I've been taking ramipril and amlodipine for several years with no problems but last week my Dr prescribed indapamide. I feel sick, headache, lightheaded, dry mouth and generally awful. I've read that its side effects are "minor and transient" but I don't know if I can wait until they go away. Hello! I started HCTZ around 02/98, didn't notice any problems until about 4-5 years ago when I could not longer stand at my stove for even 5 minutes to cook a meal, felt like my calves were going to burst because they were so tight. I have always drank plenty of water since my early 20's (I'm now 53), was never informed my sodium and potassium were to be monitored closely while on this drug, and never warned about staying out of the sun for any length of time. After being denied to stop taking this drug by my physician, I stopped it in 08/16 and couldn't believe what pain I was actually in while on that dreadful medication. The pill is Triamterene (37.5 mg) + Hydrochlorothiazide (25 mg). It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and edema (water retention). I have celiac and started taking spironolactone by amneal pharma, but i am not feeling well on it. Can you tell me if it is gluten free? ## Spironolactone by Amneal (50mg) totally "glutened" me. Amneal told me that it does not contain gluten - but I'm guessing there is some cross contamination or an ingredient from another supplier that has hidden gluten. I went off it and felt better. My mother aged 87 years has started taking Nexito Plus for the past 3 days. She used to have panic / anxiety attacks in the night, and hence was prescribed Nexito plus instead of Revotril (0.25 mg). She did not sleep during the past two nights, and today has been sleeping through the day. Towards evening, she became more drowsy and is sleeping soundly with very little reaction. One has m2 on one side and nothing on the other; and the other pill has ep 116 on only one side. Are they the same thing? ## Yes, they are both listed by their respective manufacturers, Mylan Pharmaceuticals and Excellium Pharmaceutical, as containing 20mgs of Furosemide, which is a generic for Lasix. I started taking Triamterene HCTZ 37.5-25mg each morning, along with plavix and asprin. I drink at least 100 oz of water every day, and I find myself retaining more fluid and urinating less. I am taking spironolactone 50mg and the tablets have been white with MP 542 on the scored side. I refilled my prescription and now they are yellow with AN 514 on the scored side.
