Is there any way to directly give you her name? I don't really want to put it out on the open chat. I have no problem individually giving her name to people though.

My doctor wants to put me on OxyContin 80 instead of my 2 tabs 4 times a day of oxycodone. I want no parts of OxyContin. I don't abuse or sell my meds and take as directed. The nurse got mad I think because I called Tuesday to give her plenty of time. I know she's busy and they are closed on Saturday, pharmacy closed on Sunday. And it's none of her business that I'm going away for a few days, now I can't. They refused oxycodone. I had to take my script for the time being gives me a non aplicable script. So mad they want to shove s*** down my throat I don't want any part of. Need a new doctor.

Hi there;

I am not from Pennsylvania but I can relate to what you are going through 100%. It also has taken me 10 years to get a combination that would work for my pain. The sad part is that I see more people asking questions on this website then I do people who actually have answers. I am from North Carolina and this is one of the most stringent states around when it comes to prescribing pain medication. Until a month or so ago, I found a doctor who had the balls to prescribe medication that actually worked for my pain which is Dilaudid 4 milligram up to 8 tablets a day if needed. I was also prescribe Tramadol up to 8 tablets a day if needed for breakthrough pain although Tramadol is only a not better than Tylenol and makes me nauseous. I have found it to be impossible to find a doctor that is willing to prescribe 30 milligram Oxycodone that Dilaudid is just as good if not better. I was taking Oxycodone 15 milligram when I started seeing this particular doctor 2 years ago who I now have resentment towards because of the way he just comes up out of the blue want to pull me off of my anxiety medicine without warning although that medicine has been prescribed to me by another doctor. The Oxy 15 milligram had gotten to where it was not working for me when I first started seeing this doctor as it was for tablets a day as needed so I did mention 30 milligram to him causing him to fly off the handle as I made sure not to mention that again to him. You would think that I was asking him to prescribe medicinal marijuana judging from his reaction. I was just simply letting him know that I developed a tolerance so I was open to suggestions but I simply asked his perspective and he let me know that would NEVER they prescribed in his office! I went on Dilaudid then and it has worked for me for two years. I had to push the issue of trying something new because he was going to keep me on the 15 milligram even though I told him it was not working as well. I noticed his temper at that time because he really seem to have a problem with 30 milligram but I did not push that issue but I did want something that would work for me and was glad that he finally was willing to try the Dilaudid which work but now I am in a terrible position just as you are with me finding a new doctor willing to prescribe something that works. I have been taking Klonopin for the entire 2 years that I've been seeing this doctor and he was well aware of it although he was not crazy about the idea but not once did he tell me to stop taking it. He prescribed me the 4 milligram are Dilaudid the whole 2 years and I was on Klonopin from another doctor the entire 2 years so he was aware of the anxiety medication while he was prescribing the same strength of Dilaudid the whole time as well. I was hoping this would have been my last stop on pain doctors because I'm frankly quite sick of the games that these doctors play when it comes to pain management. My last visit to him did not turn out well because the first thing he tells me is that he wants me to go off of the Klonopin and for it not to come up in the drug panel on my next visit which he saw me every 3 months. Seeing the doctor every 3 months was another plus and now I am back on the same journey because of this doctor just coming up out of the blue want me to go off of Klonopin which was prescribed by another doctor. I wasn't shocked because I did not know why this doctor did not say something a year ago if he had that much of a problem with it instead of just coming up expected me to go off of an anxiety medicine that I have been on for 7 years. This doctor did not spend too much time talking to me as a patient or any other patients from what I have found out through his reviews. I did not even get a chance to respond when he told me to go off of the Klonopin and I usually did not care if he gave me a chance to talk because the prescriptions were basically ready every time I went but I was very upset when I left this last doctors appointment. He was asking me to choose between staying on anxiety medicine or having my pain medicine reduced or I was given another option of finding another pain doctor who would give me the pain medicine that worked plus being able to stay on anxiety medicine as well. He did not even give me a chance to try to go off of the Klonopin because I was given a discharge letter in the mail 2 weeks after that appointment. I have a little over a month worth of pain medicine butt right now I'm in a very terrible position because I cannot just go off of Dilaudid after being on it for 2 years and I have to get something for my pain that actually works. It is like finding a needle in a haystack when it comes to trying to find a doctor that understands pain plus is willing to prescribe what actually works for you as a patient. Most of the doctors these days are running Scared from the DEA and it is causing many problems with patients who suffer from chronic pain. Most doctors today in pain management do not know the first thing about what it is like to deal with chronic pain on a daily basis and could care less. I'm curious to know if you ever found anyone to help you with your pain? You sound like me when you make the comment that you are willing to travel just to find comfort and relief from pain. If you are willing to travel then please let me know what you find out there as far as exceptional pain doctors. I could sure use some help down in my neck of the woods of North Carolina??. Good luck to you and please pass on any names that you can find in this state or any other state close by to either one of us. Anyone out there that knows of a good pain doctor near North Carolina then please pass it on. My pain is mostly in my back due to a bulging disc and moderate arthritis plus I am dealing with TMJ. Thank you for any input that you can have towards resolving this issue. We have to stick together as paying patients because the doctors refuse to understand until it happens to them. Keep in touch and have a great day!??

