I need a doctor in the pgh area. I have had 11 back surgeries, chronic pain and anxiety. My pcp gave me a month to find one... Please help.

I know of good pm dr in nj (30 mins from Stbg) u just hve to hve nj address.

Hi Steve! To your question, it's not about the DRs name you need to know it's that there are alot of PM DRs in the area of Stroudsburgs area because they have alot of retired people in the Poconos. So PM DRs are a dime a dozen in the Poconos (Stroudsburg area) So search that on internet.

I recently got health insurance and I need to find a doctor who is willing to prescribe opiod prescriptions. I am in severe pain. Had back surgery and boy was that a big mistake! Oxycodone seems to be the only thing that helps me to releive the pain. I would appreciate any information. Thanks!

Hi All that i have been having convos with here. I have good news...if u have a NJ address. A friend of mine goes to this Dr and so does her mother, brother, husband & 2 other ppl I know. Every 2 weeks has an appt. for prescription pick up. You only have to see the actual Dr every 3 months... of course u have to have an initial visit, bringing all records mri ect & pharmacy list of previous pm meds. He does accept some insurance. Over the past year he has made some adjustments as far as cutting back on over prescribing...example; 240 30mg a month to 180. But if u haven't had past pm he will NOT start u out with anything strong..only Tramadol.

No he has it. Its always an excuse like yesterday morning they lock the keys up and the evening was a meeting now today my husband told me that the for is gone for today because hes stress and he wants to get away. Something is not right in my bones

I also understand why people here that have good docs don't offer the info here bc of course everyone & their crazy uncle will try to use the info. But i do believe that some of the responsibility lies within the Dr offices. I used to work at the front desk at Dr office in the early part of my career, & it was usually pretty clear when patients came in that were full of BS & just drug seeking. The whole situation stinks. I watched a very interesting true documentary on Netflix called Dr Feel Good. Would love to hear others opinion on the film. I'm for the Dr but he was very excessive with his prescription pad! Definitely over the top!

Swish, unfortunately I know exactly how u feel. I too have heard/read about urgent care for pm. But im not sure how to go about it either....seems odd to me. But i would jump thru hoops of fire to find a good pm dr. So plz share any info u find and I'll do the same. Does anyone know why were not allowed to share our own info on this site, like email or exact location, ect?.... I read terms & conditions & couldn't find anything in regards. Try to have a good Friday ALL.

Unfortunately not. Still stuck in the same predicament. Not sure where to turn. Still in pain every day. Still depressed, drained physically/mentally/emotionally, anxiety in full force. It's not fun. I hate the self medicate, but when youre in constant pain for days on end, it gets to a point where you have to do what you have to do. Its def a burden though. I was wondering about the Urgent Care clinics. I read that some of them do offer pain management. Does anyone have any info or experience with them? If anyone currently goes this route, can you give a little signal along with maybe a brief review? Hope you all are doing ok. I truly know where all of you are coming from, and it's not a place that anyone should have to be in.

Q, Hi. $55 a month is wonderful!!! I used to $215 a month! And I'd pay it again too if my Dr wa as still around! He gave me 180 to 210 30's a month! Anyway $55 pr/month is really good. I hope u get what ur looking for next appt. Does he give any reasons why he hasnt given u meds yet?

NIKKI, i found a doc that i have to pay 55 a month. Said they give out pain meds but seems like he is a joke. I had to pay 75 upfront first visit last week and still no meds. He told me he needs my record well gave it to him and still he has excuse of he havent gotten around to it. Bull to me. Here i am in oain till im about to cry. Dont know what to do at tbis point

Hi all, Tara I might have some luck with a Dr. in Wingap that the Dr I'm with now knows. If that doesn't work out I'll just have to keep pushing forward like the rest of us on here. It's not fair. There is a place in Stroudsburg called The Neurology and Pain Management Associates or something close like that, it's been so long since I've been there. But they have a few Pain Drs in there. It's too far for me but maybe closer for others on here.

As for me im still in my crappy situation.
Made a few more calls with zero luck.
This rainy day not only has my joints flaired up but im so depressed, just want to crawl under covers and sleep for a month. My fingers are so swollen i had to pry my wedding band off with vasiline this morning.

I know crazy hard.... Someone mentioned a Dr they used to go to in my area but didn't know how to spell his name, said he stopped going bc he moved too far. I'm gonna try and research the spelling online & maybe ill get lucky.....sigh.

Carmine, that's REALLY very friendly & compassionate of u. Wow! I never had any problems there or anywhere for that matter. The dr i saw for 6 years prior to the one we're talking about, well he called Dr AG to personally refer me; said I was a model patient lol. Thank u so very much.
