Hi,
My current doctor has decided that it would be best to stop my monthly prescription for 30mg percocets. I have chronic back pain from skiing injuries and other sports related problems. I have never abused or taken more than was suggested. I never got "high" and was always able to work and interact with clients in a positive way. Now without the medication, the pain is becoming a distraction. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't scared to prescribe common pain killers. They are produced for a reason, but recent uptake in illegal abuse has made doctors uneasy with long term prescriptions? I live in the Philadelphia area (main line) but I am familiar with the greater Philadelphia metro area. Thank you and kind regards.

Hi Ken im experiencing the same thing I feel like I don't want to be here anymore because I can't get no help with my well documented pain issue but there is a dr in Phila pa on 13th & spruce st dr lance yarus. He doesn't except my insurance anymore and he's extremely expensive but maybe he'll except your insurance or you might be able to afford him. I hope this helps you!

I am in the same situation. I have been going to pain management docs since my back surgery. I have degenerative joint disease which has cause spinal stenosis, both my knees had to be replaced and now my hip needs replacement. My condition will continue to worsen as there is no cure for what I have. I have endured at least 10 spinal injections, multiple orthoscopic surgeris, physical therapy and was just told my right hip has to be replaced. My current pain doctor is a jerk. He has always been moody and mean but after I told him my hip had to be replaced and after telling him for 2 years that the meds I was taking were no longer working-He Decided to DECREASE them all. I told him I was ok with that if he has some kind of alternative I could take to help with the excruciating pain I was having,..but he did not so I am now in so much pain, I have been in bed for 3 weeks and cannot even dress myself unless someone helps me because the pain is unbearable. I live in PA and desperately need a doctor who understands the fact that after being on the same dose of medication for years-it stops working. If you know of a doctor, PLEASE please pretty please send me his name. Thank you so much!

Hey south philly, me and u should start some kind of movement because I am also furious that the innocent have to suffer because of the action of worthless losers out there. I too have chronic pain and it's like pulling teeth to get treated properly!!! The Doctors r scared to death to prescribe what the patient needs so he or she could live some kind of normal life!!! Maybe we can put out heads together on this. I'm in a bad spot as well. All the best. {edited for privacy}

Hi antman... Let me first of all thank u for offering to help those u can. It means a lot to many of us to have someone on our side who is willing to at least try to help, given the frigid atmosphere pain management has become. I would appreciate any offer of names and contact information u may be willing to share. {edited for privacy}. Hopefully this works and we can have a mutually beneficial relationship. I am currently speaking with an attorney to start a legal suit against doctors who not only abandon patients but those who "fail to treat, causing HARM", that which they specifically swore NOT to do when they became doctors.

I agree 150% with everyone. I have had over 15 operations on my stomach, had been seeing pain management doc for over 18 years and was doing okay,one day he got in trouble, This doctor is with a Major hospital in Pa. I have now spent 5 months in and out of hospital.Not because of the opioids,but because I had an infection, now I bounce from 1 doc to another.My journey started in the 80's I was young, I do not have any get up and go now.I am so so tired of all doc's.When will Pain Management Doctors, not make people that need there help feel like drug addicts..This is a very sad world we live in.

Hey are u located in Philadelphia pa my husbands doctor prescribed him oxycodone and methadone and two of the doctors patients are making allegations towards the doctor so he is currently shut down for now till the doctor can prove his innocence

Hi can you please keep me in the loop about the lawyer and what I can do to join in the efforts because that's where I'm at because they have taken an oath to first do no harm yet as we see thousands of us are being hurt daily for the few that misuse but we have well medically documented issues and still get treated as drug addicts this is so hurtful!!!
