. They're excellent too there.

You may have a problem there is some in northeast Philadelphia that takes cash I think either on blvd or off cottman ave get on your phone and type in .then call and ask .they take no insurance for some odd reason.but before you go I would ask them and tell them what you take and bring pharmacy records n hospital records.

Is there any way you could help me find a pain dr, I'm all messed up can't walk and my dr died and I had to move, I'm a nurse and inwasnhit by a semi truck and I'm only on one medication of oxycodone 30mg 4 x a day

I am trying to find a dr that can prescribe me the meds I have been on for years. I have had 4 back surgeries, 3 neck surgeries, 2 in one arm and shoulder replacement. I don't sleep at night with these excruciating pains; especially the one in my back because it's limiting my walking and I keep falling because as I try to stand on my feet it's like a nerve shoots up and I fall to the ground. Since like 2008 I have been on oxycodone and MS Contin and I have been able to live my life with pain under control but now Drs want to remove the med. I am 62 yrs old, how much more do I have to live. Why live in pain if I was fine? And I live with my 10 yr old granddaughter. She doesn't want to see me cry in pain because I can't find a doctor right away to help me.

Hello...were you able to find dr.on cottman? I've had EXTENSIVE surgery on my ankle and will not be able to walk till the spring...still see my surgeon for now...vut know getting pain meds down the line is frowned upon.

Nothing at all..he screwed us i think because 1 secretary that answered phone asked for name and dob..she put it in computer and said sorry he wont accept u..i asked y and she said its because of the high dose of meds..once u givem ur info it all pops up in computer..no one wants to deal with all that n i dont blame them..its high risk..i mean if i knew this then i would hav told him i dont want that much m's..but how do u say no to a dr..idk but it looks really bad..and that guy that didnt show did call and say he wasnt interested because he was new and didnt want to practice that type of field..i gave up calling there because this will be goin on for a loooong time and the name if dr he gave me to call wasnt accepting anyone..ill update if i hear anything and hope u guys will to..GL

Omfg.. I know my husband has been trying to find a new Dr and nothing either.. this is bulls*** even if someone takes you guys and just weans you guys down enough to whatever they are comfortable with giving it's ****ing nuts. He had stretched his mess enough because he found out like Sept 19th. So he made his s*** stretch as long as possible. He was supposed to have enough to last till the 12th of Oct.. But he was only taking itty-bitts to conserve.. But still going threw wds because he's used to taking a high dose of methadone. And not only that but suffering in pain from injuries... I just don't know what to do.. exhausted all options. The only thing left to do is call a family Dr and see if he will help.

Doctors are no longer prescribing opiates for more than a week at a time do to regulations. Sorry I know people are in pain but give it to god. Motrin helps.