Hello, I seen you mention a Dr. Moran from Scranton, Pa and that he will help out with pain MEDS. I wanted to reach out to you as that's actually the Dr I was going to transfer to next from my current one in Mountain Top. I been living in NEPA for the past 7 years almost and grew up in Harrisburg, Pa.

I'm going into my 30s and been living with a rare medical issue for 26 years! Nobody has ever been able to help me! All specialists you can name them....I been there.....top notch ones at that....all could not be of any help! I have Fibromyalgia, Athritis, sports injuries from when I was younger then I also have the most unbelievable pains in my hands (which is what I use for my career). This is all stuff that doesn't even stem from my rare medical condition which only 2.2% of the world has and only about .5% have it as bad as I do and it is called Secondary Idiopathic Hyperhidrosis.

I worked my way up trying all sorts of MEDS for pain in my early and mid 20s. Finally what worked best and I was prescribed Oxycodone 30 Mg IR 150 a month AS WELL AS 2 mg Xanax for my insane anxiety which I've had since I was young and been on for 16 years and 350 MG Soma for my muscle spasms and tenseness I get in my body. I'm on 2 other non controlled substances as well.

The dr I was seeing had marital issues and opened a new practice and basically took new patients and left her old patients at the old husband and wife practice. In which the husband wouldn't treat me because I was never his patient and it was an absolute mess!

I found Dr. Moran through much research and I've actually had some Grand Mal Seizures from not having my MEDS a few months and ER doctors would have to give me what was needed so I wouldn't go into the seizures as my body not only was extremely adjusted to the medicine but it helps my life and quality of life immensely! I was hoping you could write me back about any information exactly in regards to him, as far as his demeanor and ways of practice! I've never failed a drug paneltest, I don't drink or smoke, no street drugs and don't a use my medicine! This combination has been the only thing in the past decade that's given me the chance to chase my dreams and live a normal life!.....I hear he has a PA named Natalie do most his work and he is rarely in and their closed every Monday. I don't know if this is true or still the case.

I'm a person with all my issues that wants a close relationship with my DR, not a PA! So any information or self experiences you could share would be more than appreciated! Hope to hear from you and God bless!

Hello, I read your post, I was wondering where in PA your located? I'm prescribed and have been for 6 years now 150 30 MG ROXICODONE along with 2Mg xanax 100 a month and 350 mg Soma 100 a month as well. Then I have promethazine syrup (no codeine) just for allergies as well as blood pressure MEDS. I moved and found a new doctor who was prescribing me these and I have 272 pages of medical records from the past 5 years alone. As well as a very rare medical problem. Now all the sudden this new doctor since I moved, she wants to taper me off EVERYTHING which would make my life extreme hell & not fair to me. I've never failed a Drug panel. I don't abuse my MEDS, I don't use street drugs. I don't smoke or drink. I'm just trying to live my life with the best quality and at the same time achieve my goals in life! With being tapered off these MEDS which it took 10 years to eventually find what worked for me. I'm stable on what I'm on and doing great but now faced with this nightmare! Any help would be great as it sounds like your doctor would be able to help with exactly what I've been prescribed and I'm willing to move literally anywhere in the United States or PA etc.... To have my good quality of life! Thanks!

Hello, I'm actually coming from the NEPA area having lived down in WB for the past 6 years. Having said that. I'm just going into my 30s, info have a very rare medical condition. Anyhow I know a great internal family medicine doctor in Mountain top. She was my doctor the whole time I lived up there and had me on 150 30 mg Roxicodone a month. 2MG xanax for my anxiety, 350 mg Soma 100 a month for my muscle spasms and then I was on other non controlled MEDS. If your interested in talking I can tell you where to go and she is accepting new patients. I have moved in the last year and now having problems finding a doctor who had me on what she had me on for 6 years and it's ruining my life as she is so sympathetic to any problem and if you give her no reason to not be trusted, you will never have any problems! She doesn't make you jump through hoops and go to pain management either!

Did you get the name and number of the pain dr. I am also on the ne/ohio close to pa and I want to go to pa for a dr. Dr's here in Ohio are afraid to treat their patients I am tired of being in pain all the time. All they want to do here is injections, surgery etc. I don't want to get cut up with a 50/50 chance. I am 69 I can hardly get out of bed in the morning very tired of this. Someone must know of a dr that will help us.

Hi Jo, My dear, do you realize you're on a thread titled "Drs in PA that prescribe Oxycodone"? Pa=Pennsylvania. You might get a better result if you go to the home page by clicking the Medchats logo at the top of the page. Then click "drug forums" & type into the search bar something like "need pain management in NC" or some folks type in their city, state & the name of the particular medication they are hoping for.
Good luck to you!

You are very lucky since most doctors will not even prescribe 30 mg of Oxy at all. I need a pain Dr. like the one you have. How do you find out the names of doctors on here? It is so touch and go. I am in NC & need to find a good one soon. I am on Hydromorphone (32 mg daily) & need a doctor not afraid to write it. Your doctor may know a good one in NC. You Never know. Most doctors around here are scared to write 30 mg Oxy. I need a good pain doctor about 40 miles from Charlotte, NC. I would appreciate the help.
