Do I Need An Increase In My Dosage?

Hi- my name is Wendy. I'm 36 years old, and I've been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder Type II, Adult ADHD, Anxiety Disorder, & AntiSocial Disorder.I take Symbiax for Bipolar Disorder,Klonipin for Anxiety Disorder, and just switched from Adderall to Vyvanse for my ADHD. While I was taking Adderall, I suffered from severe mood swings, especially when I would come down off of it, & my behavior really took a turning point after I had to start taking the pill form (or salts) because of insurance purposes. I started imagining things, and became so paranoid that I felt like everyone was "out to get me", and everything people would say to me or about me was somehow negative. The pharmacy where I got my prescriptions filled even told me that my doctor had me on an extremely high dose of it. I was taking 40 mg twice daily of the pill form, and before that, I was taking 1 40mg of the XR form daily. As far as helping with my adhd symptoms, the XR really helped, and the pill form just drove me insane! I had no choice but to quit taking it cold turkey, and was recently put on Vyvanse to replace it. My doctor gave me 40 mg as a starting dose, and it doesn't work as well for my symptoms, and doesn't last very long. Overall, I don't "Crash" when I come off of it, and my moods are stable, so I'd much rather take Vyvanse other than Adderall anyday! I'm supposed to see my doctor tomorrow for a follow up, and I'm wondering if the dosage he has given me is the right dose, and I'm scared to go up on the dose because of my bad experience with Adderall, although I know that the 2 medications are different. I'm having a hard time focusing and getting things done now since the change. Has anyone had an experience similar to mine? Does anyone have any advice as to what I need to do as far as my dosage is concerned with the Vyvanse? Thank You in advance for any/all replies!

Have you discussed this with your doctor, yet?

How long have you been taking the Vynase? It is possible that some of your problems are just being caused by the switch from one medication to this one. So, you may just need to give it more time.
